We can't thank everyone at Holmwood enough for the love and care they gave to my mum for the two months she was there. She was always treated with such warmth, dignity and genuine kindness, and it meant so much to me and my wife. She never look unkempt or dirty - I had no cause for concerns here.
The care and support was beyond excellent - we were always kept informed of any issues, which brought real peace of mind. The home itself is consistently welcoming (get past the carpet you see of 1960's retro), never with the unpleasant smells you sometimes associate with care homes. Every visit we were offered a cup of tea. Mum loved the food and they catered for her needs with no fuss. What makes this place special is the people. The staff are compassionate, patient and take the time to build real relationships. We will always be grateful for the care they gave to Mum and whilst the stay should have been longer - her final days were in the right place. Thank you! Highly recommend.

We have been reflecting on our experience placing my mother in law 'Wendy' into care with Holmwood Care home last year in April. Wendy is particularly treasured by myself, her son and our Children. She was frightened and depressed when she came to live in care. The wheels fell off very quickly
and even with around the clock care we couldn't get things right for her to feel safe. Since being in Holmwood we now get to spend time with a calm and happy 'Wendy'. She loves where she is and she gets regular visitors. However, when life events have hit us and we aren't there we know that she is in the safest hands with Julie and her team who are now like family and she speaks very highly of. She enjoys to give staff her family news not least her greatest joy last week of becoming a Great Granny to Willa her first great granddaughter.
When I called Zoe, the Placements manager a year ago in the hunt for the right place for Wendy I knew by the end of the call this was it.

My mother has been at Holmwood for 4 years. She tells me on every visit, how lucky she feels to be there, and how kind they are to her.
I feel she is perfectly safe and cared for, the staff are fantastically patient

This is a wonderful care home. The staff are friendly, even to visitors, and nothing was too much trouble. The care and respect they show the residents is impressive and the building is clean and homely. Residents have a good deal of autonomy and have access to quiet spaces such as the garden. I was
very impressed.

Holmwood has excellent staff who care about residents. Cleanliness is excellent and thorough. The food is satisfactory but not consistent some days are better than others. Overall a good care home and would recommend it.

My husband was moved from another care home to Holmwood. The difference in care is outstanding. He is well looked after and treated with respect. I feel satisfied that his well-being is important to the staff. They are always supportive and aware of how he is doing on a day-to-day basis.

Whenever I have visited Holmwood I have been warmly welcomed by all staff.
The atmosphere is friendly and happy.
Staff are always smiling, polite and respectful to visitors and residents.
Residents say the food is good and the home is clean.

My husband is well looked after and is very happy.
The laundry system could be improved as he has lost a few items of clothing.
The staff always treat him and me with respect and are always very helpful.

Very happy that Mum can stay here as it is a home from home with good food, caring friendly staff and there is always an activity going on.
The reason I have only marked 4 stars for facilities and safety is that the garden and porchway would benefit from some maintenance and not all the rooms have
bathrooms but the home does have a good friendly vibe to it.

Mum has just entered full-time care in Holmwood and because of the manager and staff, she has settled in so well and is very content. She joins in activities, is very well cared for and is enjoying the food.

Holmwood is a caring, friendly and professional environment in which my mother is looked after very well.
Having cared for her for a number of years. I am very happy that Holmwood takes care of all her needs very effectively, enabling me to regain my own time to live life as I imagined my retired
life should be lived.

I find the long-serving staff very capable and caring.
The last two years have been awful for everyone but I can say my mother was cared for well under the rules. Maybe their clothes weren't reviewed often but really they didn't have time. Someone could be assigned to that particular job.

My mother is very happy in the home. The food is wonderful according to my mother (she would say if not!). The staff are friendly and patient.
My mother recently celebrated her 95th Birthday, and the staff prepared a cake and held a party for her; which was very thoughtful.

My mother is very happy in this home. She feels safe, warm, comfortable and loved. She is very fond of most of the staff. The chef is very helpful in providing a soft diet to suit my mother's needs.
