My mother was placed in the care home on a D2A placement but the experience was not good.
The care home was "clickly" with some residences being favoured over others by staff and management.
Some staff (not all) were seen and heard to be stern with residents, my mother aired concerns to me that
she was scared of some staff! My mother had dementia and displayed outbursts of anger and frustration particularly to her family. My brother witnessed a staff member scolding my mother saying "don't speak to your son like that he won't come again!" When l heard that l was appalled, that was my mom's worst fear and would never happen, little did she know!
The day my mom was moved (not enough words here me here). I asked if l could come and pack her belonging up. When l arrived to go with her to the new Nursing home her personal possessions, clothes, photos of her grandchildren had been placed in black bin liners and put by the front door for us to collect our way out!

Can't fault any of the managers or carers.they are kind caring and compassionate.we were gutted when we thought our uncle had lost his place.he loves it there.nothing is too much trouble. Very helpful they are

My mom has been a resident at the care home since October 2023 following a diagnosis of early onset dementia. From the very beginning, the care she has received has been outstanding. Every member of staff goes above and beyond to ensure she is safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity and respect.
Any issues or concerns are dealt with immediately and professionally, which gives me great reassurance.
I visit my mom daily, and over time the care home has truly become a home from home for both of us. I am always greeted with a friendly smile, and staff are never too busy to answer questions or offer a listening ear. Their kindness, patience, and genuine compassion make an incredibly difficult situation much easier to cope with. I have complete confidence that my mom is cared for as an individual, and I am deeply grateful to all the staff for the support they provide every single day.

I visit my sister twice weekly and I find the staff and management very helpful and friendly. My sister has only been in the home for about 8 weeks she is settling in but being her first experience of a care environment, it's taking a little longer for her to be truly content. She says the food is
good and the staff caring and patient. The care home is clean and tidy.

I am very happy with the way my mum is looked after by everyone at Leighswood. The office/management staff are pleasant, helpful and efficient and have made the paperwork process a lot easier. My mum's room is lovely and bright and very welcoming. The catering is very good and the meals are
well-balanced. The staff during the day and overnight are very helpful and caring always offering good support. I feel happy to leave my mum in the care of all at Leighswood knowing she is safe and well looked after, this helps me a lot.

Julie and her team welcomed mother into their care and ensured she quickley adapted to life in her new home. I cannot thank them enough for the excellent job they do.
The home is spotlessly clean. The staff are always cheerful, helpful and attentive to resdients needs.

My Aunt has dementia and Alzheimers and has been resident here since early January 2025. The staff have been very polite and helpful. My Aunt seems much more settled now and we are thankful to all the staff at Leighswood for their efforts

My Mom went to Leighswood about 5 weeks ago after 6 weeks respite in another care home. After feeling reluctanct to move but needing to have a location nearer to family she moved without any problems. The staff at Leighswood cannot do enough for my mom, anything she needs they make happen for her.
Their communication with myself and my family has been brilliant and I feel I can ask them anything no matter how trivial it may seem. My experience is that the residents are respected and cared for with compassion and warmth. My mom never wanted to be in a care home but they do their best to make it feel like home for her. I highly recommend Leighswood Care Home.

Leighswood is a lovely care home, the home is nicely laid out with communal spaces and has a calm, homely feel. There's always something happening with staff engaging with residents, and staff are extremely person centred and kind with their residents and are very welcoming to visitors. There is a
lovely calm atmosphere when you visit. Communication with families is open, honest, and reassuring. We are always kept informed, involved with my mother's care and health. I feel It's a place where residents are respected and supported, after visiting many care homes I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for compassionate and kind, person-centred care.

Leighswood's and their staff do a really great job.
They really care for my Mom and provide love and support not only to her but to me also.

All the staff are friendly and helpful. They have helped my 97 years old uncle regain strength and confidence.

The home has improved over the last few years with investment which was needed. I've always found the staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly.The manager and staff are very good and keep me informed and up to speed with things relevant to Mom. Communication is key and having the support of people
who want to help you during this time puts your mind at rest.

Kind and friendly staff. My mother has been at the home for several months now and has settled really well. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The home is clean and the rooms are functional but good size and bright and airy.

My mom has been a resident for 8 years, regularly visit and have never found a problem, the home owners, management and staff are excellent.

My mom has been in Leighswood for approx 10 weeks, she settled down straight away and has been happy there ever since. She gets on well with all the staff and all the staff like Mom. She eats all her meals and her room is spotless. She has no aggressive tendencies and is well-mannered with all the
staff and management.

I am very happy with the standard of care that is being provided for my relative, who initially was adamant that she did not want to go into a care home. Within a few days of being admitted for 'discharge to assess' she asked to stay as a permanent resident. I always ask her if she is still happy
and she always responds positively. The staff and management are very helpful and patient. I am very impressed by the cleaning regime at this home and they are meeting the needs of my relative.

This care home has greatly improved under the new manager. I am so happy with the positive changes. Residents lead a fulfilled life and are given choices on their daily living. The food is wonderful. The home is clean and bright with dementia signage all round. I would recommend this home highly.
