View Full Details of Rookery CottageWell what can I say, Rookery Care Home is a first class caring home with amazing staff who go above and beyond in all areas of care. Mum spent over four and a half years there, which included covid times. We were always made extremely welcome and we became part of their family. We were recommended Rookery and from our initial visit knew mum, who had dementia, would be loved and cared for. Which she certainly was. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The standard of the rooms and equipment were second to none, doctors and hospital appointments were catered for as well as any dietary needs. Hairdressers and chiropodist visited regularly and entertainment provided throughout the week and birthdays celebrated. We were always kept informed of any needs and requirements. Thank you for giving Mum a wonderful four and a half years and for all your hard work.
A friend of mine recommended the Rookery as a relative of hers was a resident at the home and spoke very highly of the staff and care given. From my first visit I was very impressed by how the staff communicated with all residents and treated them as though they are part of the home's family. They are treated with respect and the best possible personalised care. The atmosphere created is one of genuine interest and care of the residents that are there. I highly recommend Rookery Cottage.
Having had dreadful care in hospital, I was discharged unable to stand or eat in desperation I rang the manager at Rookery Cottage care home and I was lucky enough that they managed to find me a bed, within a week I am feeling strong again, and the care I have received has been out of this world, I can not recommend this home enough, the care has come from the heart, which is wonderful.
We came across this hidden gem after my father-in-law had spent some time in the hospital. We transferred him to Rookery Cottage, which was totally in tune with his needs and had the friendliest and most caring team that we could have hoped for. They handled the many complexities of his health and medication regime with professionalism and total thoroughness. As a result, he regained some of his health and was even making progress with his ability to walk again. However, due to the serious nature of his condition, he passed away after a ten-month stay at Rookery. Throughout his stay, we could not have hoped for more attentive care, even at the end. The sad departure of him was handled with love and humility by all the team. This is a family-run setting, with owners and staff that are dedicated, well-trained, and above all, genuinely caring people. It's in a lovely location, and I can totally recommend it.
We moved Mum from a grand-looking care home because we were not satisfied and went to the Rookery Cottage Care Home and what a difference. She was treated as one of the family, nothing was too much trouble. Her clothes were washed after every use each day, good home cooking, staff were so attentive and helpful, couldn’t fault it. The biggest compliment you can make is from my mother herself just before she passed away and that was if I have to go into a care home then this is the one for me. You couldn’t get a more anti-care home person than my mother so that is a high recommendation indeed.
We found The Rookery after a friend had recommended it to us. Our mum was with them for just over a year and we knew we had made a good find, even in Covid times, which they dealt with professionally. The Rookery is a lovely environment for residents and their families as all are made to feel so welcome and part of the Rookery family. The team create a fantastic home with nothing being too much trouble. They listened, provided love, care and patience with Mum, took her to hospital appointments and went the extra mile with all they did. Moving a parent into a home is one of the hardest decisions to make, with so much to think about, but we made a good decision and would not hesitate to recommend the Rookery to anyone who has this difficult decision ahead of them.
This wonderful care home looked after my mother for the past three years until her recent death. The staff are so kind, hard-working and dedicated. Most have been there for many years. I can never thank them enough for everything they did for her and the rest of my family.
Having had an upsetting experience with a previous home we knew from the initial phone call that this was an organised caring home for our immobile and frail 92yr old dad. Although a relatively short stay we really got to know the carers who went above and beyond to look after dad. Most of them had worked for the Rookery for many years. We were able to see dad safely during Covid restrictions. He had complex needs but we felt really confident that every aspect of his care was being dealt with to the highest standard and professionalism. From arranging taxis for hospital visits, putting on entertainment which he thoroughly enjoyed to looking after him with the utmost respect at the end of his life we had total confidence that the Rookery had thought of everything. During his last few days, the management and staff kept a 24 hour watch accommodating his every need and ours. Their love, care, and support was much appreciated and we would highly recommend this home
The Care Home accommodated my dad at short notice, even in the covid situation. Everything was covid secure at the home and necessary protocols were in place during his stay. He had a comfortable room and toilet facilities. The staff were very caring and supportive. After the 2 weeks isolation period, dad enjoyed the company of the residents and staff and joined in with the activities. He also enjoyed all his meals. Overall, dad had a very positive experience while at the Home.
My mother was in need of care and thanks to the Rookery they were able to provide the testing and isolation required during the Covid outbreak. I was and still am delighted with their strict regime to keep everyone safe and well during this difficult time. The team collected Mum and took her straight into isolation for the required 2 weeks. They made sure she wasn't lonely and being able to 'FaceTime' her was brilliant. Mum is extremely happy there and it's wonderful for me knowing she is so very well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble and it has given Mum a new lease of life. Thank you all so very much.
The team at Rookery Cottage provides an exemplary level of care and attention to residents and their families. It is a small family-owned and run establishment which is staffed by a team of wonderful local ladies. My Mother was a resident until she died last weekend. She suffered with dementia and had one or two other health issues which made her a particularly challenging resident. This really is an exceptional and quite outstanding establishment that I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending. My sincere thanks to the team for all that they did to care for Mum through to the end of her life. I will never forget their kindness, sincerity, compassion, care and attention.
Mum has been a resident at Rookery Cottage since July 2016. She is very happy and has a good relationship with all the staff. Rookery is a small, homely care home which is well managed. The staff are very experienced, some have been there for over 12 years, which suggests they are happy too. The level of care is first class. Due to the low number of residents and a high level of staffing, all the resident's needs are known and well catered for. Mum has many health issues, and her condition is closely monitored and interventions are always implemented very promptly. The food is plentiful and home cooked. Mum is always clean and tidy, the washing is done daily and all her clothes are returned promptly. As relatives, we are always made to feel welcome and included in her care plans, and visiting is very flexible. Mum has described living at Rookery as being part of a big family. We definitely recommend this as a good care home and feel very privileged to have secured a place there for Mum.
The staff show fantastic care towards my Mother who has resided with Rookery for over a year. They are always cheerful even though my mother's behaviour can be challenging at times. Their kindness is exemplary. They have given us as a family extensive support throughout mother's stay. Can't thank them enough.
Another wonderful Xmas event when all the residents are taken to a restaurant for lunch with the whole staff, families and friends - just one more example of Rookery’s commitment to creating a family atmosphere where everyone is valued respected and involved.
The staff at the Rookery Cottage provided outstanding care for my mother over many years. They go above and beyond to provide a clean, safe and loving environment for their residents. I could not fault any aspect of their service, these people are true care professionals.
