View Full Details of Hoyland HallAll staff very kind, warm, caring and respectful. My husband has a hospital appointment, I wasn't sure how I was going to get him there but it was taken out of my hands and transport was arranged very quickly and efficiently. I cannot fault the care he's received during the short time he's been there.
Very homely, welcoming place with absolutely brilliant, friendly, caring staff. We've noticed a very positive difference in my dad since he moved in. Couldn't be more grateful for how they look after my dad.
When dad decided he wanted to move into permanent residential care we did our homework and found in Hoyland Hall a lovely place for him to live. It is spotlessly clean, the food is everything and more that dad could ask for. The staff. To a man and woman we have found them all to be so helpful and kind. Dedicated to caring I would say. Before dad moved in here he was quiet and withdrawn. It was difficult to get him to open up and talk. Now, wow what a difference. We have never seen him as chatty. He loves it here and that makes us all happy. It takes away any doubts that we had about moving him in. This is a lovely care home, a bit dated in terms of decor and furnishings but that's because they invest in the quality of care they give. I would have no reservations about recommending this home to anyone. Thankyou to all the staff. We know dad is being looked after and he is happy.
My dad only moved in a fortnight ago. He is absolutely loving it. I have not seen him this happy for over 30 years when my mum was still alive. He loves the food and jokes he almost never stops eating. Every staff member I and the family have met has been cheerful, friendly and smiling. Our every question was answered quickly and honestly. He is being looked after wonderfully well I really wish to thank everyone at Hoyland Hall. It is a very special place.
Everything is fantastic. All the staff are amazing from management down. Cannot fault a thing. It's an amazing place. Would recommend the home to anyone. Always interacting with all the clients, it's like home from home. Very, very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for staff to do anything. The home is kept spotless and smells lovely.
I have been into Hoyland Hall 3 times now as a volunteer twice to talk about Mining and to be their father Christmas. Each time I have felt the friendly glow as I walk through the door. Smiling staff and happy clients and the feeling of happiness and wellbeing within the place. Also it is clean and well maintained to an extremely high standard. I do seasonal work in many care home but Holyland Hall is the pinnacle in my opinion.
Mum entered the home when her quality of life had suffered causing her mood her mood to be low. She was being regularly hospitalised due to uncontrolled pain. All this changed within a few short weeks. The variety and number of stimulating activities and quality of care in this home are outstanding. The home looks after its staff: consequently, many of them have worked there for years. Valuing experience means their staff are exceptional and provide the residents with a loving and happy home. My mum loves it. She tells us 'I have my life back'. She looks like herself again! Well-groomed, well-dressed, well-fed, with a big smile on her face. The food is excellent. Mum apparently enjoys her cooked breakfast every day (often having seconds). It is no trouble to whip up something else if today's menu is not to Mum's taste. Mum was not eating properly before, but now she is thriving. Hoyland Hall was the best choice we could ever make for Mum.
We initially brought Dad to Hoyland Hall for just a short respite stay, but 15 months later, he has thrived, and we can't imagine him anywhere else. At the time, he seemed lost, with no real spark. Hoyland Hall has provided him with over a year of exceptional care, not just physically, but also emotionally. We truly believe it's extended his life. The staff here are incredibly dedicated. Their passion for resident well-being shines through in every interaction. Their consistent presence, with minimal turnover, fosters a genuine sense of trust and allows families like ours to have complete confidence in the care Dad receives. It's a beautiful blend of caring professionalism - the best of both worlds. Thank you, Hoyland Hall, for giving Dad a renewed sense of purpose and for giving us, his family, immense peace of mind.
All the staff are genuinely lovely to all the residents, they have patience, optimism and resilience in spades. They organise so many activities to keep residents engaged as much as possible. It's a relief to know my grandma is looked after and safe in their hands.
Over the last few years there seems to be an increasing problem with communication. Be it not being informed about illness, differing interpretations of illness by staff, items required by residents i.e clothing, toiletries or in the not too distant past, reserving a time and date to visit only to be told you weren’t expected when you got there. Another example was each member of staff’s interpretation of rules as Covid restrictions were gradually eased. Please have one song sheet for all, then all sing from it. There seems to be only one member of staff who you can ask a question and get an answer. If she isn’t around to ask, you can waste your time. That said, I wouldn’t want my father to be anywhere else at this time in his life. The staff at Hoyland Hall help make that decision easy. He is, although confused, very happy and comfortable in his surroundings. Made even more so by the increase in activities he now gets involved in.
My mother was a resident of Hoyland Hall for over 3 years and during this time she was very well looked after by the caring and professional staff. When her mobility decreased the staff managed her condition and kept us informed and consulted us about the best ways to keep her safe. She very much enjoyed the activities offered and the food.
My mum was initially placed at Hoyland Hall by the hospital for respite after breaking her hip and wrist, she is now a permanent resident due to mobility issues which says a lot as I wouldn't leave her in a place where she wasn't cared for properly and in safe hands. Mum is always clean and in her own clothes which means a lot to me as I know it is a big issue in other care homes. The staff are amazing and the activity coordinator keeps the resident's minds and bodies active with all the different activities/events she organises. The rooms are a bit dated for me but are always warm and very clean. I would definitely recommend Hoyland Hall to anyone needing a care home for their relatives. Thank you to all the staff!
I cannot fault the care that takes place at Hoyland Hall. The staff go above and beyond and the activities and extra things they do go to show their dedication to their job and the residents. The recent Christmas activities and online virtual Christmas Calendar brought a tear to my eye and seeing it all on social media updated is great for the families of the residents I feel too. I feel my dad has settled in so well and is treated as an individual with respect and decency whilst also getting what needs to be done in terms of medication and personal care. I spread the word about how good this place is. I do wish Dad's room was a little bigger to fit in his own chair from home but it can’t be helped. Although the decor of the bedrooms is a little dated, everything that matters is excellent and it’s not something that dad is bothered about and that’s what matters. I feel assured dad is in safe hands and I am called if anything is wrong or need to be notified of. Thank you.
My mum is a resident of Hoyland Hall and has been for a long while. The standard of care and compassion she receives is second to none. The staff go above and beyond for her and all other residents. The activity therapies are brilliant and all are encouraged to join in. I would recommend this home to anyone and everyone.
I cannot fault the care and support that my dad has received since he became a resident in November 2022. All the staff members go above and beyond to do their upmost to ensure each and every resident is looked after. The activities are varied and they try to do different themes too.
Mum has not been living here long but so far she has been well taken care of. The staff are brilliant as are the activities they do with them. If I had any complaint it would just be that the rooms are somewhat dated and could do with brightening up, they can still be made cosy for the residents with a few of their own possessions. I am so far happy with my choice having it been a very hard decision to make for Mum, the staff have also helped me come to terms with it which I am grateful for.
I would definitely recommend Hoyland Hall to anyone needing a care home for their relatives, the staff are so kind and caring and go out of their way to accommodate residents and visitors. My cousin is comfortable and settled which is a great comfort to the family.
I've got to say Hoyland Hall was fantastic with my mum's short stay there. They went above and beyond to help us before she sadly passed away... simply the best care home, I know people who moved their relative in there when I told them how good it was.
My mum resided at Hoyland Hall after being in hospital for a month for oral cancer, feeding and mobility issues. I was slightly dubious at first, with care homes having had so much bad press. However, my faith has now been restored after experiencing Hoyland Hall. Every single member of staff have cared professionally and personally for Mum in every way required. They showed so much compassion and empathy for Mum and nothing was ever too much trouble. My dad and I visited Mum daily (on separate times of day) and each time staff were so accommodating. They always took time to chat to us and made us feel so welcome and updated us on Mum's progress. The home itself is very clean, well resourced, and you can tell all food is home-made (accommodating Mum's soft food diet). I have so much praise for Hoyland Hall and all the staff there.
Absolutely beautiful place and the professional staff couldn't do enough for my father-in-law in his last days after a horrible experience with another care home. They went above and beyond at the height of Covid to include us in everything. Top class.
All staff very kind, warm, caring and respectful.
