My mother spent nearly two years in Cairn Home, only leaving in August
2025 because her changing needs necessitated a move from residential to
nursing care. I would like to thank staff of all designations for the
wonderful care they gave my mother during this time. She was a very
independent lady, for whom the move into residential care from her own
home of 70 years was a huge step. The warmth and sensitivity of the
staff was instrumental in helping her adjust to the change. My mother
took part in the various activities on offer (I never expected to see a
photograph of her holding a snake or with a pony in her room!). In
particular, she loved to be in the garden - a hidden gem. As far as
possible, family visits took place there. My mother's description on
first visiting Cairn Home was that it was 'homely'. The lovely touches
around the place, especially the beautifully set tables in the dining
room, made it so. I am so grateful for the time my mother spent there.
