View Full Details of Priestley Care HomeI have been to quite a few homes recently and this one is the best by far. The home is spotless the staff are brilliant. I went with a friend as her sister had gone in there she was very reluctant to go in to a home but she has settled amazingly. She said the staff are great and the food is good and she is looked after brilliantly.
Very helpful and caring
Resident not been in for long but very caring, friendly and passionate about what they do staff nothing seems to be to much trouble make you feel very comfortable in their presence.
I have lived here for 2 years and I'm very happy. The day&night staff look after me really well. Both deputy managers look after me, I really like them they are very caring and they always let my gp know if I'm unwell. If there is something on the menu that I do not like then I am offered other options by the cooks. We had a singer on Wednesday and he was very good, I really enjoyed myself.
The Priestley Care Home is very welcoming. The deputy managers make sure that the place is extremely well run, this is reflected in the quality of their staff, care and food. The home runs various activities to keep all the residents occupied and to keep their brains active. I know that my mother is in the best place for her stage of life.
Very clean environment, welcoming, caring staff. Very professional! Light airy rooms and a nice temperature. Food is good quality and an adequate amount of provided at each meal. Standard of care is exemplary. Staff are clean, tidy and well spoken. The residents are safe and the environment is secure and pleasant. They are treated with dignity. Activities are planned for each day.
My son 2 years ago, knocked on Priestley Care Home's door, for that is what it is to me, a home, ever since. I am cared for, warm and happy. The cooks are excellent, I have to have my food pureed to be able to swallow. The doctors are excellent, the senior staff are extremely caring, always at their best for everybody in our home. My nose is always running, I have Huntington's disease, I use a lot of boxes of tissues.
They are very kind and helpful. Comfortable.
They are very good, they do the best they can do for you.
I find staff are overworked as there are only two members of staff with 20 rooms to look after, I see this every day but still the care goes without saying.
My mum moved into Priestley Care Home in November 2024 after being in another home that wasn't meeting her needs. Since being in Priestley Care Home my mum has actually started to smile again and has found some vocabulary again which she had lost. All staff at Priestley Care Home show care, compassion and consideration to all residents and family members alike. It's just like a home from home.
My sister has a lovely, sunny room and bathroom, plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe and drawers. All her clothes are kept lovely and clean and her bedding. The staff are great. I get on with them all well. They look after my sister really well. Good entertainment on, we have sing-alongs and a little dance if people can do it, and watch films with them. I go four times a week, if possible, and at mealtimes the food is good.
Warm, friendly environment. Caring staff. Very helpful management and staff.
During an episode of my Mum presenting with medical issues all the staff who were on that day dealt with everything in the most efficient and caring way ensuring my Mum had an understanding of everything by explaining everything. She went on to suffer a stroke unfortunately but is now back at the home thankfully.
My mother has recently been for respite care at Priestley Care Home after a recent hospital stay. The care home treated my mother with respect and dignity. The care was excellent and she loved her baths. My mum's room was lovely, with a television. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble at all. The laundry lady was great and made sure my mum's clothes were washed and sided in her room.
My mother lived happily in this care home until on 28.3.2024 she received a letter from the care home manager giving her 28 days' notice to leave. She has run out of money to pay for care fees and although I applied to the local council for funding in November 2023 they did not make any payment to this care home until late April 2024. The care manager would not listen to reason from me and told me in no uncertain terms that 'this was a business'. I found my mother another care home but whilst staying there she caught covid and was dead within a week. All in all a truly dreadful experience.
Our mother has been a resident at Priestley Care Home for two years now, and she is settled and seems happy. I am confident she is in the best place for her needs. It helps me feel better knowing she is well looked after.
Ever since a good friend of mine was moved to the Priestley Care Home in September 2022, I have visited every week on a regular basis. During my visits, I am always impressed by the high level of support, along with the high standard of good, positive care. My own previous experience was in Social Work and Residential work, so I am aware of the pressure of care staff, but dovish to say, the staff team are not only brilliant in the care they provide, but an asset to the organisation to be proud of. Thank you for my friend's quality of life.
Mine and my mum's experience, more importantly, have been very good. Can't fault the staff under sometimes very difficult circumstances. Overall, very pleased with the care home.
All good.
