View Full Details of Woodleigh ManorMy Dad arrived at Woodleigh Manor in April this year and has settled in here extremely well, this is due to the highest level of care provided by the Care Home Manager her Deputy and her care team. Other team members, who all look after my Dad, who deserve a special mention for their excellent care of Dad to three members of staff. The communication with myself from the Manager and her team has been excellent and they have gone above and beyond to help both my Dad and myself and for that I will be eternally grateful. My Dad's room has recently been decorated and the rest of the Care Home is bright, nicely presented and well maintained. The activities for the residents are also many and varied and inclusive and help bring enjoy and stimulation to all who participate in them. Dad enjoys the food too which is great as he has discerning taste! In summary in my opinion I rate this Care Home and its team as 5* in every respect and can not recommend it highly enough
My mother in law has been residing in Woodleigh manor for over 6 years now. During the last year the home has undergone a big transformation, they have a new manager in post who is working miracles. Her door is always open and she is open, friendly and very caring. Gone is the drab depressing decor, now replaced by calming ,cool colours reflected by creating a lovely atmosphere. The home has transformed into a welcoming happy place, residents art work is on show, lots of bright areas to engage with within the home. The garden is open and is a place to sit with loved one, to enjoy the sunshine. The activities ,where once there where non existent are now engaging and inclusive for all to join in with many open events for both our loved ones and visitors, singers to entertain us all. The care staff now have time for all, caring, compassionate and understanding. I would fully recommend.
Woodleigh has become a home from home for my mum and my dad who visits everyday. Thank you for your love and care you show to both . Things that still could be improved is food and the night staff cover . Saying that I would recommend this care facility to anyone . Thank you most sincerely
When my father in law first went in to a care home we had a very bad experience. But after frighting for a year with social services. We got him moved to Woodleigh Manor. All I can say is,.. wow just wow. From start to finish. all the staff and the manager was fantastic with my father in law and believe me when I say he was not an easy man. And we as a family was definitely on the fence. Because of our last experience. But they worked magic with him and us. We cannot thank all the staff enough for all they did for my father in law. We as a family would not hesitate to use Woodleigh Manor again. All the staff go above and beyond for everyone in the home and it's not a care home it's a family there .so if you are looking for somewhere to treat your family member with love, care, respect, and be treated how you want them to be treated then look here. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff day or night. Again thank you to the Manager and all the staff for everything.
My mum is currently in Woodleigh manor for respite. The staff and management go above and beyond! I can't fault any of the staff, security, facilities, and care given to my mum. From day one nothing is or has been a problem. We as a family are so happy with how mum is settling into her new home at Woodleigh manor. It is like one big family whom make everyone feel welcome. The activities that are done with the residents are very good, I love how families are included in the activities eg summer fair, bands attending, VE Day celebrations, trip to the seaside. I honestly can't fault this care home and would highly recommend it to anyone.
How do I recommend the carehome all I can say what an amazing place! the staff are amazing with the residents, my mum left from a carehome that gave very experience that put all our family members upset over treatment of care , but Woodlieigh manor has been fantastic the care of my mum especially having a massive language barrier not able speak English the care of my mum has been amazing the love they give her she is always happy and has smile on her face, the way they handle my mums bad days especially having dementia Lewy body is unreal the staff and this carehome needs to be given 100 percent credit on their work! they treat everyone like family in there even the actual residents family members are treated like family, my own mums words are she loves them they make her feel safe that is her home we don't need worry for her hearing that is a peaceful mind for us , I would recommend the staff and carehome 100 percent as place for care for there loved ones they will not regret it !
My friend has been at Woodleigh Manor for around two years. On my initial visit I was told to "prepare myself" but over the two years I've seen significant improvements. New furniture has been brought in and redecoration and improvements are ongoing to enhance the home. Despite some challenging residents the staff provide exceptional care to both residents and families. The whole team is truly amazing! The management team are always there or at the end of a phone should you need them. My friend is very happy in her new home and she is happy in her world, for which her family and I couldn't ask for more. Thank you Team Woodleigh x
We had a struggle finding a home for our dad with his dementia but Woodleigh welcomed him with open arms. We were told on our first visit they were "rough and ready" but you will never meet a better group of people. The care, love and support the management and staff gave to him and the other residents was amazing, he settled down and Woodleigh became his second home. Sadly Dad passed away in December but we will be forever grateful to the manager and all the fantastic staff for making his final year so happy and making his family so welcome. Thank you all.
My dad was a resident at Woodleigh Manor and he sadly passed away in December 2024. The care he received whilst living at Woodleigh was amazing. It became a second home to him. The manager and all the staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. So very caring, not just to Dad but all the family/visitors. Dad was previously a very fussy eater but whilst at Woodleigh he ate everything so thank you to the cooks. He particularly enjoyed the homemade cakes. The whole family will be forever grateful for the love and care they gave Dad. He was very happy living at Woodleigh and we could not have asked for anything better.
My mum has been in the home for the last 6 years. Myself and my siblings have seen the care home improve over the 18 months. The home has been decorated, and new furniture added, which makes it feel more homely and modernised. The management and all staff, are very caring and supportive of mum's needs. When we visit, they are all friendly and approachable towards us. Meaningful activities have been greatly improved for residents' daily stimulation. It is really nice to see them playing games, and making things together. We are happy and content with Mum living in Woodleigh for the near future.
My dad's been at Woodleigh Manor since May 2024, the staff and management are so caring towards him. They know how to interact with him as with dementia he can be quite stubborn. For the first time in years he's actually started putting weight on so we know he's getting well looked after. I could not praise the staff and management enough for the care my dad is receiving.
Mum has been here since March 24. She can be very challenging at times due to her dementia but the staff are patient and kind to her always. They treat her with respect and know it's not her true personality. They have made a difficult and emotional journey an easier one and helped us as a family navigate through this cruel disease. If you visit, please look past the decor (although this is going through a period of redecoration), a care home is so much more than aesthetics, it is about what the staff does with the residents. Mum has never fallen or suffered any additional ill health since being there which is a high risk for her normally considering all her health needs so this reflects so positively on the staff.
Excellent service in all aspects of care staff go over and beyond to help and support families. My mum can be very challenging but the staff just accept this and say it's not a problem and we will look after her for you which they do.
My mother and father were both residents here. Unfortunately, they have both passed away in the last five months but the care they both received whilst here was outstanding. All the staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to do the best for them. I will always be eternally grateful for all the care my parents received, especially towards their end of life. They really care about their residents which to me is the most important quality a care home should have. Many Thanks for everything.
My family will be forever grateful for the care my dad received at Woodleigh Manor. Dementia tried to strip away his dignity over the last few years yet the staff saw through that and recognised the man he was. His care was always tailored to him as an individual and he settled far better than we ever thought possible. His mental health actually improved after becoming a resident there, again, we never thought that possible. There was such care and compassion shown to Dad (and Mum as she visited him), particularly at his end of life. For staff to keep this up whilst working so hard...remarkable people. Thank you.
As a family, we cannot rate the management and staff at Woodleigh Manor high enough. The care and compassion shown to my mum throughout her stay, and in particular at the end of her life, went above and beyond and we, as a family, will be eternally grateful.
The staff are all equally caring, they handle people with dementia etc, in quiet and subtle ways. If you walk in and see any of the residents without a slipper or socks it won't be because the staff don't care - they will have tried to keep them on but there is no point in upsetting the resident by insisting. They all have a great sense of humour with everyone (each other, residents and relatives).
Meet my mum's needs, treat her as an individual and are perceptive to changes in mum's needs on a daily basis. Good care and excellent food. Mum is settled here. The staff never stop trying to improve mum's care.
Woodleigh Manor is truly fantastic. It is the quality of care at this facility that makes it second to none. The staff are outstanding in every aspect but their biggest asset is that they care. It is more than just a job to them. My mother transferred from a "very fancy" care home. I would not send my worst enemy there! Mum arrived at Woodleigh in terrible health but thanks to the care of the staff, her improvement both mentally (Alzheimers) and physically is nothing short of a miracle. Thanks to all at Woodleigh. You are the greatest!
