The staff looking after my grandad are amazing with him. He has settled in really well. Thank you for looking after him. He eats well, sleeps well. He doesn't like leaving his room much but he has made some friends there with the other residents.

When I visit my My aunt she is always happy , well dressed and content. I receive photos/videos of her doing activities which she really enjoys. The staff are very friendly and caring. I fully recommend this care home and have in fact recommended it to friends with elderly parents.

We continue to be pleased with the care of and for my mother. Since Mums recent fall there has been good communication and much empathy shown towards my mother. She is very happy on the whole and we are grateful. Thank you.

The home looks after my Mother very well. Her needs are met and the home always involves me in her care. If they need to then they will always contact me if there is a problem or a health issue.
Mum is far more relaxed at the home as opposed to when she lived on her own.
The home manages her
dementia very well.
I have no complaints.

A Wonderful and Caring Home
I cannot speak highly enough of Llys Gwyn. My father has been a resident here for some time, and the quality of care he receives is truly exceptional. The home is always clean, well-maintained, and provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The carers are
consistently respectful, kind, and incredibly helpful. Their dedication to ensuring the residents feel safe, valued, and well looked after is evident in everything they do. Most importantly, my father is genuinely happy here, and that brings great peace of mind to our family.
I wholeheartedly recommend Llys Gwyn to anyone looking for a compassionate and high-quality care environment for their loved ones.

I am very happy with my mum's care at Llys Gwyn, The staff are wonderful, very friendly and caring and the carer who organises the activities is excellent. I never worry that Mum is not being cared for properly, and feel that she is in a safe place.

Dad has been a resident for 3 years now and has received such excellent care from all staff. When I visit dad, I witness how all the staff engage with the other residents with regards to basic conversation and when they seem to be having an off day, how they get them laughing and smiling again. We
are always greeted with, how are you, would you like a drink and a little update on how dad's been.
Dad will always say, they are always looked after, and the staff do a lot for them, he loves them all.
He loves the homemade food and the choices they are offered. He gets involved with the activities and on occasions he calls the bingo and joins in with the singing.
The past few years the home have invested in new furniture, flooring and redecoration, and continue to do so.

Everyone who is employed at Llys Gwyn is friendly, caring and respectful and they have created a happy environment for my mum to live in. It is definitely a home from home. They mark all special events with a party, music and singing. My mum is always very well presented and happy there.

I am very pleased with the care my mum receives at Llys-Gwyn she has settled in very well. It's a calm homely and friendly place and when visiting always offers tea/coffee. Staff chat to you and let you know how mum has been and the activities she has done.

Everything is good, Mum is well cared for and fed well and seems happy even though hard to tell with dementia. No issues. Mum has been here nearly 10 years.

Every time we visit Mam we experience such a great welcome from all the staff, there's never ever a nasty smell, it's like walking into your own home, the whole home is spotlessly clean, Mam in her own way is very happy, the food is always of a good quality too. Please keep up the great service,

The staff at Llys Gwyn are excellent. They are attentive and ensure that my mother is kept safe and clean at all times. They contact me immediately if there are any issues. They know her needs very well and whenever I visit I can see she has been well taken care of.

Mum is very well cared for. She is happy, has enjoyable events and is well looked after. Her personal needs and care are well looked after. This is not the same in all homes - I get to visit various others in a professional capacity often - and whilst Llys Gwyn could do with a lick of paint in
places, that's just structural. The personnel are your greatest asset. The only other 'quibble' I'd have is that the WiFi/cordless phone range to my mum's room leads to impossible calls - and her hearing negates trying to talk to her in the day room as too much noise. Sadly I'm stuck for health reasons in the midlands which can become an issue but probably more from my point of view than Mum's as she's happy.

When admitting my mother to Llys Gwyn, I was delighted with the first meeting which gave me faith and confidence at letting my mum stay there. However, the day I took her in was unnecessarily stressful. It would have been helpful to have been advised beforehand that I would need to inventory her
belongings and put labels on her clothes. Instead, after unpacking everything, I was asked to complete an inventory, which I did. On completion of that, I was then told about the labelling which I didn't have so had to go through everything a third time to add labels. So this is the one piece of advice I would offer. However since then, I am delighted with her care, the wonderful staff and management, I cannot speak highly enough of their wonderful work and it's a pleasure to deal with all of them. Recommend Llys Gwyn, if you can look past the accommodation, the care couldn't be any better.

The staff are kind and caring and the atmosphere is always relaxed. The staff work hard to provide various activities and engage with the residents. They always call if there are any health concerns and keep us very well informed. Very happy with the care provided.

As a resident since 2021, Mum receives the best care possible through her good days and the more challenging days. I'm always kept up to date on anything that crops up whether it's behaviour or medical attention being required. All staff care about the well-being of residents and support families
through the changing circumstances.

We had a lovely Christmas dinner with Mum last week. It was so nice to see her and other residents together and to be able to share a really rather fantastic dinner with them and their families too. Everyone worked hard to make the day bright and special, and I really enjoyed the whole day. I
already felt confident in the care my mum receives, and I do mean care! It's not just a job to anyone there, everyone puts their heart into looking after our loved ones, and I am now and always will be eternally grateful for that.

My dad is receiving good care and is also being looked after. Staff work really hard and are attentive towards his needs. They ensure he eats well and regularly each day. They are all professional and extremely friendly. My family and I are very grateful for all they do.

Very very good staff and management always explain the situation of my wife, and very helpful when I phone. My wife is always clean and tidy and looks well looked after. Nice grounds, staff do understand my situation and care for my well-being.

My dad was struggling to look after himself in the independent living home he had lived in for 4 years. In particular, he needed help with the management of his permanent catheter which was fitted in May 2022. I had a good recommendation about Llys Gwyn, Maudlam from another care home in Porthcawl.
Fortunately, there was a room available and dad moved in almost immediately after viewing. He is happy and well cared for. The staff are very friendly, which has made the move easier.
