My husband's Mum was a resident of El Shammah since Spring 2024. From the outset, the standard of care was exceptional. My Mum in Law was given menu choices to suit her palate, endless cups of tea and biscuits: ideal as food was a big motivator for her,! She received assistance with her activities of daily living - as and when required and requested. Her care was handled extremely respectfully- allowing her to maintain her dignity and independence. Her room and ensuite bathroom was always immaculately clean. Her laundry was taken care of in a first class manner. Most importantly though- The Staff. Every single staff member always greeted you with a welcoming smile. Their diligence with my mother in law's health requirements was second to none. In the event of any fluctuation in her health status, they informed us immediately and acted in her best interests. We want to thank you all for making the last year and a half of her life safe, fulfilled and happy

Whilst the care provided by the staff was in the majority very good we found that the actual wellbeing of the residents was not a priority in the home. Management's focus is on ensuring that the systems and processes are all in place that ensure excellent home inspections are achieved. There is a total lack of any kind of stimulation provided for the residents with many confined to their rooms for long periods. It was a great relief for all the family when we managed to secure a place in another home for my father.
