Staff team very helpful prior to and arranging transfer from hospital. Welcoming and friendly home. Open to us explaining Mum's needs and wishes and involving us in her care plan. Team support family and visitors. Always accommodating of Mum's occasional request for something different at mealtimes.
My family and I are so grateful for the way my husband is cared for. He is relaxed and helped, for his needs. The atmosphere is friendly. Carers/nurses and the admin staff listen to our concerns and my husbands needs. Thank you.
I was recommended James Terry court, and I can honestly say it's everything I hoped it would be; it's a bright, exceptionally clean home, very well run. but what I have found best of all is the care and attention all the staff give to the residents, I was very unsure when having to look for a home that looked after people like my mother who has dementia as to how it would be as I know how challenging it is, but all my worries were soon put aside as she has settled in very well and is very happy. and gets on well with all the staff.
We have been visiting our friend and find this place really friendly, staff welcoming and rooms really pleasant. Food is good! You can feel the care in there. I have used to work in one not so lovely care home in Croydon doing small sessions of massage and I know that James Terry Court delivers. Thank you for looking after our friend well! Highly recommended.
My wife arrived at James Terry Court (JTC)in September 2024, after 11 months in hospital. We expect she will remain here indefinitely. The transition from hospital to nursing home has been very positive. Since arrival, she has been making great progress in recovery. Our experience of JTC is all very positive. There is a strong feeling of community and joy. Other visitors often comment "This place is lovely", which reinforces our opinions too. The food is prepared and served with great care. The carers and nurses are all cheerful and well organised. The activity programme with two activities every day, 7 days a week, provides great stimulus. Mixing with the other residents is also heart warming. We often join her for meals, making our visit extra special. All of these factors, and more, contribute to our feeling that she is in the best possible place. None of this good stuff just happens by magic, it shows that behind the scenes there is good management at work to produce these results.
On visiting my husband's uncle and auntie e found the care to be very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The facilities were excellent. We stayed for lunch for a small fee, again the catering staff put in every effort to make sure the meals were what was wanted plus offering other choices.
My relative initially came to James Terry Court for respite care. At that time she was extremely weak and vulnerable. Within a few weeks, her health and well being had improved tremendously. She enjoyed the food, the company, the garden, the activities, having her nails and hair done, the interaction and care of staff - John Terry Court became her second home. My relative decided to stay on at James Terry Court as she enjoyed everything they had to offer. There were inevitably one or two bumps along the road health wise, but every week a doctor visited the care home and saw any resident they were directed to or requested their attention. This was extremely reassuring for family. Communications between James Terry Court and family were excellent and we could visit at any time. We would always be given a warm welcome. Each member of staff had a specific role and each of them engaged with my relative and carried out their duties diligently and efficiently. James Terry Court was definitely more like a 'home' than a residence.
My mother was shown great kindness, care and patience by all the staff at James Terry Court. And making her final days peaceful and we thank everybody for the kindness, care and assistance shown to my wife and myself.
My mother only got to spend two weeks at James Terry Court after having spent 8 weeks in hospital following a major stroke. I cannot praise the staff highly enough; they were kind and caring and helped maintain her dignity. The biggest thing they offered was to allow my mum to die calmly and peacefully without stress or pain. I cannot thank them enough.
Having been looking around for a care home for my mother, James Terry Court was recommended by a friend. I made a couple of visits to the home prior to bringing my mother to have a look. Each time I was there, I found the home to be spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly, and you could tell that they were passionate about their work. I took my mother to visit the home before agreeing anything, and she was also very impressed with what she saw compared to the last home she was in. Since moving in, my mother's whole attitude has changed, she is now very happy with the home and staff and looks forward to each day as it arrives. She likes the fact that it has an in-house hairdresser, doctor, chiropodist and daily entertainment. The staff keep me updated with any concerns they may have and normally sort things out over the phone. Overall, I'm very happy with the staff at James Terry Court and the assistance they are giving to Mum.
Mum went into James Terry Court in November 2022 until her passing in July 2024. Mum was bedridden and was suffering from epiglottis (trouble swallowing) thus needing constant care a feeding. The nursing staff, office staff, carers and cleaners were very attentive and enjoyed the stories being told about her friends and family. Especially holidays. The nursing staff always kept us updated on mum's condition when we visited or on the telephone especially when put of End of Life care. It was nearly seven months till to got to that stage. James Terry Court provides very good facilities, entertainment and gardens. All in all, they provided care, security and welfare for mum's last couple of years. Mum had just turned 96 when she passed. Thank you again.
Very good experience for my wife, her first time in such a home. She enjoyed her time here, having people around her who understood her physical problems. Overall she feels happy to return if necessary because of conditions in the future.
James Terry Court deserves its excellent rating. They are professional, compassionate, kind and caring and the pictures totally reflect the standards at the home every single day. It’s clean and beautiful. My father had an extraordinary downturn in his health and I went to see James Terry Court sick with worry. Not only did they manage to take him in quickly and efficiently but they have proved to be an incredible support to me as his daughter. Every time I see him, he is clean, healthy, happy and well-fed. James Terry Court has brought him back from the brink of death. To now hear he participates in well-being workouts (despite being in a wheelchair) brings comfort that I made the right choice to cease homecare and put him into a wonderful home where he gets the nursing care and oversight that he needs. All of his visitors speak so highly of James Terry Court, I know that he is in the right place.
Our cousin entered James Terry Court for respite care in order to increase her strength and well-being. She has been extremely happy there. The staff have been wonderful, welcoming, caring, encouraging and inclusive. She has been treated with dignity and respect. Her views and likes/dislikes were listened to. Once she felt well enough, she appreciated the varied activities some of which were participated in, whilst also being able to stay in her room if she felt tired. The balance of being able to choose whether or not to join with other residents or whether to remain in her own room, including on occasions for meals, has been very much appreciated. The care from all staff has been superb. The receptionist even picked up a free newspaper when she travelled to work each morning. The carers have been gentle yet encouraging. The team leaders are superb, going above and beyond expectations in every respect. Our cousin was well looked after medically, mentally, physically and socially.
I had a two-week stay for respite care. I was very well looked after, treated with kindness.
My grandad had a short stay at James Terry Court while the family moved house. He has dementia and was so well cared for at the home. He settled in very well and the staff were all very attentive to his needs. It made our experience of moving house significantly easier.
Support staff are excellent along with the care support staff. Rooms are lovely and always clean. Since the change in the catering contract recently, food provision and quality have gone downhill. Frequently items such are eggs, baked beans, bacon are missing for my breakfast. My sons have to purchase cereal and grapes for my wife! There are problems with clothes going missing when went to the laundry. Long waits for the in house maintenance staff to undertake small jobs such as a dripping tap. My sons when dealing with the headquarters financial staff say they are totally inept when dealing with home payments, making mistakes, causing much frustration and anger. Overall the value for money aspect is below parr.
I would just like to say how very happy I am that Mum is being so well and kindly looked after. The staff are all so helpful that I couldn't have asked for anything more. It has been a huge relief to my sisters and me that the weight has been taken off our shoulders. So many thanks for everything that you do to make Mum's life bearable. With kindest regards.
Since my wife came here I have not had a moment's worry. The care and attention she receives is second to none. The staff seem genuinely to care. In fact, nothing seems to faze them.
