View Full Details of Foxleigh Grove Nursing HomeWe moved my mother to Foxleigh Grove in June 2025 and sadly we lost her 2 months later. My family and I cannot thank everyone at Foxleigh Grove enough for the absolutely brilliant care they took of Mum. I am so happy that her last couple of months were there - she had been bed bound for the last 6 months at home, but the wonderful staff got her out of bed and she was able to enjoy sitting in the gardens and having her meals with other people for the first time in ages. It's a unique place and feels like what it was - a family home. The owners and staff all genuinely care about the residents - they have a brilliant chef and the rooms are all decorated beautifully- it feels more like a boutique hotel than a nursing home. I just wish we had moved her earlier. My daughter had worked briefly at Foxleigh Grove and had said at the time it would be a great option for Mum if she ever needed to leave her own home. She was absolutely right.
I was so happy to have found Foxleigh Grove. The only home I had dealt with that was truthful to me that my mum was at end of life care. My mum was moved there within days of me viewing a room. The staff where welcoming to my mums and family a cuppa was always offered. My mum was only there 6 days but in that time she had the best of care right to the end. Everyone was caring patient and kind. We all felt comfortable there. I would highly recommend this home
A lovely facility with great staff how are only too happy to help. Quality, flexible catering and a range of activities. Nursing care is attentive and of high calibre. Management are approachable and always helpful.
My sister and I are so grateful to Foxleigh for the loving care shown to our mother. She passed away recently and we wish she could have had longer to enjoy the house and gardens. From the moment our mother arrived she felt at ease. Her room was pretty and comfortable, and set up so that she had a view of the garden. Every effort was made to include her, getting her up and dressed and downstairs to join other people. One day she had been taken for a walk in the gardens and the staff picked camellia's for her to take back to her room. We saw that residents were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. On the one hand we saw a lovely range of activities going on and at the same time the nursing care was first-class, and we were very reassured by the end of life care provided for my mother. It's worth saying that we were cared for as well. Tea and coffee was always on offer and we felt relaxed coming and going to be with our mother.
My mother was a resident at Foxleigh from March 2022 until her passing in January 2025. Mum went to Foxleigh initially for respite but it was to become her final home. Mum was a fiercely independent former nurse and care home owner and was reluctant to go into a care home herself. However, the Foxleigh staff won her over and her health improved a great deal from being at home on her own - all thanks for the care and support mum received at the home and all the invigorating banter she enjoyed with the staff. I am very glad that mum had her final days at Foxleigh and I will be always grateful to the staff team that looked after her.
Dad was a resident from April 2021 to November 2024. The staff have always been helpful and friendly. In his last few months dad was unable to do anything for himself, all the the staff treated him with kindness and respect taking time to ensure that he ate something and continued to drink. They are a very caring team of people at Foxfleigh Grove.
Foxleigh Grove is a lovely place. New people are made to feel welcome and settle in quickly. The staff are happy to help and talk with everyone with respect. A good find.
My mother moved to Foxleigh Grove for what turned out to be the last year of her life. I do not believe we could have found better care for her. When she moved in she was able to walk independently in the gardens, and enjoyed having her coffee outside whenever the weather allowed. With encouragement from the staff she joined in with gardening and cookery activities, as well as visits to local coffee shops and garden centers. As she became more infirm she was still able to enjoy the sunny conservatories. When she became too frail to want to leave her room she was looked after with compassion and dignity, and was able pass away peacefully in familiar surroundings.
Mum was at Foxleigh Grove for 3 years. She was extremely well cared for, and was very happy, safe and content there. Foxleigh is very welcoming and homely. It's beautifully decorated throughout with stylish furnishings. The extensive gardens are beautiful, and very well maintained with stunning Plants and trees. There are many bird feeders dotted around. Mum loved to watch the birds visiting from her bed. The home cooked food served is delicious. There are organised Trips Out, Themed days, and Daily entertainment and activities. Such a Warm, friendly, homely, welcoming environment. Mum was Treated with Kindness, Dignity and respect. The Owners and all of the staff are so lovely, compassionate, friendly, understanding, kind and caring. We will miss seeing them. We would definitely Highly recommend Foxleigh Grove to anyone that is looking for care for their loved ones.
Mum had been a resident of Foxleigh Grove for nearly 3 years and was very happy there. She was always enthused about the staff who all treated her with the utmost respect and dignity. Foxleigh Grove has a homely feel about it with lovely gardens and mum loved her room overlooking the garden. We were so pleased that she was transferred from hospital to Foxleigh Grove which she considered home in time for her final moments and we witnessed first-hand the sensitive care and attention the staff gave to her during this time.
Excellent professional care was provided for Mum until the end of her life. All the staff were compassionate and caring whatever their role within the business, took an interest in her wellbeing and she was really happy there.
The staff are all so friendly and patient. The home has a lovely relaxed and welcoming atmosphere too. The grounds are large and well kept with outside seating areas all around for those who are mobile, and there are so many bird feeders! In all, a really excellent and well-run nursing home.
We are so grateful for the care dad received in the final few months of his life when he was a resident at Foxleigh. I wish we had chosen it earlier in his illness. All his nursing and care needs were met conscientiously and with sensitivity and he was accorded dignity and as much autonomy as possible but what made so much difference was the kindness and warmth of all the staff. Every staff member without exception was friendly and welcoming to dad and to us as a family. The communication with the family was excellent. The atmosphere at Foxleigh as a whole was lively and like a real home rather than an institution All the residents we saw and met looked alert, happy and well cared for. It is a horrible situation to be in to see a loved one have to leave independent living in order to go into residential care, but Foxleigh could not have been better given dad's circumstances and I would not hesitate to recommend it.
Dad has been at Foxleigh for almost two years and is so well looked after. It is so important to know that he is safe and cared for. I have been visiting Foxleigh since 2000, my mother-in-law was a resident for 8 years, my aunt for a few weeks, and my dear Mum for her last 10 months. I would highly recommend this family-run nursing home.
My father-in-law is well looked after, he was able to take part in activities whilst his health permitted. The staff know him very well and understand his likes and dislikes. Foxleigh Grove is homely and relaxed and the food is very good and the cakes are lovely. When in the dining room, melas are very sociable. The grounds are pleasant and used well in the summer.
Mum was in Foxleigh Grove for about a year. Although she didn't socialise much and stayed in her room, due to her condition, she was welcomed by other residents who looked out for her. The staff were very patient with Mum and the care was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend Foxleigh Grove.
For nearly 5 years Mum was at Foxleigh Grove so we experienced pre-Covid and post-Covid. Dad visited daily pre-Covid, reducing to 4 days a week post-Covid (dad likes routine). Dad was always impressed with the food, he liked it so much he would finish what Mum could not eat! Dad became part of the furniture and was always welcomed by the staff. A relative social media group developed during Covid (which still is in use) is a helpful way of keeping in touch with the home and finding out what activities the residents are getting up to which always looked fun and well supported. I visited approximately 4 times a year and was always impressed with the staff that I met over the years. When Mum was towards the end of life the management were very helpful and empathetic, I could not have hoped for better. I plan to take Dad back soon to meet the staff as they have been such an important part of his life these last 5 years. Dad and I would not hesitate to recommend Foxleigh Grove.
Very pleasant home and surroundings. Excellent care from kind and attentive staff. Good medical cover. Good programme of activities and outings.
We visited many different care homes to find somewhere for Mum. Foxleigh Grove Nursing Home stands out, not just due to the lovely room they found for her but because of the professionalism, kindness and care shown by the management, nursing and care staff. They were helpful and supportive to us as a family and thoughtful about Mum's care needs, keeping us well informed. We were able to visit as often as we chose and always felt welcome and listened to. After many months of hospital stays and then managing with carers at home, it was such a huge relief for Mum and for all of us that she could spend her final days calmly and peacefully at this wonderful place.
The living situation always feels relaxed and homely. The dining room is welcoming and the food is excellently presented. My experience of the outings is that they are very imaginative and always sound appealing. They are two hours or so duration which seems to suit the participants well.
