View Full Details of The Lawns Care HomeMy wife and I very happy here.
My dad is 94, still living at home. For a couple of months he had been very poorly, which resulted in a couple of hospital stays. Not living close by, we discussed some convalescence care for him following his discharge from hospital. From my very first telephone chat with a member of staff at the Bupa contact centre, we knew The Lawns would be the best place for him to recuperate. At very short notice, they organised a stay for him and went to visit him at home to put a plan in place. Everyone in the team has been amazing, the food beautiful and the care extremely compassionate and friendly. I send my heartfelt thanks to everyone for helping my dad to get his 'oomph' back and for allowing me to rest a little easier knowing he was in excellent hands.
Mum is 99 and after a couple of stays in hospital was unable to return home. Mum has now been at The Lawns Nursing Home for 3 weeks and our initial impressions are very good. Everyone seems patient, attentive, caring and friendly. The manager is available if needed and there is always a friendly face at the nurses station to answer any queries. They regularly check to ensure she is ok. Initially she was unable to eat solid food so the meals were pureed but presented really well. She is now able to eat properly and the variation of meal choices are excellent and all freshly prepared.
I have been very pleased with the care my wife has received over the last 3 months. The staff have been very well trained and are always keen to perform their duties professionally whilst retaining that personal touch. They often have to deal with difficult situations but are able to deal with these in a sympathetic manner. I have also been impressed with the way that the home is organised to provide the necessary care with meticulous record keeping. On a few occasions, my wife has said that her room is not warm enough and we have heard this comment elsewhere. The admin staff, too, have been most helpful.
My father spent 4 years at The Lawns Care Home. The staff were amazing, friendly and always went the extra mile. He felt safe and secure and loved the daily activities provided by the home. In his final days they provided him with love, care and maintained his dignity. Their support to my family during this difficult time was simply 1st class. Thank you!
My husband and I are very pleased with the care and attention his mother gets from from the staff at The Lawns. We know that we are leaving her in safe and caring hands.
My friend who was 97 spent the last two weeks of his life in The Lawns having been discharged from hospital. We were so pleased with how they nursed him at the end of his life. I cannot speak too highly of the nursing care and the overall experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home.
Unfortunately, my mother had to go to hospital for six days after a server nosebleed, but when she returned to The Lawns, the staff were very good, helping her to readjust. I find all the care staff very caring and patient.
The staff are quite attentive. Maybe walk by of rooms could be more frequent - just to check all is ok.
My wife has been a resident at this home for the past three months, receiving full nursing care and round-the-clock assistance due to her inability to leave her bed. From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was evident that The Lawns Care Home prioritises the well-being and comfort of its residents. The staff exude warmth and empathy, creating an atmosphere that feels more like an extended family rather than a clinical facility. Despite the challenges my wife faces in her mobility, the caregivers have gone above and beyond to ensure her comfort and dignity are upheld at all times. The home has exceeded our expectations. The combination of compassionate care and cleanliness makes it a standout choice for anyone seeking a nurturing environment for their loved ones. We are grateful to the staff for their unwavering dedication and care that have shown.
My mother moved into The Lawns Care Home in January 2024. She was made to feel very welcome immediately and is very happy there. The care is excellent and the staff are all so friendly, professional and kind. She really enjoys all the daily activities which are very varied and inclusive. We know she is happy and in safe hands.
Our mum 94 went into The Lawns, grateful to be in a BUPA facility. She is full mind, yet bedridden. The experience was difficult. Mum was in an end room on the 1st floor, staff only came to facilitate her being alive. They fed, watered, changed her. Communication was at times difficult, some days she saw and spoke to no one. Food was delivered cold to her room. I went in daily and witnessed this, as did other family members. Told frequently she is old and dying, and we saw her weight and mental health were faltering, she had fear. May 23 we had to get her out of The Lawns or lose her. Since then, I have communicated upset with The Lawns. I have photos and evidence to back my words. I have been told a full investigation has been done and things have changed. I trust this is the case, as no vulnerable person old or young should have anything other than care and respect and be given the quality of life they deserve. Mum is now 96, in a caring home, essentially healthy, just old but happy. Please be vigilant.
All the staff are friendly and caring. The atmosphere is friendly and activities are varied and enjoyable. The home is kept clean and tidy and very comfortable. The food is wonderful and a different menu for every day.
I had an excellent recovery stay at The Lawns, a three-week stay in total following hip surgery carried out by an 'ACE' surgeon. Met some really nice people, and all the staff were very pleasant just amazing, more to add the tick boxes say it all.
In actual fact, the resident is my ex-husband but that wasn't on the list. Each time I visit with my daughter, I am struck anew by the quality of the care at this home, and last Friday's visit was no exception. The Lawns stands out as being outstanding. The entrance is bright and welcoming, everywhere is spotless, and there is always a friendly face to welcome and answer any queries, and the manager is always available. Each visit I find myself saying, 'This is like a courteous 5-star hotel. I'd like to live here if the time comes when I can't cope alone.' My ex-husband is treated with such professional, expert care which is always carried out with warmth and friendliness. There are activities for him to join in and they are varied to suit all inclinations. The food is excellent, freshly cooked and attractively presented. I cannot praise this home and staff enough. Thank you for all that you do to make one elderly man very happy and content.
My father has been a resident for over 5 years. He is extremely well looked after and he is so happy. I do not have to worry about him. The nurses and carers are very attentive and he has not been in hospital since residing at The Lawns. He has made new friends and enjoys chatting to carers and residents. It is clean and well presented. The care staff and nurses are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Dad has been taken out of the home for trips which has been able to give him a new lease of life and I am so grateful.
My mum has been a resident of The Lawns now for 18 months. She went in initially for 2 weeks of respite care and made it quite clear before going in that it was just a short stay! However, after returning home for just 1 week she told us she wanted to go back. Every single carer and nurse I have ever met on my visits has been kind, caring and professional. Mum loves it there, she hasn't been so happy in years. She feels safe and secure and has so many friends to have meals with and do activities that she loves and loves her carers who genuinely take an interest in her and spend time with her. It is hard to see a parent leave their home and go into care but the carers at The Lawns have made this transition for Mum so much easier. Thanks to you all. You seriously all deserve high praise.
Dad has been at The Lawns for the past 4 months and we are very happy with the nursing care he is receiving. Without exception the staff are friendly and helpful. As far as I am aware all calls to nursing staff have been answered within the 8 minutes response time aimed for by the care home.
My mum has been at The Lawns Care Home for two months and has really enjoyed living here. It was a difficult decision for her to make to leave her lovely flat but she has been so welcomed and feels part of a new family now. They helped her improve her mobility which has helped her be more independent. A big thank you from my mum and from me, I can relax knowing she is safe and well cared for.
Although I have limited experience of care homes I'm sure everyone would want to have the very best and friendliest care for the resident. The staff at the Lawns are so very nice to deal with and I, personally, always feel welcome to visit, and my relative that I visit always seems content, warm, well-fed, healthy and happy. Financially, there have been a few hiccups but these have been sorted pretty swiftly. A welcoming atmosphere with professional staff is key to keeping residents and their loved ones happy and I believe that anyone would be hard-pushed to better the care at The Lawns.
