View Full Details of St George's Care HomeWe are a family with long and very positive experiences of working with St George's Care Home in Cobham. Putting our mother into a dementia care home was a daunting prospect at the start, but we soon realised she was in very good hands. We have all been part of the St George's community for the last 10 years. We really do appreciate everything that the staff have done for Mum and for us over this long period. The St George's team are all so different and come from such varied backgrounds, but they all have the care and wellbeing of the residents at heart. They are a very special team and we really value and appreciate their contribution to all our lives over this last period of Mum's life.
The staff are kind, caring and are good in very many difficult situations.
My wife recently had a choking incident at lunch time and the staff took prompt action for resuscitation and recovery. Had it not been for their professional care the consequence could have been extremely serious. They called an ambulance and my wife recovered later that evening. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. I would like to add that all the carers are of the highest standards.
My Mother was placed in St Georges on 24th Dec 2024 for respite care. All we can say is how incredible the staff are, from the minute we arrived until she left everyone was so kind and compassionate and showered her with so much care. The activities on offer were lovely, animal therapy, staff were all so kind. Even though she was only there for a few short weeks would definitely recommend the care home.
My father has only been at St George's Care Home for 3 nights, but so far he has had an excellent experience, all the staff being very kind, patient and professional. It does feel like a real home which is all we can ask.
Mum recently passed away after spending more than four years at St George's Care Home. The staff are all amazing, supporting her with her personal needs with great dignity and care. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
I want to highlight the experience and care displayed by both carers and nurses, especially with regards to helping improve my mum's appetite and drinking. The nurse joined in a call with external assessors reviewing my mum's care needs, demonstrating their thorough knowledge of my mum's complex needs and cognitive behaviour. The team genuinely care about my mum's well being. Their efforts have had a very positive impact on my mothers health.
My sister and I came to see a very old and dear friend to both of us. We found him in good health and fine spirits. We spent a few hours with him sharing memories and discussing past adventures on our boats. We had a great lunch with him which was lovely. The staff we met were great and friendly. We were joined by two other gentlemen who we also chatted with. And we were treated to a lovely piano recital - very much enjoyed.
Had a lovely morning in the pub with my friend and two other residents. Endless coffee supplied with cakes, delicious! We were offered lunch and had scampy and chips, very nice. One staff member in particular was exceptional, very caring and helpful. All in all a very enjoyable visit.
Very welcoming, friendly staff. Always there to try and help if there's a problem. Overall happy with my father's care and when I visit he is happy too.
Always received by staff with a smile. Passing through corridors all residents happy and peaceful and a very high standard of personal hygiene.
Immensely caring and responsive staff, always going the extra mile, especially the deputy manager. Also, the manager. Both of these people gave me kind support and understanding while providing appropriate care for my lovely husband.
Good welcoming, very friendly staff, helpful. Any problem you tell them and its sorted. Nice care home, residents always look clean/tidy.
My father quickly settled into the Home; his health stabilised, and he has. outlived the assessment given to him by hospital staff prior to his entry to St. George's. This is due to the friendly, supportive, caring and attentive staff. There is a warm, communal feel to the place, which is cosy and comfortable, with news of gardens. There are plenty of activities for residents. Last Christmas the Home was attractively decorated, and birthdays. celebrated too. As far as possible, this seems very much a home-from-home, providing peace, practical and and personal dignity. Visitors are. always welcomed and queries readily answered by administrative and nursing staff. I recommend this home highly, it provides great care and peace of mind.
My next of kin has been a resident for 8 years and has been cared for remarkably. The staff are always friendly and helpful and I know they care for her deeply.
Mum came to St George's from hospital. She was very confused, lonely, unhappy, did not like change. She took quite a time to adjust from her old life since Dad had died and now she is settled, safe and happy. We both enjoy activities, the christmas was brilliant. The staff are great, always say hello and make us feel so welcome. Thank you to all the staff and management for doing such a brilliant job and caring for us all.
When life throws you a curveball and you unexpectedly need the help of strangers, you could not find a better team of people than those at St George’s to help. Every single member of staff, reception, housekeeping, carers, nurses and management go that extra mile. There are no words to express the compassion, kindness, patience and respect that everyone shows, not only to the residents but the visiting family too. Our wishes and concerns were listened to, and we felt so supported. For us as a family, we were comforted knowing that our dad was well cared for when we were not there. His personal care was exemplary, and his medical needs were met thoroughly. We also created some precious memories with the help of the entertainment team. We shall never forget and will be eternally grateful to these very special people who came into our lives, thank you.
This is by far the best home that my father has been in. The staff are amazing, and the level of care he receives is like that from family. The menu is of high standards, and the staff offer drinks, biscuits and cake throughout the day. The peace of mind of knowing he's being very well cared for is comforting in these difficult times as his Dementia takes its toll. Daily activities of crafts, singing, dancing and petting animals are incredible. The staff captured beautiful photos of him and other residents engaging and participating. The weekly trips out to a multitude of locations for tea, cake and more are extremely well-planned and executed. For my father, personally, he will be seeing out his last years living his best life. What more could we ask for? Absolutely Amazing Home!
Mum has consistently received great care since moving to St George's Care Home in January 2019. The staff are always cheerful and attentive and we are always called if there are any issues. Mum is less able now but she has always enjoyed the excellent activity programme.
My husband, who is 87 and has Alzheimer's, was moved to St George's six weeks ago after failing to settle down at another care home. The compassion and attention he has received at St George's have enabled him to adapt to a comfortable life with plenty of company and activity going on around him. I have been consistently impressed with the kindness and 'can do' attitude of all the staff and their determination to give him the personalised care appropriate to his mental and physical needs. Visitors are always made to feel welcome. The home feels like a well-run, friendly and happy organisation and I feel confident that my husband's life is as good as can be expected for someone suffering from this very difficult disease.
