View Full Details of The Old VicarageThe staff are very caring and my mother appears to be happy with her carers, who are working to meet all of her needs. The cook is very friendly and came to apologise to my mother when the food that she'd requested was unavailable. The medical staff have been very good at keeping us informed and along with the other staff caring for us as well. The building is old and repairs are being carried out on it. The lift is old and not always working.
My elderly mother in law is treated with respect and care. The staff are really good with her and give her agency to make decisions. She is comfortable and generally contented. The support we have as relatives from medical staff, particularly nursing staff is excellent. The carers are lovely.
It's very good, food is good and it's the best place for me.
Excellent, everything a resident staying there could need. My wife is comfortable and happy.
I find the staff welcoming and informative each time I visit; they are friendly, and it makes one feel special. I can see that the needs of the residents are well looked after, and they take the time to have a conversation with them. A person's needs are catered for very well. The office staff keep me informed as and when necessary. It is a friendly place with outside space for residents that is safe and secure and I would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.
Our family received excellent support from all the team at the Old Vicarage when my parents required short-term respite care.
The managers and staff at the Old Vicarage are fantastic and could not have done more to make the respite care stay welcoming and comfortable for my parents, even freshly redecorating a double room at short notice for them. It's been so reassuring to know that, during their stay, they have been treated with high standards of care and friendliness. They have particularly enjoyed the lovely meals. Thank you - I'm very grateful.
My wife has been a resident at The Old Vicarage for almost twelve months. She suffers with Alzheimer's and has settled well. I am extremely grateful to all the staff for the care she receives. She is treated with dignity and care. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Because of distance I only manage to visit there times a week and am always given a warm and friendly welcome. It makes life for me so much easier to experience the care and attention we both receive. I am so grateful.
Staff extremely welcoming and very obliging. Amenities eg. hairdresser, nails polished very good. My sister has settled very well and appears to get on well with everyone. They have various activities, music being my sisters favourite, and this happens at various times in the month. It is a pleasure to visit The Old Vicarage.
Everyone shows that they care at all times, not only for the residents but also for the family.
I have found The Old Vicarage Care Home to be friendly and caring. The staff are very accommodating and treat the residents with respect.
My dad was skin and bones when he arrived at The Old Vicarage. They nursed him back to health with good food, love & attention. Not a day goes by without him laughing and smiling with the staff. The whole building is clean & kept tidy. Staff have a lovely rapport with residents & their families. There is entertainment on weekdays, and residents are moved around regularly to mix & socialise with one another. The staff & management are a fabulous team, they genuinely care about their residents.
My dad is adjusting to living here. The staff are all lovely and treat him in a dignified manner at all times. They always respond to any queries I have in a timely manner. My whole family is always made to feel welcome. The home provides lots of stimulating activities.
My mother has been a resident at The Old Vicarage since January 2025. This nursing home was recommended to me due to their outstanding kindness and care. This has definitely been the case.
I honestly can't speak highly enough about the nursing home - everybody is very welcoming and friendly from the moment you enter the building until you are leaving. The staff are absolutely lovely towards my mum. The care and support my mum gets is amazing from the management team and all staff. The cleanliness of my mum's room is always excellent.
A happy welcoming home. Friendly, helpful staff. I am kept informed by email and newsletter. My aunt is very well looked after and is happy with the home.
Excellent location and people to visit. Residents are superbly cared for. Management are brilliant. Staff are excellent. Residents rooms are fully furnished. Very clean throughout the home. Meals are excellent. They make sure the residents are safe and secure. Value for money. There are a range of activities for the residents.
Full 24-hour nursing care required and carried out for quite a difficult patient. Well managed with dignity and understanding.
My dad has been a resident for just under 12 months. He has settled in really well, something I was apprehensive about. The staff are always welcoming and many go over and above to make each resident feel heard and part of what is going on. The rooms are comfortable and we have been able to take Dad's personal items to make it more comfortable. I would recommend The Old Vicarage to anyone in need of residential care.
My mum has been at The Old Vicarage for around 6 months. I'm writing this review because I just saw the review from the past I just wanted to say there are new owners and managers and chefs etc. The home is fantastic. Always improving The Old Vicarage looks after my mum 100%. My mum loves it there, my mum thinks it's her home now and is looked after 100%. We can go there anytime and take our nugget/dog/ to see her at any time: they are so approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I can go on but will stop there just wanted to let everyone know how happy we are.
