There are no words strong enough to express our gratitude and love for The Mount. Mum's room is clean and comfortable; the lounge is a relaxing space to enjoy the varied daily activities (cake decoration today); the gardens are stunning and the food most delicious ( I may have stolen a chip on fish and chip Friday!) All staff are cheerful, enthusiastic, caring and compassionate and their respectful care is a joy to see. I know that mum is in the very best hands.
I am very pleased with the care that my wife receives at Mount House. The staff make every effort to respond to my wife's needs and my wife is very settled at the Mount. The manager leads are very devoted team which includes 3 staff members in particular and another staff member who leads the Care staff. One staff member in particular organises the events and my wife enjoys the music events
Well run care home. Staff friendly and good with residents. Lots of activities to keep the residents engaged. Nursing needs met. Food of good standard. Garden lovely and very accessible for patients. Management listen to family concerns
All the teams very kind and friendly the foods lovely dads put 3 inches on his waist in just 5 months and nearly needs the next size. Its a pretty place and feels more like home rather than being in a home. This weekend was especally fun with the Grand National with large chocolate bars for the winners and an evening get together for the residents too.
First time using a care home for respite - my step-father stayed a week. As he has dementia it was hard to get a reliable opinion from him, but for me it was a positive experience overall, despite an outbreak of suspected norovirus... He was safe, and well catered for by friendly staff.
From the very first day, my dad arrived at the home, the staff/management have been exceptional. They are approachable/caring and extremely helpful in any needs my dad should need. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
My father needed expert help after some years, suffering with Lewy body dementia, and his year spent at Barchester The Mount House & Severn View Care Home was filled with respectful care, good humour and empathy, whilst he became genuinely fond of the characters within the home - the carers were filled with positivity, kindness and patience. Our experience, as a family, has been a very positive one, given the sad decline of my beloved father, his ill health. We lost Dad after several days of palliative care in his room. The Mount was brilliant - thank you.
He has been so much happier since coming here, treated with the utmost kindness. Thank you.
Friendly, caring, resident happy here, felt staff respected her needs. She enjoyed sharing experiences with staff e.g. doing up houses, pregnancies and weddings. Only concern was clothing kept going missing, new system with tag on clothes improved system - when clothes returned put in correct drawers, not just shoved in mixed up, also ironed. Felt the home could be generally cleaner, resident's drawers, tables, water jugs, cups, glasses, bathroom and floors. The financial side is excellent, practical and helpful. For me, I'd like own cups, numerous bought, appreciate need washing together with others but not returned. Activities are good and varied but not used. Overall good.
So impressed with the level of kindness and genuine care displayed by all the staff. A real 'home from home'.
On a recent visit to Barchester The Mount House & Severn View Care Home to see my brother in law, was very impressed from our reception, staff attention, catering for visitors and those being cared for. Would highly recommend Barchester. Well done.
A very friendly and caring home. My very poorly brother-in-law is looked after with kindness and compassion. Everything is very relaxed and visitors made welcome.
My husband has been in Barchester The Mount House & Severn View Care Home since February 2024, he has many and increasing needs. I cannot praise the home enough. The staff are wonderful, patient and kind, knowledgeable and efficient. It feels like a home from home. My husband is as happy there as is possible under the circumstances.
I'm very happy with the care and kindness shown to myself and my husband, nothing is too much trouble. They look after my husband so well and in a crisis are fantastic, I know he is in safe hands. I'm so glad I picked Barchester The Mount House & Severn View Care Home.
Mum has been so well cared for. The staff are amazing.
If you care about your loved one/family member, under no means submit them to a stretch at The Mount. Sure, there are outstanding members of staff (not management) but they quickly get fired for making an effort beyond their job. The rooms are appalling and seldom cleaned. The laundry service is a shambles and the activities are few and far between. Barchester is a national chain and as so, only cares about making money out of your relative. Be prepared in that they charge you for a month even after a resident has departed and they even go so far as to charge for a further week if they sadly pass away. It might be your first port of call or you may have no alternative but please seek the advice of other families and place yourself in a queue for a local, family-run residential home. There are a number with a fantastic reputation. I have never looked back and my mother is fully settled in her new abode, receiving special treatment and is now treated like one of the family.
My mother has been a resident at The Mount House for the last year. During that time, I have found the care to have been consistently excellent. Every member of staff has been welcoming, friendly and caring. The food quality is also consistently excellent. Even though my mother is confined to bed, the activities coordinator has gone out of her way to involve her where she is able.
Both of my parents are in The Mount and I can say how well looked after they both are. All the staff including the manager are lovely, friendly and nothing is too much for them. What I like is, from the time my parents went in (different months) the friendly support that the home/staff have given me, has and still are helping so much for me to accept the change. I can't thank The Mount Care Home enough. This review relates from the time my parents joined The Mount.
Mum has had the most outstanding care whilst at The Mount. The entire staff are always professional and friendly and genuinely cares about Mum and the family. It has been a difficult time for the family, but the staff have shown such care and compassion for Mum and us - nothing was too much trouble. They included Mum in the Carol Sevice in her room; it was so moving and created a beautiful memory for us. We are so grateful to the entire team for Mum's last few days, passing with dignity, pain-free and peace.
