View Full Details of Barons Park Nursing HomeMy dad came to Baron's Park in March 2025 from a hospice ward in a hospital. He had a prognosis of just weeks. However the care, companionship and wonderful nursing he had at Baron's Park meant he rallied, and we had six more months with him. The staff at the home were welcome and friendly from the start. Nothing was too much trouble and they took time to get to know us as well as my dad. Visiting was easy and virtually unlimited and every interaction between staff and my dad was respectful and friendly. My dad was staunchly opposed to going into a care home but had no other option, however, he soon felt so at home there he was happy to be there. On the day he died, I was looked after so well, tea, toast and hugs from the staff who had got to know my dad. The whole experience meant that the end of my dad's life was peaceful, calm and safe. I cannot thank Ryan and the team enough
My mum only had 2 days end of life care at Barons Park but we cannot thank them enough for the sensitivity and respect with which they treated her and the care that they showed to ourselves at what has been a very difficult time. With their guidance, we were able to ensure that she passed in a way that she would have liked, a great comfort to us all. Particular thanks to Ryan, Demi, Steph and Rini (apologies if I have not spelt that correctly!)
My Dad had been a resident of the care home for a couple of years. The staff are extremely very good at caring for the residents. I have had experience of other care homes that previously cared for my dad. I have to say that Barons Park is by far the best care home when it comes to quality of care and putting the residents needs first. The food is very good and the cooks that work in the kitchens are also fantastic. My dad had special diet needs so food needed to be pureed. The care home invested in there kitchen staff to train them to produce this food in a way that it actually resembled what the food should look like. In my opinion if you are looking for a very good care home to look after your loved one then look no further than Barons Park care home. I would happily recommend this care home to anyone.
My Dad was admitted to Barons Park for palliative care. At this difficult time I could not have wished for a better nursing home. The staff were exceptional in caring for my Dad and our family. Nothing was too much trouble and I am so grateful to all of the staff for being there for us all. Keep up the good work guys. Missing our chats and the cup cakes xx
My father was a resident at Barons Park nursing home from August 2023 until March 2025. We had to find a respite bed as a matter of urgency and we were so lucky that the manager at Barons Park reached out to us immediately. Dad always looked cared for - clean, shaven , hair combed and well dressed. The food was lovely- freshly cooked by the catering team on site with lots of it throughout the day. The unit was always clean, tidy and odour-free. Communication was exceptional - the management team were visible, we had very detailed updates about Dad's well being from the carers during our visits and were informed in a timely manner if there were any health concerns. The activities team provide a varied programme for the residents both within the home and further a field. We also found the social media page very useful. The most striking aspect though was the care and compassion that was evident during our visits between the carers and residents - they truly do care for each individual.
My mum has been at Barons for a year now and we have found the staff to ve very caring and look after my mum really well. It is always very clean and the activities available to residents is varied and enjoyed by all. The management do their vest to make the residents lives meaningful and keep family members involved and welcome overall a great job. Thank you all! 24 hour nursing gives us peace of mind!
My Dad has been at Barons Park care home for nearly 5 months now and has settled in really well. Placing my Dad into a care home wasn't an easy decision to make. But on reflection it has been the best thing for him. All the staff treat my Dad with respect and dignity and it really has a homely/family feel to it. He genuinely seems happy there. There are plenty of activities that residents can participate in if they choose to and you can tell that the residents happiness and wellbeing is number one priority for the staff. Any matters relating to Dads condition are always communicated to me in a caring and professional way from either the nurses, carers or manager. The home is clean and my Dad enjoys the food on offer. Overall very pleased.
Nursing care is consistently good The food is excellent with daily variety The activities are various and our father Is able to participate which he clearly enjoys. He has also been taken on a variety of excursions which he has enjoyed despite advanced Alzheimer's dementia. Our father is well cared for and his needs met The staff are caring and kind and always keep us updated
Wonderful care and advocacy from the manager, clinical lead and care staff. During a meeting they were brilliant in advocating for my mum and me. Thank you. The care that she receives in the home is second to none. The carers are compassionate and take pride in their jobs.
Initial contact with this care home was reassuring, the staff were friendly and professional and we felt reassured. Our first impressions were good and continue to be so. Very positive attitude with a can-do ethos, have only observed good standards of care and we are more than happy with all aspects of care/support we receive.
Mum had only been with you for six months, the care and love she received throughout showed each time I visited. She was a character and will leave a hole in many hearts. All staff were very helpful, nothing too much trouble and treated everyone as family. Thank you for the care she received always.
We could not have hoped for a better end to my father's life.
Following a traumatic experience in a previous residential home, which left my husband fighting for his life in hospital, he was transferred to Barons Park Nursing Home which the family felt was a Godsend! The overall care, from the cleaners and laundry staff to the carers helping with meals and the nursing delivered by the medical team, I found was given with patience and understanding. The aim was to make my husband as comfortable as he could be and it showed. I will be ever grateful.
Mum was a resident of Barons Park Nursing Home in March 2024. As a family, we were apprehensive about her going into a nursing home but we were struggling to cope at home. Mum was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity by everyone she came into contact with at Barons Park. We, as family members, were fully informed about Mum's care. The home was always very clean and warm. Genuinely nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The social activities were varied and very appropriate. When Mum passed, we were fully supported. A terribly, sad difficult time was definitely made easier by being at Barons Park. Many thanks to the manager and the rest of the team for everything. Would definitely recommend this home.
My father-in-law was moved into Barons Park and he has flourished beyond belief. All members of staff are caring, compassionate and always helpful. He is involved in all activities, which are well organised and safely executed. Such a friendly, clean place.
I was daughter-in-law of a resident who died in the home recently. During the time she was there her care was excellent. They tried to motivate her and encourage her to socialise. We felt fully informed of what was happening and the manager especially was open and approachable. Excellent work - keep it up! Thanks.
Never been disappointed by anything whenever visiting the home. Atmosphere, cleanliness always 100%. Seeing the enjoyment on the faces of all included in activities is lovely.
The most caring team you could ever wish to meet. We would leave every night feeling reassured that Mum was in safe hands. All of the staff went above and beyond and tailored themselves to Mum's needs. We could not have asked for more.
Dad moved to Barons Park in lockdown so we weren’t able to view the home, but came with good recommendations. Dad came to the home with some challenging behaviours and the staff have handled these well. Dad is happy, well cared for, the staff love him. From staff to management everyone is lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I’m kept up to date with any changes concerning Dad. I would recommend this home.
My grandad was a truly amazing man who deserved the best care, dignity and respect and I can honestly say this was delivered at Barons Park Nursing Home. He was here for his last few weeks and the staff were brilliant with him, despite rapid deterioration, engaging with his care needs and our family. For me, I've seen a lot of caregivers not so worried and quite neglectful of patients with dementia because they can't communicate so well or have these complex needs but not here, I never worried he wasn't being looked after right. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at the care home, they should be very proud of their high standards of care, communication with relatives and all-round support. We had a tough time but they made it easier.
