Stay away!!
My mum arrived in December 2024.
Her old care home closed for refurbishment so she was moved there with little notice.
Five managers in one year, no consistency or proper management. Care home notes consisted of large gaps where days were missed with no information recorded.
2
safeguarding issues raised by myself in last 12 months one in February 2025 and one in August 2025 for Sores on mum the staff knew NOTHING ABOUT despite care notes saying she had a full body wash each morning!
During the process of mum moving back to original care home following refurbishment, the staff, during her assessment, were not able to confirm whether or not she had had any falls in the last 12 months.
The manager at that time (no. 5) was not even aware of either of the 2 previous safeguarding issues that had been fully investigated.
Meetings taking place about my mum and that was not made aware of despite me having POA for her health and welfare. I would not put a relative in this home.

My husband has been at Ashfield N/H for the last 6 months and whilst here has received excellent care in every way. He appears to be very happy here even if he cannot express this verbally. As a family we are extremely happy with his care and are always included in all aspects of his care. We are
assured that he is in a very well-run care home.

My mum has been in residence at Ashfield Nursing Home for a number of years now. During this time, I have experienced nothing but positiveness from all the staff with regards to caring for my mum. Always kind, thoughtful, loving and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot praise them enough.

I’ve just felt it’s now the time to speak up a year after my dad died at 1 pm on this day. I’m also going to get in touch with the papers.
When I was with my dad as they called us in it was while the pandemic was on. There is a nurse who was treating me badly. I’m sat by my dad as he was dying,
she came bursting through the door barking 'apron on now', even though she could see I had one on which was disgusting behaviour from her. Then on the day my dad died, just about to take his last breath this lady (who was a nurse there at the time) and the manager came through the door because we’d wipe my father's lips. They both came in barking 'you can’t do that, you are stopping us from doing our job'. It was one of those pink lollipop things with water on. How dare they do that as my dad is about to take his last breath. This care home has staff and management who have absolutely no decorum and disgusting behaviour.

When we moved Mum into Ashfield Nursing Home two years ago, the home was under 'special measures', and we as a family were very unsure whether Mum would settle. The manager reassured us and informed us of the changes she was making. We needn't have worried because from day one, the care Mum has
received has been excellent in all departments. All the staff are wonderful and Mum's care is exceptional. I have no doubt whatsoever that the manager has turned Ashfield into the best Nursing Home in the area. It deserves an 'Outstanding' review in their next CQC Inspection.

I spent the weekend over at my friends house who I haven’t seen for a couple of years, unfortunately, her mother is not well and I visited her in this care home along with my friend, and I was amazed by the outstanding care that I witnessed, the home smelt lovely, it was warm and cosy, and you could
see every member of staff had so much care towards all the residents within the home. You could tell the home and great management and was defiantly more like a home than a workplace. Good work Ashfield nursing home.

Very much impressed by the manager and her team, a genuine caring team who respect each resident and show and give the utmost care. My dad was recently hospitalised, I was advised immediately with their concerns and the manager ensure she kept in contact with me, showing care and support to Dad and
myself, even visiting him and brining in clothing etc. I am kept informed of Dad's health, any concerns or positives. Fabulous nursing home.

Looking through my eyes the changes and hard work that have been made over the last 8 months have been amazing. Today they had a singer in and the faces on each service user said it all. All I can say is keep up the amazing work you do!

All staff I came into contact were extremely courteous and made my wife and I feel very welcome while we were there. As it was our first visit, I requested a quick talk with the nurse. I was greeted by both the nurse and the manager of the home. Both knew my aunty very well and I could tell she was
in good hands. Have visited a few palliative care homes in the past and I must say I could not recommend Ashfield highly enough. Great job staff and thank you.

I am very pleased with the way my husband is looked after. He gets very agitated and noisy but the carers are very patient and caring. I have never seen him neglected or ignored.
When he was first admitted, they went out of their way to help him when he was extremely unsettled, especially at
night time. He does not get involved in activities but is encouraged to try.
