View Full Details of Elmbank Nursing HomeOur mum has dementia and went in hospital then to Elmbank respite care, we were desperate to find a caring wonderful care home, after searching for ages I came across Elmbank care home. The house manager is amazing and helped us settle in our mum with so much care and fun. She loves it there and feels so safe and looked after by the beautiful care team! Thank you thank you for making me my mums daughter again and not her carer!
I highly recommend Elmbank and the staff there. They are caring and diligent in their everyday management of the residents. My mother was with them for nearly a year and a half. Mum had full blown Alzheimer, she did not recognise food, could not communicate. nor indicate she was in any discomfort. Complex issues to say the least. The previous care-home that mum was at, had virtually starved her, along with many other things. To cut the long story short. My mother looked healthier at Elmbank, hours before her death (when I last saw mum) than when she left her other decrepit care-home a year and a half ago. The manager (and her team) managed to get mum into a daily routine making sure that mum took food and fluids. Mum never smelt of urine at Elmbank (unlike the previous care-home.) nor did her room, or indeed the establishment itself, smell squalid. Highly recommended.
The Manager and her team are amazing. The home is always clean, the residents are happy and well cared for. The team have always respected my families cultural needs - they understand that they want to eat pasta and other dishes from their home country as well as the regular dishes the home provides. The staff are friendly and dedicated to the care of all the residents. The manager is always happy to discuss how my family is getting on and knows all about the day they have had. The team also addresses the medical needs of my family with professionalism, empathy and understanding meaning that my family have always been comfortable and content in the home and have never been left in discomfort due to the staffs training and routine within the home. I would highly recommend this home for any families who want a safe and happy place for their loved ones who need the additional help and care during the later stages of their lives.
It is very stressful to find what you believe to be a good nursing home for the final months of your loved ones life. From the moment we stepped into Elmbank we could feel the warmth and care towards the residents and felt reassured that my mum would be well looked after. The manager sensed my worry and said "trust me, I promise we will look after your mum" She lived up to that promise. My mum was looked after and ended up becoming friendly with the staff and felt she had a very close bond with some in particular The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, caring and often went beyond to make sure my mum was as comfortable and as happy as she could be. I feel confident I made a good decision and would have no hesitation in recommending Elmbank to anyone looking for a nursing home for their loved one.
Very professional staff with a charming and courteous demeanor towards staff, residents and guests. They are very helpful and display a lovely nature to help. Staff are easy to converse with and communicate ones feelings and ongoing care for my mum. I consider myself very lucky to have wonderful and competent people to look after my mum.
My stepmother resides at Elmbank Nursing Home, sadly shorted than we expected, but she found some happiness and friends there. Her bedroom was decorated to her liking and staff assisted her on some outings. Thank you for making her last few months of life happy.
My mum was on end of life. Everyone in the nursing home was lovely and gave wonderful care to my mum. Thank you to everyone.
My father has been a resident at Elmbank Nursing Home for 4 years. Whilst he has forgotten much of his life before going to Elmbank he is now getting more enjoyment from the life he has now than when he was at home. He is safe and clean and well cared for. He receives affectionate attention from the staff. I am happy that he is a resident at Elmbank
My mum has been at Elbank for over 12 months. All the staff treat her with care and respect. They get her up and dressed each day and encourage her to take part in activities and meals out for example at Christmas. The rooms are clean and so are the bathrooms and toilets. My mom is always dressed in clean clothes. She has put on the weight she had previously lost as her food and fluid intake are monitored. The meals I have seen provided seem adequate. There is a daily menu board which seems varied. If there are any health issues or concerns I am promptly contacted. I would recommend this facility to others.
I have no complaints about anyone who works here. They are friendly and helpful at all times, work well with other people show caring concern at times feeding when needed, plenty of caring regarding warmth, and plenty of liquids and just generally caring. In fact, I have no complaints at all regarding the care at this centre. I have received plenty of care and attention at all times regarding my husband.
During my aunt's stay the care has been marvellous. The difference in her well-being from being in the hospital to moving to the Elmbank Care Home has been amazing. I have been very impressed when visiting to watch how other residents are cared for. My aunt is very happy and settled at Elmbank and the family and I are very grateful to have found my aunt's 'new home'.
My friends in here and in general all the staff at Elmbank are very friendly, helpful and caring for the residents. It is nice to see activities for them and they all enjoy themselves. The choice of food at meal times looks very good and displayed very well. As a suggestion, it would be helpful for the members of staff to wear ID badges as it would enable visitors to address them by name. Great service.
My mum has been a resident at Elmbank for over 3 years. She entered during Covid at a point where I was unable to visit the home in advance. What I appreciate now, however, is that it can be difficult on an initial visit to see beyond the 'cushions and the curtains'. Of course it's important that my mum is in a nice environment, but the most important thing is the leadership, the staff and the care provided. I really can't speak highly enough for the leadership, culture, and staff at Elmbank. They are very professional, transparent if anything goes wrong and, above all, they are genuinely caring. Mum now has profound dementia and is very fragile, but I never worry about her. On the contrary, I feel that she lives in a loving home.
Mum was treated with care and compassion. The food and the care were excellent. The manager was exceptional, she was on the ball, very approachable and a very caring lady. The actual home (cosmetics) could do with some TLC but we looked beyond that and chose this home having observed the way the staff supported and cared for the residents.
Excellent home, very caring staff.
I have only visited Elmbank once and previous communications by email. I have gained a favourable impression. Staff were smiling and caring to residents, colleagues and me. Whilst obviously small physically, a homely atmosphere predominated. It is reassuring for family members to observe pleasant manner from staff to residents. I appreciate the demands and challenges of looking after our elderly who can be difficult at times. Keep up the caring vibe. It is good.
Mum was taken into hospital and came back with a mark on her head. Everyone has been amazing with Mum and they are slowing healing. If I have any concerns or worries I know that they will be dealt with and information passed on. I cannot recommend them enough.
Over several years my mum has received excellent nursing care at Elmbank. The staff are always attentive to her needs. Her healthy appetite is a testimony to the very good catering provision. Communication with me concerning my mums care or medical intervention has always been excellent. I would say that Elm Bank has a real family atmosphere and would certainly recommend the care home to others.
I and all our family are very happy with the care our sister receives at Elmbank. She has been here for over a year and we consider we are very fortunate to have found Elmbank. We are regular visitors, arriving at different times and have always found her well an cared for when we arrive. The staff are great and the managers very approachable and has an open door policy if we are concerned about anything.
The management and staff of Elmbank have looked after my wife for two years. They are caring and skilled and have an overriding concern for the comfort and well being of the residents. Entertainment, excursions (where appropriate) and other activities are regularly arranged and the constant supervision of the nurses of duty ensure the good health of residents is maintained and appropriately referred to the GP or ambulance service. Before selecting Elmbank, I visited seven others and had no difficulty selecting Elmbank.
