We moved Mum in to Orchard Nursing in early Jan 2026, and have nothing but praise for the home. It's cleaned regularly. Carers always have a smile on their face and always willing to help Mum in anyway she needs. If I was to criticise anything, it would be, it takes a while for the door to be
answered, BUT. I'd rather wait at the door whilst carers are dealing with a residents needs than leaving them to answer the door.

The staff of the Orchard Care Home are skilled, professional, hardworking, and most of all compassionate. My husband's illness took him both to the residential and to the nursing side, and I witnessed their patience and kindness every day I visited. I felt that they were genuinely fond of him, and
this was what was most important to me, and I believe to him too. They took trouble to find out about his life before dementia claimed him. Whenever there was the slightest concern about his health they let me know, and had medics and nurses out as soon as they could.
The Victorian building is located in a peaceful corner of Huyton Village, surrounded by trees on all sides.

Home had a lovely relaxing vibe,
staff were extremely friendly.
Home looked really clean. All staff were very helpful.
Home on the outside has stunning grounds and lovely garden really could not praise staff enough very friendly and relaxed environment.

Our experience of nursing care in this placement was so very poor. Care plans were not followed and entreaties to have these followed were met with unresponsiveness and a determination to have the poor standards of the staff prevail. These standards were perceived to be poor with poor toileting
practices, pads not changed for lengthy periods and poor adherence to cleanliness and bathing. The minimum is done at all times. There can be lengthy wait for buzzers to be answered and poor staffing on floors. The lift was broken for a lengthy time entrapping upper residents for days in a severe restriction of liberty. Social activities for residents are minimal. Clothes are lost and seen on other residents and dentures and glasses lost without care. Our confidence in the nursing staff was non-existent and their responsiveness to concerns negative. The culture is so poor and set from the top. Complaints led to a revenge eviction. The experience of this placement devastated this family

I just want to thank everyone that looked after are mum,we lost her on Sunday she was so precious to us.the care she got from day staff to night staff was second to none. She smiled at all of you we came away knowing are mum was safe we will never forget you.

My husband was in here for short term respite. I couldn't praise the Orchard more. They gave my husband excellent care. I always felt he was safe!
I could not have picked a better home. Manager, nurses care workers gave myself and my husband the most excellent care.
Would highly recommend the

My nan has been in this home for nearly two years and has said how happy she is there. Ideally she would love to be at home but is happy with the care she recieves. My grandad is always welcome. The manager will help and support the family whenever needed.

I cannot fault the staff/management in the care of my aunt. They treat her with respect/dignity and the utmost care.
The home is always clean and fresh-smelling. All the staff are pleasant and polite and extremely helpful.

Thank you so much to all the lovely amazing staff at the Orchard who have cared for my dad for the past few months.
It's been a tough few months, but the fantastic help from all the staff including chefs, cleaners, carers, nurses, managers, admin, and hairdresser Dad has managed to move to
sheltered accommodation today, thanks to all the staff for getting him better.
He has 24/7 care and has made friends forever.

I visit my bedbound auntie, aged 92 years old. The care home is very nice all the staff are caring and polite and give my auntie great care. She is always well-fed and clean and all her medical care taken care of. The home is a safe environment. 24-hour nurse. The home has lovely surroundings i.e.
garden benches to sit outside.

Dad was admitted into respite in October 2024 and was welcomed with open arms. Staff are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I can tell staff who deal with Dad care about the residents and their needs. The care home is clean and always smells fresh. We have as a family decided this
will be a permanent move for Dad and the manager Ann has made this difficult decision easier for myself and my sister.

Excellent care while Mum was in respite care. Staff were very professional and caring. Mum has been settled and extremely well cared for in a safe and secure environment with all her needs met. Thank you so much to every member of staff.

My mum has been a resident since December 2022 and has settled very well and always appears happy and content when I visit. Staff are always very polite, and they have a good rapport with Mum. I think my only niggle is that sometimes staff have not ensured she has her denture in when she's assisted
with getting up. The laundry staff takes great care of her clothes, always very well cared for.

Staff are very caring and are always happy to assist with any issues or concerns,
rooms are kept clean and tidy.
My mother-in-law is always clean and tidy and fresh and clean clothes on each visit.
Staff have treated her with dignity & respect staff are always wearing their uniform and PPE when
needed.

The care my mum has received so far has been fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble, staff are so friendly and caring, even on the days when we aren't able to visit and we ring to check how she is doing - they are very helpful.
The care home is lovely and clean and fresh smelling. The staff who are
cleaning the home are also so friendly with the residents. It's a home-from-home feel.

My nan has been in respite for six weeks. She has been cared for so well at Orchard. My grandad visits daily; he is made to feel so welcome by the staff, even offered a meal while is there. Her mobility has improved, and she is looking forward to returning home in the next week. She is happy with
her room. Staff are really kind and caring. Would highly recommend.
