The care home is well kept and clean, and the rooms are tidy and comfortable. The staff are very helpful, friendly and caring, but it does seem that it is a little under staffed at times. I'm kept regularly informed on my mum's condition and consulted immediately if anything occurs or if she needs anything. In general, I'm pleased with the care she receives at Saxondale.

Whilst the home looks tired from the outside , inside it is clean , Senior nurse was open and honest re the CQC reviews and steps being taken to address record keeping . Staff looking after my Dad have been caring , taken time to get to know his needs and how he communicates them. Dad is always clean washed and shaved . His meals have to be individually prepared and he gags put on a bit of weight since being there . My mum still likes to take him something she has made when she visits and this is never a problem . My daughter visits and takes her dog also not a problem . There is a consistent main care team supported by Agency staff which does mean there are always new faces. Although Dad's carer when he had 1to1 was the same person . Dad has been there just over a month and so far we are pleased with the care he is getting . He has Alzheimer's, poor hearing , vision , speech and now struggles to stand unaided . Following two strokes and a seizure in April / May this year .

0verall there has been an improvement with systems in place for visitors entering and leaving the care home. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The standard of care has varied from agency carer to carer as I feel attention to detail has not always been accountable. For instance, knowing what a nail brush is for, or a feminine hygiene spray is for. The food and menu has been varied and enjoyed. The building itself is looking more cared for and the maintenance chap does a great job. Just outside that needs more attention perhaps. One criticism would be that the returned laundry isn't always the owners! Perhaps putting socks or underwear in a laundry bag with the room number or residents name on would make sure these items were returned to the proper owner? There has been several occasions when mum has clothes that don't belong to her on, or in her wardrobe and she has plenty of her own, with names in.

My dad has only been in the care home a short while and he has been well looked after and treated with respect. The staff are very professional in their work and could not find any bad points. My dad loves the company of the staff and has not uttered a single gripe.

Whilst my hushand has been in Saxondale he has and is having wonderful care with dedicated staff on a one to one plan. I am always kept up to date with any medical needs. He is also very comfortable in the home

My mam is well looked after. If it was not for Saxondale, I think she would have passed away a long time ago. She could not look after herself, and I could not be there all the time.

Mum has extremely complex care needs and is non-communicative. All staff show her love and compassion, and I am kept up to date with any changes in her condition or medical requirements. She is in a safe environment and is always clean and well-presented when I visit her. I am extremely happy with the level of care she receives on a day-to-day basis.

Dad was admitted to Saxondale late last year. He has received amazing care from the staff. Everybody has been extremely welcoming, and this has ensures Dad has settled really well.

Staff are always friendly; they always get a smile from my dad. I am informed of any appointments and given the opportunity to support him to them. There was a recent incident, and this was reported to the appropriate agencies and action is taken. I am happy that my dad is supported and safe.

Outstanding service! Staff treat my mother with tremendous respect, care, kindness and responsibility. They also create a very warm and caring environment for families visiting residents.

Staff always have time to discuss my husband and any concerns. They have his best interest and try everything they can to feed him and make sure he is safe.

I would recommend this care home to friends and family. It is clean and odour-free, and residents are kept clean and happy. Always plenty of carers on hand; they have empathy and sympathy.

Sadly I could not con tube the care my husband needed, but Saxondale has more than taken over my place. Not only do the staff give him all the loving care he deserves and needs, but they are also so very kind to me too and the rest of the family.

I would like to take this opportunity to express how impressive the team are at Saxondale. They keep you clearly informed of any changes to health or matters of concern keeping everything at the correct level of detail. The members of staff I have had experience with show a great deal of compassion and care. I have seen great improvement in my uncle since he became a resident at Saxondale which is all down to the staff managing his personal hygiene and care. They appreciate my uncles wish to limit the amount of additional medical attention. He is very happy to take guidance from Saxondale and I see a happier, relaxed more contented person.

Saxondale is an amazing place. The management and staff provide excellent, professional care to all residents. They know all the resident's individual needs and personalities and adjust their approaches accordingly. They are outstanding. Residents are treated with respect, love and most of all, dignity. The home has been kept Covid free during this horrible pandemic, for which we will always be extremely grateful.

Currently sat opposite Mum on a face to face basis. My dad is here too. Saxondale provides us with the family to see Mum in a safe environment. They always make us welcome. Mum is in great spirits and well looked after. Saxondale is the best.

Excellent care home. They treat my mum, who has advanced Alzheimer's, as a member of their own family. We can't thank them enough for all they've done to keep my mum and all the other residents safe and well during this past horrible year. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff.

We are delighted with the care and compassion my mum has received at Saxondale. The staff are fantastic; they treat everyone with love and kindness, nothing is too much for them. They have looked after all the residents and kept the home Covid-free. The manager is a real asset to the home. The home is under refurbishing, and it looks lovely.
