View Full Details of Cherry Trees Care HomeAs a family it was the most important decision we ever had to make, deciding on where our precious, wonderful, loving father would reside and call his home in the latter years of his life. Getting him in to Cherrytree's was without a doubt the best decision we ever made. The management and staff not only made our Dads stay with them a wonderful experience, they also welcomed us, his family, with open arms. Dad was treated with upmost respect, he was always so well presented, clean, stimulated and happy. The management and staff could not have been more helpful, dealing with all situations professionally and swiftly. Dad's last days in Cherrytree's will always be a time that we will be forever grateful to everyone there in Cherrytree's for. Everyone went above and beyond their roles, allowing us to share Dads final week of life feeling totally supported and loved. An experience i will always treasure and be thankful to Sharon and all the staff for. Keep up the great work.
I find this home extremely well managed, staff are very good, I have visited at different times of the day over a 7 day period due to my work, I have never ever experienced any negatives from this home or its staff. From a medical point of view they are always spot on and take the correct action to gain medical advice and attention for my mum. I find the negativity quite odd and sad really. I can only say I really like this home and all the staff, I feel my mum is very well cared for and kept fully up to date, I will certainly be keeping my mum in this care home. Keep up the excellent work to an amazing team and manager.
Our beloved dad was treated with dignity, love, kindness, and respect by everyone at Cherry Tree. I have nothing but huge thanks to every one of you. We went most days to see our dad and although he had Alzheimer's we knew dad felt loved by each and every one of you .Dad sadly passed away in August with us all around him. Indeed we stayed there a number of days and nights. I don't have enough words to reflect the absolute dignity and care dad and us all were given throughout. Myself and my brothers and sisters will never, ever forget it. You all went above and beyond. If there were 100 stars you would get that from me. Thank you to the manager and all the wonderful team you are professionals who care deeply about getting things right. You certainly did that for our magical dad and us all .
I would not recommend this care home. I have experienced extreme decline in my friend whilst at Cherrytrees. This has been decline in mental and physical health. What's more concerning is the lack of stimulation in this care home for the residents. I have to agree with another review and it does smell of urine in here. It does knock you back when you walk down the corridors. Some of the staff and the manager is unfriendly. I'm not one for leaving negative reviews but it's got to be said and I do agree with the other negative reviews. I would not place my loved one in this care home. Be very careful when choosing.
My father was initially placed into this carehome on an emergency respite basis. The deterioration which took place in this carehome with my father was nothing short of shocking. I have never seen a person deteriorate so quickly. Not surprising really. I had to fight to get him out of bed. He'd be laid in bed all day if I didn't keep ontop of the staff to get him out. It was more noticable when short staffed especially at the weekends. It got to the point where formal complaints had to be made to get the most basic of needs met. Managers don't seem to understand the importance of even the basics of stimulation in people suffering with dementia or Alzheimers. It seems as though they keep people in bed for ease. I can honestly say I have never seen as many people rapidly deteriorate or pass away as in this carehome. Being even more noticable as the individuals appeared physically fit upon entry, albeit suffering from dementia or Alzheimers. I would not recommend this carehome.
I find the caregivers to be very caring, very professional and always wanting the best for residents. It's homely, food is good & rooms are more than adequate. Cleanliness is a priority & there are many activities arranged to stimulate residents.
My mother came to Cherry Trees last summer and she settled in really quickly with the help of both staff/carers and other members/residents of the care home. It's not easy to settle when you have been so independent, but times were changing and therefore challenging for Mum. She needed help and care 24/7, and I'm so pleased to say that she has had this from everyone at Cherry Trees. She has been shown love and lots of professional care from every carer that she is in contact with
Dad has now spent around 12 months at Cherry Trees after sadly not been able to continue living at his home all alone. Firstly he was admitted on to the residential side even though he was suffering from dementia, but recently he has been moved over on to the dementia unit. I cannot speak highly enough of how he is been looked after, from the caring, friendly staff, to the activities they provide for the lovely residents they look after. It is so comforting to know dad is receiving the care that he deserves in his later days. Thank you Cherry Trees!
Personally I do not agree or recognise some of the negative reviews on here but everyone is different !! From personal experience I cannot praise the manager and the team highly enough. Putting our dad into care was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. Dad and us as a family, were always treated with care, kindness and respect. Yes it's not the same as being at home and it tugs at every heart string but we went to visit every day and at different times so we were able to form a good picture of the standard of care he received. Dad was contented and happy and we will always be grateful to his carers and everyone at cherry trees who he formed a real bond with. 3 members of staff in paritucal are always available to listen and don't hide away like some care home managers.
I often look at Cherry Trees website page or social media to see what's still going on after losing my dad in January. My father was in the home for nearly 2 years. I am shocked and stunned at the terrible things that people have written about the care home and I can honestly say I have no idea When these things could possibly have happened. I spent much time with my father in the home and I had to say without exception he was loved and cared for and looked after. He had severe dementia and was always treated with the upmost respect. I never came to see him when he didn't have a shirt and tie on which they were used to seeing him in to the moment he passed away. He had a shave in the morning and was beautifully clean. The staff can do no more than they do. They arrange fantastic things for the residence to do under very hard circumstances with lots of different needs of each patient. The cleaners are just incredibly amazing. I can rest knowing he had the very best care home
Since my husband was admitted to Cherry Trees, he has been treated with the utmost care, dignity and respect and always with genuine warmth, humour and affection, this commitment to delivering the best care for him has not waivered despite his fluctuations in mood swings brought on by his condition. Visiting family members are greeted with warmth and humour and offers of hospitality are usual. Communication is excellent, calling me whenever they have a query or my husband needs anything. My partner often speaks highly of the cook's varied cuisine and has good positive relationships with the staff which is a comfort as he is the youngest resident and his condition has caused him to remain largely in his room despite everyones best efforts. One member of staff in particular knows him so well and he enjoys her company which helps so much in enabling the rest of the staff to meet his needs when he is least cooperative. The overall feel within the home is that of family which gives me great comfort.
My mom was a resident in Cherry Trees Care Home for nearly 2 years. All of the staff cared for my mom dearly every day. They were always polite, the care home was always clean and was never smelly. There were often singers who came to entertain the residents and always things to do. All of the residents were cared for and happy. I never left Cherry trees worried about my mom, I knee she was always cared for, which is not the experience we have had in previous care. Cherry trees is a lovely place to be for your loved ones.
I would not recommend this care home to anyone. The smell of Urine when you walk through the doors knock you back and the residents look disheveled and unkempt. Some of the staff are very unfriendly too especially whenever you ask questions. I dreaded going to see my loved ones in this care home as every time I went they looked like they had deteriorated and they looked very dirty too. The residents always look miserable which is not surprising when you hear the carers shouting at the residents because they sometimes get up out of their chairs. This is not a nice care home. Please think seriously before considering this place.
I am staying at cherry trees at the moment and I am so happy with the care I'm getting at the moment the care team are very kind the attention to our care needs is excellent my room is comfortable and clean and the food is nice as well I'm only here for a short time on respite but if I had to come long term cherry trees would be my 1st and only choice ...
My mum is a resident in this carehome and I will be moving her as soon as practicable. I don't think this care home is by far worth the money. My elderly vulnerable mum managed to escape from this carehome during the night and fortunately a member of public found her outside the building. Consequences don't bare thinking about if it hadn't been for a kind member of public bringing her back. Safety leaves a lot to be desired here. My experience of management intervention is poor and obstructive whenever you raise concerns. I have also had concerns over the safety and allocation of medications in this carehome due to my mum experiencing episodes of extreme drowsiness.
My auntie has lived at Cherry Trees Care Home for 6 years and quickly came to regard it as her home. She was on the assisted living wing and received the best care as her needs increased. My auntie had her 100th birthday during Covid, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that she had a fabulous day in the garden, with her family and friends and a wonderful singer entertaining us all with all the old songs. Her 104th birthday, last June, was just as special and enjoyed by all. As my auntie was approaching the end of her life, the staff were extra vigilant for her needs and ensured that her passing was peaceful and dignified. I speak for the family when I say a big thank you for all involved in my aunties care. You are all amazing.
Dad had lived in Cherry Trees Care Home for over 6 years. It was his home and the staff became his family. During Covid, when life was difficult, knowing he was looked after, was one less thing to stress about. Care for the residents has always been paramount without a doubt. Any issues regarding dad, we were notified about and proper procedures were always followed. Dad passed away peacefully last month at Cherry Trees and through this really heartbreaking time, once again, we were supported by everyone there. I would also like to thank the manager for always being supportive and extremely kind nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you from all of dad's family.
Our father has now been in Cherry Trees Care Home as a resident for just over 12 months. The care he has received has been exceptional, the love, care, and attention from all the staff has enabled him to feel safe and secure and at home. We would like to say thank you to all the staff from my father's family for all the care and support you have given.
Found the whole team friendly and helpful. Quick to respond to client's needs and requests. Facilities and rooms are always clean and tidy. Have participated in some activities with clients which they seemed to enjoy and participate as appropriate.
My Mum had been at Cherry Trees since September 2023 and after a shaky start (because she wanted to be in her own home), she settled in. The staff at this home have been wonderful and the care she was given was faultless. Every member of staff were so lovely and so caring of my mum's needs. She was very happy. I cannot recommend them enough and I am so grateful.
