My dad was moved in to care after a decline in his condition with Alzheimer's disease. He lost mobility, pieces of his memories (thankfully not of us), and his character.
The care he received in Guthrie House was, truly, outstanding. The staff genuinely cared. They took an interest in him,
remembered things about him, and us - our names and relationships. They brushed crumbs off his lap and tidied his hair. They sat with him and listened, and were patient and kind when he could be challenging or angry. They went on excursions, and flagged if they had concerns about his health.
When he declined further, they gave us space and privacy to be with him - offered us food, cups of tea, and hugs. When he passed away, he was cared for with respect, love and care. They recommended a Funeral Director with whom we had an amazing experience. Some of the staff came to his funeral.
Thanking them all for making a truly traumatic and heartbreaking period of our lives so much more bearable.

Absolutely incredible staff, so friendly and caring, nothing is ever a problem. The home is clean, friendly and the staff make things fun. I couldn't be more happy with the care given to my mum. Thank you all.

I cannot praise the staff enough for all that they have done since my wife has gone into the care home they have been superb cannot thank them enough.

My first experience of living in care but now needed. I feel my room is comfortable and adequate. The staff are friendly and efficient and provide the help and support I need. The food is varied and meets my needs. There is a varied social program provided and staff help to oversee it. Visitors are
welcomed and my experience is good.

My father has been in Guthrie House since April 2025. Since the first day, not only has my father received a warm welcome but so have all family & friends. All the staff, without exception, are friendly, professional, helpful but also happy. All the areas are clean & well kept. The food is
lovely. There are lots of activities like bbq's, singers, arts & crafts & quizzes. The staff are always on hand if you have any queries. There's a lovely garden for nicer days. It's lovely to see all the staff interacting with the residents.

I am constantly struck by the kindness, patience and professionalism of the staff at Guthrie House. My father (not the resident) who worked with a social care charity said it was 'As good a care home as he had seen'.

I'm 100% pleased with my wife's care and all the staff are so nice too. The food, her room etc are all perfect for her needs. Overall I'm extremely happy with my wife's care.

The most satisfying feature of this care home is the staff, who from management down are highly caring, professional and proficient. My wife is treated with the utmost dignity and respect, as are, to my observation, all other residents. The staff are happy and display the utmost courtesy to
visitors. It is heartening to be greeted, on visiting, with a smile and a welcome. It is clear that the management are working tirelessly to maintain and improve standards throughout with engagement and communication with relatives a priority. Overall, an excellent establishment.

I contacted the reception area to arrange the use of a room for my brother's and sister to have a pre-Christmas celebration with my mother (99 years old) who is a resident. Not only was the room available as scheduled and nicely set up, coffee, tea and soft drinks were provided, together with
biscuits. The family provided the sandwiches and cakes and it was a very enjoyable day. Well done Guthrie House Care Home.

Our mother was a resident at this care home until she died this November 2024.
She was well looked after and loved by the excellent caring staff. Everyone of the staff were special. Mum died at the care home. All the family were there throughout the final week of her life having travelled from
England and the USA to see her and spend time with her. The staff were amazing to us offering us food, drinks and comfort. We can't thank you enough. Look no further than this care home for your loved ones, you won't be disappointed! So grateful for the care they gave our Mum.

My mum has been in Guthrie House Care Home for 16 months and although she is unable to communicate verbally she always seems to still have her feistiness and character shining through due to the care and support she receives from all of the lovely staff at the home. Always feel walking in that any
member of staff you encounter will speak or smile and I always do the same, Mum seems to be doing well, eating better than when at home.

Very pleased with my mother-in-law being cared for in Guthrie. My only concern is the difficulty understanding the carer's while taking a telephone call, the language barrier is very difficult, so it's very frustrating.

It was my mother's 99th birthday on the 9th of October. The staff were excellent, they went out of their way to make my mother and family happy. The staff are always helpful.

Guthrie House is a lovely care home. Mum has settled and is well looked after. The care staff are fantastic, they are welcoming and have Mum's best interests at heart. I have a great relationship with the staff including the management team. They involve me in Mum's care and keep me updated at all
times. I couldn't wish for a better setting for Mum. Thanks to everyone.

We love Guthrie House, my mum has been there for over two years now and we are delighted with how well looked after she is. The staff know her very well and they are always so lovely and friendly. They know all of the family and even my two small children look forward to going to see granny. They
are always happy to have us and really support us having the best visit that we can. Even small token gestures like offering us drinks, biscuits etc to share mealtimes which is so precious these days. Every resident has a birthday cake made for their birthday too which is always a really special touch as well.

Into Guthrie House for Mum's birthday. Staff set up a room with some banners and we took in afternoon tea. It was a nice way of getting some family together - always pleases Mum to see the great-grandkids happy.

My mother has been a resident at Guthrie House for over two years now, and the care she receives is excellent. My mother is now fully immobile, so needs help with everything, and this is never too much trouble for the carers. She is always well-dressed, and there are always carers on hand to help
with her needs. Special shout out to one gentleman on the 3rd floor, whose cheery disposition helps make for a good atmosphere. A very cheerful place.

It was my mother's 99th birthday on the 9th of October. The staff were excellent, they went out of their way to make my mother and family happy. The staff are always helpful.

We love Guthrie House, my mum has been there for over two years now and we are delighted with how well looked after she is. The staff know her very well and they are always so lovely and friendly. They know all of the family and even my two small children look forward to going to see granny. They

My mother has been a resident at Guthrie House for over two years now, and the care she receives is excellent. My mother is now fully immobile, so needs help with everything, and this is never too much trouble for the carers. She is always well-dressed, and there are always carers on hand to help
with her needs. Special shout out to one gentleman on the 3rd floor, whose cheery disposition helps make for a good atmosphere. A very cheerful place.
