View Full Details of St Ninian's Care HomeMy relative has experienced a consistently high quality of care. The leadership is proactive and responsive. The residence is clean and homely. Food and fluids are supervised, recorded and given with support and encouragement. Residents are encouraged to take part in activities appropriate to their abilities. Despite in their 91st year, my relative is able to access the first floor by stair lift with support and mobility is encouraged by supported use of a zimmer. There are regular, documented, nightly checks and timeous alterations made to risk assessments as personal circumstances change. National Care Reports confirm the very high standard I have witnessed over three years. I have found the staff to be friendly, kind, hard working and part of a good person centered team.
My elderly father who is 91+ years old was placed in a room on the first floor despite having really poor mobility (uses a walker at all times). When alarm was set off for help no one attended to help him. Family witnessed poor service and Care Home Manager refused to answer calls. The food was extremely poor and cold. My father was left unsupervised when he was eating, despite the staff being told he can choke. Emergency arose during family visit on Saturday 8th March which necessitated taking our father out of the home as he was so distraught at being left to suffer on his own in his room on the first floor, with no assistance. My father was in the Home for less than 24 hours, it was meant to be respite for myself as a carer for almost 20 years. I even asked a member of Staff if my father had been drugged as he was far from being his usual self. For anyone considering this Home please ensure you have done your own research and choose wisely for your loved one!
My husband has been in other care homes in Perth, all disastrous, poor care and simply money making. I, at last, found the wonderful St Ninian's Care Home through a friend. My husband is now finishing his life with loving dignified and expert care. I am so grateful to them.
Clean, smells fresh, small and homely. All the residents look well cared for, meals can be individualised as I have witnessed on many occasions. The managers are approachable, friendly and very obliging. The home is well maintained with nice furnishings. The lady I visit is very happy there.
