View Full Details of Broadways Private Nursing HomeDefinitely would not recommend Broadways, advise anyone considering here for their loved one to reject it immediately. Very unwelcoming depressing environment , which negatively impacted my mother's mental health during her brief stay. The lack of transparency very concerning- relatives not allowed to see into any communal areas so impossible to know how the elderly people were being looked after, activities if any , staff interactions etc. Concerns about safeguarding and failure to following nursing regimes raised repeatedly with staff, manager, and social worker - no improvement. Information from staff not forthcoming and often contradictory. Building clean but dated and in need of refurbishment. Visitors' lounge cramped, uncomfortable and often already occupied . My mother's bedroom was depressing, looked onto brick wall. Only outside space was roofgarden, weeds, no colour, no cover. Accessed through 'conservatory', used as staff smoking room. Shockingly negative experience.
My father shared a room with another gentleman, it was poor decor, broken wall light, no heating, radiator valve was broken, soiled nappies and net pants on floor, bedside table covered in food. Dad was bedridden and his food was blended so it was not his. New catheters were kept in bathroom beside a commode. His food portions were small and residents food dishes sat beside the lift on a tray uncovered. I reported to RQIA my concerns. If you love your relative take them somewhere else. We never met the manager, staff rarely wore gloves and plastic aprons. We were never so glad to get Dad moved, he got moved to the hospital a week after his roommate was moved with an infection also. My dad pulled through and was discharged to another nursing home, which was like a hotel, staff and facilities were 100%. Dad's roommate died after being moved to the hospital.
