View Full Details of Bridgewood HouseMy husband has lived at Bridgewood since the end of May. He is a very much loved husband, dad and grandad, but it was impossible to care for him at home. He needs a team around him and he now has this. He is physically very well cared for. He is clean and his skin is looked after. I'm sure he still lashes out at staff because he doesn't like being touched but staff know how to handle him. All the carers have been nice and approachable. The staffing ratio seems good. In addition there's a relatives gateway app that we can access with every single aspect of his daily care and his overall care plan and forward planning.
I have to say, I have nothing but praise for the staff at Bridgewood House. They have been caring for my mum for the past two and a half years, due to dementia. She was so very happy there and the staff were great with her and us. So very caring and understanding. Unfortunately, Mum passed early October, but I know her last days were good. Highly recommend.
My mum has been in Bridgewood for 3 1/2 years and my father, myself and all the family are happy that mum is looked after very well and she is happy in herself. The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially during the difficult COVID time.
Comfortable accommodation, friendly and helpful staff. Nice people, always enjoyable variety of food. Activities offered - very good.
I have enjoyed myself with food/bed etc and place. Have had a nice time with friendly other persons. A good time when we dance, I sing and mix with others.
This care home has gone above and beyond for Mum who has Alzheimer's. The day to day care staff who deal with personal care, looking after residents and supporting patients at mealtimes are warm, caring and have taken the time to get to know my Mum. Their staff turnover is pretty low too - my Mum usually has the same 3-4 carers supporting her with the odd new person. My Mother's carers - conduct her personal care with dignity and gentleness. I've been impressed with their response to maintaining contact during Covid-19. The activities lady ensures I get to skype my Mum twice a week. Getting referrals to other professionals pushed through (e.g. dentist/ wheelchair services) has sometimes taken time but this is likely down to NHS wait lists and one nurse who wasn't always that helpful. Highly recommend. Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly with the carers who look after my Mum day to day.
My mum has lived at Bridgewood House for over 1 year and she's completely satisfied. It is a great place to live. I had several opportunities to visit before the pandemic lockdown and observed residents are treated well, very good staff and food are decent. Bridgewood has a wonderful organisation that provides thoughtful and professional advice. Despite the lockdown and the restrictions re - visiting, they provided ipads to Skype residents and encourage visiting from afar to combat isolation amid coronavirus. Staff are world-class standard.
My dad has only been living at Bridgewood House since the whole country has been experiencing the lockdown period of 2020. He hasn't experienced yet the range of activities on offer; or been able to see staff members without masks. However; despite this; he has been warmly welcomed and extremely well looked after. He feels safe and happy. He said "this is the best place I have ever been in; possibly even including my own home!!' Even though any contact (for me; as a relative); has to be by phone or Skype; whenever I have contacted any of the staff they have been without exception courteous, friendly, professional, kind and caring.
When you choose a home for a loved one, there is always a feeling of doubt in your mind. However, be reassured that if you choose Bridgewood House, your mind can be completely put at rest.
