View Full Details of Stocks Hall MawdesleyFriendly, welcome attitued. It's home from home. Everybody introduced themselves, care staff, nurses and owner. You are worried, apprehensive when you move to a care home, scared even. My brother has rang his bell, always answered, night & day. Given a TV & radio. Personal hygeine excellent, he's clean. In hospital appalling, no feet wash, no tooth brushing for 8 weeks.
A clean and pleasant environment. The facilities are excellent and the staff are in my experience friendly, helpful and very welcoming. They contribute massively to making each visit a pleasure. The activities team seem to be very enthusiastic and engaging without being 'pushy' in any way. The domestic service is excellent. Never a problem with laundry or cleaning at all. All in all a nice place run by nice people.
My husband is in nursing care. He cannot speak, move and receives his meds and liquid diet through a peg. Staff are vigilant and alert the GP's if they have any concerns. Nursing staff and carers are respectful and thoughtful. I especially like the consistency of staff on the unit. They communicate with me as my husbands spouse whenever I am in, and indeed phone me if they have any concerns at all.
My husband had to move homes as his previous care home closed down. From what was an extremely worrying time turned into a better than hoped for outcome. This home is in a rural setting is very modern and always well maintained, spotless, safe & secure! Its almost like a hotel! All the staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and quickly set our minds at ease. The care my husband is receiving is first class and he has settled in well, its lovely to see him smiling and relaxed. They work very hard to ensure all his needs are met, there are plenty of activities going on and its so nice he has a full life again. I have no worries of him being there and know my husband is in good hands. I feel very much at home when i come to visit. I highly recommend this home, they definitely put the 'Care' in Care Home!
I had spent months looking around the Northwest Area for a respite care home for my wife who has dementia. I was recommended to Stocks Hall Mawdesley by a friend. My first impression of Stocks Mawdesley is it looks like a five-star hotel, I called in, on the off chance one Sunday. I was given a quick tour around and found the place very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. I made arrangements over the next month or so to have further discussions with the management. I decided that Stocks was the ideal place for my wife and it would put my mind at rest on how she would be looked after, while I took my respite. I can only say that it was a great decision, my wife enjoyed it immensely, confirmed by all our family/friends who visited her. I would like to thank again the management cares, and the staff who are behind the scenes that were involved in my wife's care, thus making it easier for me to leave her for the first time in our 54 years of marriage.
My late wife lived in the care home for six years, from November 2017. Throughout that time, her complex needs were met in a highly satisfactory way. I was a frequent visitor, and I always got a warm welcome. Pandemic handles superbly. Until she became bedbound, she took part, sometimes with me, in a range of activities provided by the Wish team.
Beautiful clean home. The majority of the carers and nurses are wonderful at their jobs. Some carers and nurses need CPD in relation to having conversations with family members of residents. Some comments and questions asked are inappropriate and inconsiderate towards resident's and families' feelings/situations. I cannot yet comment on the new manager. She hasn't been in position long enough.
I was very impressed with the bright, spacious and extremely well-maintained look of the care home on my first visit and am pleased to say I have seen actions in the past year in maintaining the very high standards. The staff on reception always greet me with a smile. The carers and nurses are always attentive to the needs of my wife and always greet you with a smile, obviously happy in their work.
My husband has been a resident on Catkin nursing care unit for 12 months. The standard of care, cleanliness, food and support are all excellent. I can't praise the staff from the management, nurses, carers, cleaners and kitchen staff enough - they are all a credit to the home. The atmosphere at the home is very friendly and happy, it's a pleasure to be able to invite family, friends and especially the grandchildren to come and visit.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the compassion and kindness they have shown to my mother. Every member of the team, from the nurses, cleaners, carers, kitchen staff, maintenance workers and administrators, are so supportive and friendly. There is a lovely atmosphere throughout, every part of the building is kept clean and tidy, the food is great and the care is excellent. Mum is very happy here.
Fantastic nursing home with fantastic staff. The home really makes every visitor feel part of their family! Outstanding care. Food is brilliant and lots of choices. Staffing levels are high and enables quality time with residents.
My mum has been in the care home for around eight months on palliative care and she has received excellent 24/7 care. The staff are very friendly and nurses both professional and attentive towards the residents. I would very much recommend Stocks Hall Mawdesley.
On arrival, I found the staff very friendly and welcoming. The place is absolutely spotless inside and outside. My friend feels quite at home with people passing his room stopping and having a chat. Hopefully, he will make it long-term.
I arrived at Stocks Hall Mawdsley on 31/12/2020. After a diagnosis of Covid-19 put me in hospital for 3-months, I'd been in a coma, then a month of delirium and was bedridden. Like anyone, I had some fear/trepidation when I got to Stocks Hall, within hours, all concerns had gone. Stocks Hall’s accommodation and food were better than 5-star hotels. Though its strength is in people who work there; they are warm caring and loving human beings. Nurses, carers, and also the support teams all have one aim to care for and support their residents. I must mention one individual a carer supervisor, who took me from being bedridden, being hoisted around my room, to walking. He started with 2 or 3 baby steps and built up day by day. One nurse, a modern-day Sorcerers Apprentice assisted him. He was quiet; his enthusiasm got the best for the resident. I left in May 2021 no longer bedridden. If Stocks Hall had a motto… “Nil Secundus”. Second to none.
My mum has been in Stocks Hall Mawdesley for over a year now; she is looked after by the staff as if she is one of their own family. Apart from the Covid situation, which has caused a big gap in visiting, before that, visiting was allowed anytime, and for any length of time. There is always some activity to involve the residents in, and on occasion, some residents are taken out in the ‘bus’ for a ride out. My mum and I are more than happy with the care she has received, and we would recommend this place to anyone.
Since I was advised to apply for a new care home residence, I have nothing but praise for the staff at Mawdsley. From my initial enquiry, I have had excellent support from all members of staff. My brother has settled extremely well. I am always well informed about his ongoing care and his general welfare. I never thought he would change as much as he has and for the better. He is very happy. I appreciate Facebook communication. I think he feels much more secure than in previous care homes. It has made me feel much happier to know how well he has settled. It can only get better. I thank them all very much.
My dad spent his last few months here and I honestly cannot thank the staff enough. To have him spend the precious time he had left in such a caring, safe, well managed and lovely place was so important to him and myself. I could go home knowing he was in the best place with the best care. The home is stunning and the staff go above in beyond. They became my family and I’ll forever be grateful. I could come and go whenever I needed and that was extremely important that I could spend all the time with him I possibly could. Thank you.
Absolutely lovely residential home. Amazing staff and a caring atmosphere. Always a friendly and warm environment. Wonderful facilities and always very clean and tidy. Staff are very helpful and caring.
I can only comment on assisted living for my mother, which is of very good standard. Great care and dignity is given to her. She is treated as part of a caring family. Standards are generally high and she is always interacting with the staff who play to her sense of humour. A happy, safe place for my mother.
To all the staff at Stocks Hall Mawdesley, on behalf of all our family, we would just like to say - thanks. The care you gave to my father, who came into your home for the last few months of his life, was nothing short of inspirational. There is not one member of staff I would like to pick out as outstanding - as the entire team were. Every time we visited my father, he was always in good spirits and was so well cared for - it was just so re-assuring for us all. I can honestly say that the care given by the staff was truly humbling - so again, thank you all.
