View Full Details of Barchester Kings Park Care HomeExcellent, very happy
I have an enjoyable & successful respite period. I had a knee operation & was unable to walk. The staff were all extremely helpful & friendly. I booked for a two week Respite but was so well looked after I stayed for six weeks. I also intend to keep in touch.
A relative moved into Kings Park at the end of June, initially for respite care, but after spending four weeks at the home, decided to make the stay permanent. This decision is testament to Kings Park's excellent care, attention, service and the superb standard of the home, facilities and dining facilities. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who all made a real effort to ensure the resident settled in as quickly as possible and was made to feel as if they are staying in their own home. It is comforting to know that the relative is safe and extremely well provided, looked after and above all, happy.
Care home is well managed. Residents are cared for according to their individual needs. Lovely environment for both residents and their families.
Kings Park provided excellent care for my husband who has Alzheimer's and was having a two week respite break. From the moment he arrived he was looked after and encouraged to participate in a range of activities created by the activities coordinator and her team. Kings Park provided a very comfortable and homely environment. The food looked delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the superb team of carers who looked after my husband with care, respect, patience, dignity and always with a smile. Thanks also to the general manager, home services advisor, deputy manager, home administrator, administrator assistant and another staff member for their help, support and cheerfulness even when I was having a difficult day. Thank you to the team of staff on the front desk who always greeted us with a friendly face. From the first moment I walked into Kings Park many months ago I felt like I had had a hug. Thank you for looking after my husband. Thank you for looking after me too.
Does the care home measure up to what you see on an open day? Most definitely yes. Kings Park treats residents with care and respect at all times. The care home staff can be described as true friends of the residents. Facilities are excellent and the activities that are laid on are varied and stimulating. Each resident is treated as special and this care home is special, very special.
Kings Park is a beautiful care home with amazing staff .However the website states that this home is for dementia care yet my mother who has dementia was asked to leave after 2 weeks because her behaviour became "too complex" for them to deal with . The "complex" behaviour that was mentioned was due to my mother being moved many times in hospital and then to kings Park . Anyone who knows about dementia will know that changes causes stress in dementia patients and that then can produce all kinds of behaviours. My mother was not given a chance to settle in before they asked me to move her and in the 2nd week she settled in well . Also there were only 2 members of staff on the dementia floor and a comment was made that if they had more staff, they would have been able to cope with the behaviours. Kings park is a lovely place but I would think very carefully before choosing it for dementia care and be prepared to move your relative if they show any behaviours that they can't cope with .
I enjoy living here and feel safe & comfortable.
As a resident in this care home I find that although I would prefer living at home, this is really the next best thing. I find it to be very clean, warm and an extremely comfortable place in which to live. The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful, the food is good and we are provided with and encouraged to partake in various events, games and the like to keep us entertained. I would commend it to anyone aged as a good place in which to live.
Until recently my wife was a resident in the dementia unit at Kings Park Care Home. Initially for a period of respite care and then as a permanent resident. During her stay the care and compassion provided by the whole team at Kings Park was exceptional. As my wife's health deteriorated a move to a specialist dementia care home became necessary. The assistance given in initiating and facilitating the move by the management and staff at Kings Park was above and beyond what I could have hoped for. I have no hesitation in recommending Kings Park.
Very happy.
Our cousin has been in Barchester Kings Park Care Home for almost two years. Her quality of life has improved and she is well cared for in both health and mental activity. Physically, she looks more relaxed and well cared for. When she was living in her own bungalow, she looked worried and was a danger to herself. The staff are kind and loving and she has responded well to this attention.
During the period in question, I was placed in your care home to enable my full-time carers some respite. While I was there, all my needs were satisfied quickly and with a pleasing touch of humour which was very much to my taste. Well done!
Barchester Kings Park Care Home is run professionally and efficiently but also manages to retain a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both residents and relatives. The premises are purpose-built, clean and comfortable. My father spent two and a half years here and was happy and fond of the staff. I have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.
When trying to identify the right home for my mother, we found the manager and her team to be very professional in ensuring, they could meet my mother's needs. Their assessment not only focused on understanding her care needs but also took into account her social needs and well-being. Barchester Kings Park Care Home offers a high standard of care and provides a wide range of daily activities. We were able to visit the home the day before to set up her room and when she arrived, my mother was immediately made to feel welcome and met with the chef to discuss her dietary needs. We left feeling confident that my mother would be looked after and as became evident the following day, they would liaise with us if they had any concerns. Unfortunately, my mother became unexpectedly unwell, the staff responded immediately, took all the correct steps and kept us informed of what they were doing. We have no hesitation in recommending Kings Park and only wish they had nursing care so my mum could return there.
My mother has been a resident for over two years. Initially on the ground floor and now on memory land, the specialist dementia floor. She is settled and content. All of the staff take great interest in her well-being. The whole home is immaculate and extremely well-equipped. Mum particularly enjoys the garden and trips out in the home's minibus.
We have always found the staff friendly, supportive and approachable, nothing is too much trouble.
Excellent care home with lovely staff. If there are ever any issues, they are always dealt with respectfully and efficiently. The home is beautifully kept and very clean and the food and drink are of a good standard. I feel happy that my father is well cared for and looked after.
All staff made my mother and myself welcome. My mother has been well taken care of and the food has been so good. Mum has put on half a stone!
I don't want to go home. Everyone has been kind and patient.
