View Full Details of Barchester Kings Park Care HomeI have been visting this home to visit a friend. The care is amazing. She had a fall, which she is now walking, thats the care she received. To make her walk. In fact a friend of mine has moved into the sister home. Barchester is fantastic.
It's not often that I come across such dedicated and passionate individuals who make up the team that are able to help and make a lasting differance to the help and welfare of Mum at Kings Park. A special thanks to all of you who are taking the time and effort to make Mums time here such a wonderful experience. Thank you all.
Staff at this care home are all lovely. Hand overs must be excellent as they all know my mother very well and, despite her being really challenging at times, all respond positively and consistently, making my life so much easier. As soon as you walk in the door you know it is a very special place. Our family has felt extremely well supported during mum's "episodes". Working together has been hugely reassuring.
My mother in law is enjoying the activities, particularly the quix which takes her to another local care homes in the mini-bus and the music events - she loves live music!! Lots of support offered by different members of staff. Great tea & cake.
My mother came to Barchester Kings Park for respite care after a fall. After extending her stay week by week she decided it would be better for her to live here permanently. She feels safe, cared for and is treated with dignity and affection. The staff always have a smile and always have time for a chat, nothing is too much trouble. There are numerous activities to suit all personalities, all in all its a very happy place to live.
This member of staff @ Kings Park Care home is one whose care and attention is exceptional each time I have had contact, the care and kindness I recieve will without hesitation recommend her to anyone needing her attention, as a resident my stay at this home endeared me to return on a permanent basis following a respite care and the treatment I recieved was such, hence my return
I have been very pleased with the care my husband received during respite. The staff were patient, kind and managed a sense of humour, in often difficult circumstances. I was pleased that the staff informed me when there were health issues to be dealt with.
Excellent, very happy
I have an enjoyable & successful respite period. I had a knee operation & was unable to walk. The staff were all extremely helpful & friendly. I booked for a two week Respite but was so well looked after I stayed for six weeks. I also intend to keep in touch.
A relative moved into Kings Park at the end of June, initially for respite care, but after spending four weeks at the home, decided to make the stay permanent. This decision is testament to Kings Park's excellent care, attention, service and the superb standard of the home, facilities and dining facilities. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who all made a real effort to ensure the resident settled in as quickly as possible and was made to feel as if they are staying in their own home. It is comforting to know that the relative is safe and extremely well provided, looked after and above all, happy.
Care home is well managed. Residents are cared for according to their individual needs. Lovely environment for both residents and their families.
Kings Park provided excellent care for my husband who has Alzheimer's and was having a two week respite break. From the moment he arrived he was looked after and encouraged to participate in a range of activities created by the activities coordinator and her team. Kings Park provided a very comfortable and homely environment. The food looked delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the superb team of carers who looked after my husband with care, respect, patience, dignity and always with a smile. Thanks also to the general manager, home services advisor, deputy manager, home administrator, administrator assistant and another staff member for their help, support and cheerfulness even when I was having a difficult day. Thank you to the team of staff on the front desk who always greeted us with a friendly face. From the first moment I walked into Kings Park many months ago I felt like I had had a hug. Thank you for looking after my husband. Thank you for looking after me too.
Does the care home measure up to what you see on an open day? Most definitely yes. Kings Park treats residents with care and respect at all times. The care home staff can be described as true friends of the residents. Facilities are excellent and the activities that are laid on are varied and stimulating. Each resident is treated as special and this care home is special, very special.
Kings Park is a beautiful care home with amazing staff .However the website states that this home is for dementia care yet my mother who has dementia was asked to leave after 2 weeks because her behaviour became "too complex" for them to deal with . The "complex" behaviour that was mentioned was due to my mother being moved many times in hospital and then to kings Park . Anyone who knows about dementia will know that changes causes stress in dementia patients and that then can produce all kinds of behaviours. My mother was not given a chance to settle in before they asked me to move her and in the 2nd week she settled in well . Also there were only 2 members of staff on the dementia floor and a comment was made that if they had more staff, they would have been able to cope with the behaviours. Kings park is a lovely place but I would think very carefully before choosing it for dementia care and be prepared to move your relative if they show any behaviours that they can't cope with .
I enjoy living here and feel safe & comfortable.
As a resident in this care home I find that although I would prefer living at home, this is really the next best thing. I find it to be very clean, warm and an extremely comfortable place in which to live. The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful, the food is good and we are provided with and encouraged to partake in various events, games and the like to keep us entertained. I would commend it to anyone aged as a good place in which to live.
Until recently my wife was a resident in the dementia unit at Kings Park Care Home. Initially for a period of respite care and then as a permanent resident. During her stay the care and compassion provided by the whole team at Kings Park was exceptional. As my wife's health deteriorated a move to a specialist dementia care home became necessary. The assistance given in initiating and facilitating the move by the management and staff at Kings Park was above and beyond what I could have hoped for. I have no hesitation in recommending Kings Park.
Very happy.
Our cousin has been in Barchester Kings Park Care Home for almost two years. Her quality of life has improved and she is well cared for in both health and mental activity. Physically, she looks more relaxed and well cared for. When she was living in her own bungalow, she looked worried and was a danger to herself. The staff are kind and loving and she has responded well to this attention.
During the period in question, I was placed in your care home to enable my full-time carers some respite. While I was there, all my needs were satisfied quickly and with a pleasing touch of humour which was very much to my taste. Well done!
