Clarendon Lodge is an excellent care home. From my first visit to the welcoming and beautifully presented Reception it was clear that this was a very well run home. My husband who suffers from vascular dementia and has other problems originally came for respite breaks, but is now a permanent
resident. He is not the easiest person to have to deal with and wants to do everything in his own sweet time, which is challenging for meal times, arranged activities and medical appointments etc! The staff have a wonderful manner and genuine care for him and indeed all the residents. The home and rooms are kept spotlessly clean with a very efficient laundry collection. Catering is of a good standard and residents are able to make their daily meal choices. There is a varied programme of morning and afternoon activities, as well as interesting trips out in the minibus. Thoroughly recommended - well done team Clarendon!

Dad first went to Clarendon Lodge for respite care as it became clear he was finding it hard at home. We were able to have an extended stay (5 weeks not just 2 which other homes might have offered) and this gave Dad, as well as the rest of us, time to understand what living there would mean.
We
knew we had found the best place for him when he said that he hoped he would be allowed to stay as he was so settled.
Six months later and we are still completely convinced that he is receiving the best care. The support extends to the rest of the family and we have been welcomed into the various activities organised for the residents. All the staff have taken time to get to know Dad and that reassures us that if one of the family members cannot get to see him, he is in a place where people will have time to chat and interact with him.
Definitely a hidden gem and one I would heartily recommend to anyone looking for care for their loved one.

Clarendon Lodge has continued to provide good quality care to my friend, who suffers from dementia, and has been a resident for over a year now. All the staff, irrespective of their position or role with in the care home engage readily and appropriately with residents. There are regular activities
and events organised at the home for residents every week as well enabling residents to be able to participate in events in the local community, for example the Christmas Fair at the local church and Croxley Revels.

Six months ago my father arrived at Clarendon Lodge for 2 weeks respite after a hospital stay, and felt so happy and safe he decided to stay. There are not enough superlatives to describe how we all feel about CL. Staff go above and beyond and are so kind and helpful. The building is spotless with
no smells. It's bright and welcoming and was purpose built about 3 years ago. It's all on one level, with wide corridors and several lounges. The en-suite bedrooms are modern and comfortable. There is a beautiful, accessible garden with seating areas and a safe path. Also, twice daily activities, and trips out in the minibus. Yesterday evening they went for a drive into London to see the Christmas lights, and that was after a pub lunch! At 97 I'm astounded how much my father is still achieving, thanks to the lovely staff. We are so grateful for the peace of mind, knowing dad is so well cared for and happy. 5 stars plus.

My friend of many years has been in Clarendon Lodge for just over a year with a diagnosis of Alzheimers.
During this time the staff have all shown real care towards her. They will always greet her by name and will stop for conversation, accompany her where she wants to go, help her if she's confused
and try to cheer her if she is sad.
I cannot fault their genuine care for all the residents.
The home and all the rooms are kept spotlessly clean, with daily clothes washing and ironing.
Facilities are good and comfortable. The activities organiser is inventive and works very hard to involve the residents in a variety of events and activities.
The managers at the home will always find time to talk to relatives and of course residents.
I think my friend had been fortunate to find this small, friendly and caring home.

We are very happy with the care my mother in law is receiving at Clarendon Lodge. All the staff are fantastic from the carers, managers, reception and cleaners to catering. All going the extra mile and having a chat while they do it. What is really lovely is that it is the same, permanent, staff
working there so they get to know the residents well. Any problems, like illness etc is dealt with promptly and professionally, residents being reviewed by the GP when needed and also a weekly visit from GP staff to review anyone requiring this. It is clean, warm and welcoming and a pleasure to visit.

My partner has been resident in Clarendon Lodge for 3 months and has settled in well and has been in good health since his arrival.
The staff are attentive, the property is very clean and well designed for wheelchair-bound residents.
Walking through the door, I was very impressed with the communal
areas and the courtyard garden.
There are regular social events which residents and their visitors are encouraged to join in with.

I got a great feel of Clarendon Lodge before Mum became a resident. Warm, friendly, clean, modern, and above all else, safe. The food's decent, the care is second to none, and for the first time in a long time, I know my mum's in the best place, and therefore, sleep better because of that.
All
involved go the extra mile, and I'd thoroughly recommend Clarendon Lodge to anyone.

Clarendon Lodge is excellent. We arranged to view the home when my mother was in hospital because we were concerned that she could no longer safely look after herself at home. From day one we have been impressed. They acted really quickly, meeting Mum while she was still in hospital and then having
a lovely room ready for her on discharge. The home is modern, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The staff are wonderful, are clearly well trained and really care, going above and beyond to help Mum settle and meet her needs and that is all the staff - managers, carers, activities, reception, kitchen, laundry, maintenance and cleaning. Mum has been there two months now and, honestly, the staff just seem like good friends. Visiting is 24/7 and so I can call in and spend quality time without all of the worries when she was in her own house. It is really comforting to know that a representative from the GP surgery visits every week and all mum's care needs are taken care of.

My wife had been suffering with advanced Alzheimer's and although reasonably physically fit, she had been struggling with communication and self-care at home. Also, she had been wandering around aimlessly both inside and outside our home and was at risk of serious harm to herself. This meant that
she needed round-the-clock personal care and supervision.
I tried to cope but was unable to and after many discussions with family members, social workers, and other care professionals we decided that the only course of action was to place my wife into a care home. As we live in Croxley, a most convenient one we considered was Clarendon Lodge. I recently arranged to meet a rep there who took me and one of my sons on a tour of the property and we came away very impressed. Only recently built, it has modern facilities all at ground level with each room opening out to a safely accessed garden patio.
There are daily activities and all meals are cooked with fresh ingredients.
Highly recommended.

We were very happy with the quality of care provided to our mother and the genuine affection displayed by the staff. Mum enjoyed the eighteen months she lived at Clarendon Lodge.

Clarendon Lodge went above and beyond to make my nans birthday special. They not only decorated her room, they surprised her with songs, a cake and a present. It was overwhelming to see the effort they put in to make sure our loved one was celebrated, as they should be, on their special day. Makes
me feel better the residents are being looked after as if they were family by the staff. Providing comfort in an already difficult time.

I have been visiting my friend, who has dementia, since she went to Clarendon Lodge Care Home in May 2021. She spent much of the last year in bed. Now a new "acting manager" has been appointed and together with the "weekday receptionist" she is sitting in a wonderful chair in the "dementia lounge".
Thanks to these two wonderful people the home is alive and buzzing. All the staff are very kind and gentle to my friend. I really hope that these two staff are here for a very long time. I haven't completed the second half of the ratings because I have no knowledge of them.

Since there has been an interim manager I can see a real improvement. My mum has been stuck in her bed in her room for a year and, since the interim manager has been there, they have got my mum a special chair so she now goes in the lounge every day. Also, a shout out to the receptionist who is an
absolute delight.
Depends on who - staff are mostly very good. Agency staff unsure.

My mother stayed at Clarendon Lodge for 8 weeks respite. The immediate improvement in her physical and mental state was obvious.
The facilities are excellent, beyond comparison, and the staff are all so helpful, caring and attentive. The food has been a treat, hotel quality from the meals I have
seen. The outlook onto the garden from the rooms is uplifting.
I couldn't recommend this facility enough, and wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

My sister has been a resident in the home for six-seven weeks.
She had a very bad time at her last home and after a terrible misunderstanding was asked to leave. The manager and all the other staff have been incredibly understanding, gentle, kind, respectful and encouraging. She has been diagnosed
as living with dementia now but she is cleaner, healthier and happier.

I have been extremely impressed by the commitment to care at Clarendon Lodge! The residents seem happy and confident, and I believe this is due to the kindness and efficiency of the staff. My sister arrived at Clarendon Lodge confused and lost! She has definitely improved in spite of obvious signs
of dementia. As a visitor, I am always treated in a polite manner. This is an outstanding care home, which I highly recommend!

My mother has been in Clarendon Lodge Care Home for a two-week respite care. Came home, had a fall and asked to go back. She has been at the home for the past five weeks. Staff are excellent, caring and attentive to Mum's needs. A lot of dementia patients which can cause Mum concern coming in her
room etc. People do not talk to her much so she feels a bit lonely at times. Having a problem with getting a phone installed which will help her to settle better.
