View Full Details of Pine Martin Grange Care HomeGood for 21 months my only complaint is one medic who is like a bull in a china shop. I am happy here.
After an initial settling-in period mum has adjusted exceptionally well to living at Pine Martin Grange. She has really blossomed under the care of the wonderfully kind staff, everyone smiles and knows her name and asks how she is and this has resulted in mum approaching her whole day with a smile and positive attitude. She enjoys and participates in all the activities and has made some great friends amongst the other residents. My siblings and I had been doing everything possible to keep her happy and healthy in her own home but this was proving to be impossible. The level of care offered by Pine is much more suited to her well being and the social interaction is unparalleled and so beneficial. We can therefore rest easy knowing she is safe, happy and well looked after.
Outstanding, friendly, professional and genuine.
On a day to day basis I feel that my mum receives excellent care. It has been important for her to get to know staff and residents alike and this over a period of time has happened. The day care staff are particularly excellent, as are the activities and trips out. She is less happy about the night staff, who she feels are often rushed as they go on/off duty.
My father has been at PMG for more than 4 years and our family are very happy with all aspects of his care. The staff are very caring, capable and well trained. His room and clothes are always clean and well maintained. The activities staff provide stimulating and varied activities and the meals are excellent, I couldn't imagine a home that would meet his needs any better, thank you.
My husband needed urgent respite care after a long stay in hospital. The management team at Dormy Care found him a room at Pine Martin Grange, and within a few days he was there, it was amazing! From the first day, my husband completely felt at home. The facilities are like being in a five-star hotel, the food is excellent. My husband has a rare neurological condition and within a couple of days, all the staff had been trained to understand his needs. We were very impressed with the knowledge of the nursing staff. All the staff are just lovely, caring and supportive. He really enjoyed the physio sessions that he had twice a week in the gym. He even had a trip to the beach for ice cream. Thank you all at Pine Martin Grange.
This care home is very well appointed and comfortable but expensive if you do not need nursing as in my care after an operation to recover. The staff are very helpful and good, looking after people with all sorts of ailments.
I stayed for a respite stay and everything was great.
Excellent all round. My husband enjoyed his stay.
My Aunt was at Pine Marten for what turned out to be a brief stay. On the day that she was admitted, I came away wishing that we had made the arrangements sooner. That impression only increased over the time that she was there. I live 160 miles from the home and they phoned me at home to update me on her progress. When I came back a week later I ended up staying for over 24 hours and I was made to feel so welcome and cared for and I was only a visitor! I really do wish that my aunt had been better able to experience/be aware of the care at Pine Marten for a lot longer. I sat in my aunt's room for a lot of that 24 hours and the frequency of visits by care assistants and nurses and, almost as importantly, their attitude, was excellent. If I had other relatives locally in need of care then I would put Pine Marten top of a list of ones that I would look at to recommend/arrange.
There is no doubt that this home has all the bells and whistles of a newly appointed care home. However, the needs for dementia patients were sadly lacking. My father was in the home for approximately six months. As a family we were repeatedly going in and having to clear up after my Dad's mishaps; from literally wiping excrement walked across the carpet, to regularly cleaning his bathroom, to getting him in a shower. He got a nasty eye infection from repeatedly rubbing his eye with dirty fingernails. Admittedly my father was not the easiest of patients. As a result, he was drugged up to the eyeballs to keep him quiet. Since moving him to a different home we have been able to take him off this medication and he is much happier and calmer. In conclusion, I would say that choose carefully if your loved one is in need of a lot of care. This home will leave too many of their patients unattended for too long. I'm assuming much of it is due to too high a patient ratio to staff numbers.
The staff take good care of my sister. They facilitate her care with the agencies outside of the home. They communicate with me on a regular basis. Overall I find a well-run caring home. The atmosphere is very pleasant.
I am delighted with the care Mum is receiving at Pine Martin. The staff are very caring and supportive. Mum has settled well into her new home. Visitors are always made welcome. I couldn't ask for more for Mum.
My mum and dad have settled well into Pine Martin Grange. The manager is very approachable and deals with any queries quickly and efficiently. Despite the challenges with staffing throughout the healthcare sector, staff at Pine Martin Grange are thoughtful and kind and Mum and Dad always look clean and tidy and well cared for.
Very pleased. Mum is safe, clean, fed, warm and treated with dignity. Management/staff are very approachable and professional. Record keeping is excellent. Residents are known. Find it a little disconcerting that residents can enter each other's rooms when doors are closed. Overall very pleased to have found Pine Martin Grange for Mum.
My sister has complex medical needs but is younger than most residents in the home. The team have worked hard to make her feel at home. They are lovely people and the home is a pleasant environment for her and her visitors.
The staff at Pine Martin Grange are absolutely wonderful with Mum and she is well cared for, safe and happy. The facilities and activities are second to none and as a family member of a resident, I feel listened to and welcome.
The management and staff at Pine Martin Grange made great efforts to help my mother settle in when she moved in as a permanent resident after the painful decision to leave her home of 35 years. The food, surroundings and facilities are exemplary. It was a difficult journey for Mum as she's suffered issues with her health and well being but the support and care from the Pine Martin team has been tremendous.
Pine Marten Grange could not have done more for my mother during her respite stay. They were attentive, thoughtful, efficient and kind. The facilities are excellent and the place has a real feeling of home about it.
My aunt seems happy with the care she is receiving. When I’m there the staff are very caring and treat her with respect as an individual. However, I do feel that the floor my aunt is on is understaffed. There have been two occasions when her hearing aids weren’t in. It makes such a difference if she can hear better. Also her dental plate with several teeth on it was lost. She would never remove it herself in the day which leads me to believe it wasn’t put away properly at night.
