View Full Details of Sandhills Court Care HomeMum was staying here for 3 months while work was done on her house. She had never wanted to go into a care home but when the 3 months were over she was questioning if she wanted to go home! The staff were lovely and looked after her well. There are activities every day to join in with - music performances, exercise, quizzes, crafts etc. Staff even walked over to the supermarket with residents if they needed to do some shopping or just went out for a walk. The building is light and airy with lots of areas to sit. There always seemed to be residents sitting chatting in the main lounge. Rooms are nice and they were happy for you to bring furniture etc. The maintenance guy even hung pictures for us. A doctor and nurse from the local health centre go in every week for non urgent issues. Mum felt cared for, safe and had plenty to keep her occupied. She wants to reserve "her room" for if she ever needs to go back. :-)
Mum went into Sandhills Scunthorpe for respite following two weeks in hospital, after a fall. We chose Sandhills out of 4 choices following a meeting with the manager and receptionist. Six weeks later and we are happy with the choice. All of the staff have been friendly, approachable and very helpful to mum and me. And the safety of residents and security is very reassuring.
In Sandhills I feel safe in the knowledge that my mum in law is looked after and cared for, she is enjoying her time here and the staff are very caring and friendly.
My mum has been a resident here for a few months now and her care has been exceptional. The staff are very professional and caring, giving excellent support to mum and to the family when times have been difficult. The staff are very friendly and obviously enjoy what they do and this makes for a happy unit. They are always available to chat about any issues (if any) and the staff certainly know the residents well. Would certainly recommend.
My auntie has been a permanent residents at Sandhills since May 2023. It was a huge transition for her as she became ill very suddenly and couldn't go back home after a lengthy hospital stay. Thanks to all the staff there, she took to care home life very well and accepted all the help and support available to her. She was quite a feisty lady and had a lot of banter with the staff, which in turn made her happy being with them all. Unfortunately, she had a fall a couple of weeks ago, which in turn, caused her to have a stroke a week later. She passed away four days later. The staff were absolutely amazing, both to myself and my auntie, nothing too much trouble. She was cared for immaculately with personal care etc. and the respect and compassion to us all was second to none. Thank you.
The carers are very kind and helpful. A good selection of food and the home is very clean. My brother was very impressed with the home when he visited me.
My mum spent 3 weeks at Sandhills Court for respite following a fall and a broken hip and then time in hospital and rehab. She absolutely loved her time there, the staff, without exception, were kind and caring and treated her with dignity. She always enjoyed the food and the facilities were first-class. Thanks to you all who cared for her.
Overall I have been very pleased with the friendliness, willingness, happiness, and attention to me as well as my husband, first class. Carpets let the home down, badly stained (clean though of debris etc.). Despite providing staff with a 'potted' history of my husband's life, no one made use of this, to develop a greater understanding until I introduced it into conversations. Question the £30 a day extra for having a bigger room. The care and facilities are no different. A one-off premium should be quoted on arrival and the fees returned to the same as other rooms.
Wanted to say thank you to all the staff at Sandhills for everything they do for my mum. Everyone is doing a great job. You can tell that everyone just cares. She's been here for over 2 years. Just shows we found the right home for her here at Sandhills. Thanks to everyone for their care and support.
Absolutely lovely place, happy for mum to be there. The staff seem to be very caring.
After previously asking for an extra wardrobe for my mother and nothing appearing for three weeks I asked the receptionist if she could chase it up. While I was there the wardrobe appeared and was put in place! Thank you to the receptionist, you are a star!
This was Mum's first experience of respite care. She was reluctant to go in, but the staff were very supportive and other residents were friendly. We were pleased to receive regular updates by phone on how Mum was settling and where she was joining in the activities. A good trial visit for us all. We'll definitely use Sandhills again.
My father has been a resident of Sandhills for over a year and loved it. The staff are extremely helpful, caring and friendly. They keep us updated with Dad's care needs and nothing is too much trouble.
My husband came in for respite (12 days) he was very well looked after and the choice of meals was very good. All the staff were lovely and very caring. He says he will go in again when the need arises.
I was in rehab in March/May with a broken ankle and leg. The staff were very kind at all times helping me wash, toilet and dress. Always very helpful to take me to meals and activities. All the staff, office and cleaners, very nice people. My room was always clean. Always a good listening ear when feeling down, missing my dog and family. The kitchen staff were helpful and the food was good. In fact, it was not very bad at all. Both day and night staff were great. Thank you.
My mum has been a resident in Rebourne since August 2020, I was aware of the home before she arrived as I had visited several times to see friends. The staff have been fantastic despite their pay, they have my greatest admiration, very few of us could do what they do every day. Mum is well-loved by all and the standard of her care is superb, no one would want to go into a care home by choice but we are both delighted to have found a place here. Special thanks to the exceptional seniors and Mum's long-term carers. Remember, this is a partnership and as the family you must play your part, communication is key. Following a recent few days in hospital, my mum begged the doctors to be returned to Sandhills to die in her own home (what an accolade).
One gentleman carers for my mum, and I find him to be very approachable and caring. One lady proceeded him, and she was also very knowledgeable, approachable and caring.
The care that is constantly given to me and my mum is excellent. The home has a family feel in a 5-star hotel setting. All of the staff are so caring, approachable and professional. I always felt welcomed by a friendly smile every time I entered. Mum has been really poorly but thanks to her excellent care she is feeling much better. I would absolutely recommend this home in a heartbeat. Thank you.
I find everyone at the home extremely caring. They all invite you in as though it is their home and are taking care of your relative.
Mum was in Sandhills Court for one month for some respite care after a fall. The welcome was very warm and friendly. She settled in quickly and was very well looked after. All the staff were courteous and caring. Mum developed a bad chest infection, which was monitored and dealt with quickly and effectively. On the whole, we were very happy with the home and the care. The only negatives are 1) continuity - far too often, a different carer was on Mum's floor. 2) "Execution" - I asked if someone could help Mum cut her fingernails - it took three requests and one week!
