147 Yarmouth Road, Norwich NR7 0SA
Shalom Care Home is situated on the outskirts of Norwich and is an elegant, privately run care home overlooking the picturesque Yare Valley.
The Home provides specialist care for older people with dementia within a warm, homely atmosphere. The experienced team works closely with residents and their families to create personalised care plans focussing on unique needs, interests, choices and values.
Residents are actively encouraged to stay as independent as possible and the Activities Coordinator organises many different events and pastimes to promote wellbeing. There is always a big, friendly welcome ready for residents’ families, friends and all other visitors.
Shalom currently caters for 25 residents within an attractive period property bordered by two secure gardens, featuring a fountain and mature trees. The Home is set far back from the road yet close to local amenities, and has recently been granted planning permission to build an additional seven bedrooms.
Unlike larger homes, Shalom does not have vast clinical areas that can confuse the elderly; instead room sizes are more in keeping with those that residents have been accustomed to in their own homes.
Shaloms aim is to provide a caring, happy and stimulating atmosphere in the spirit of companionship, security and independence, whilst respecting residents’ privacy and dignity at all times.

Shalom Care Home has a homely feeling, the staff work hard. They care very much, chef who cooks the meals does a very good job. My mother knows them as her family rather than her son - daughter. The problem I have is with personal washing for residents, things go missing, never stay white, they have poor washing arrangements, cost a fortune, buying new clothes all the time.
