Broadland View Care Home is an elegant, privately run care home situated on the outskirts of Norwich, overlooking the picturesque Yare Valley.

The home offers a warm and welcoming environment where the experienced team provides care for older people with dementia. Personalised care plans focus on individual needs, interests and choices, and are developed by working closely with residents and their families.

Residents are actively encouraged to stay as independent as possible and have regular opportunities to take part in various events and activities organised by the home’s activities coordinator, aimed at promoting health and wellbeing. Visitors, including families and friends, are always welcome to visit the home.

Broadland View Care Home caters for residents within an attractive period property bordered by two lovely gardens, featuring a fountain, garden pavilion and mature trees. The home is set far back from the road yet remains close to local amenities. Room sizes are more in keeping with those that residents have been accustomed to in their own homes.

The home strives to provide a pleasant, caring and stimulating environment where companionship, security and independence are promoted, and residents’ privacy and dignity are respected at all times.

The priority at Broadland View Care Home is always the residents, and staff do everything they can to ensure that every resident gets the very best care possible. This is achieved by treating every resident as an individual and finding out their different needs, interests and likes.

The home also welcomes regular day care visitors to Broadland View Care Home, where an elderly person with dementia can enjoy the activities, companionship and hospitality that the home has to offer.

When my mother moved into the home she was very nervous and unsure of what was happening. I was overjoyed when I came a day or two after and found she had been given a double bedroom which she shares with her friend who is a nervous woman like my mother.
Every time I visit they are together which is
nice. There may be some faults with the staff but in fact I have not seen any. From the manager to the cleaner I have been completely satisfied.
The ladies who specifically help the people eat the food or care for them privately do so with much patience and kindness.
There is much love shown and peace at the home.
Thank you

We were visited by the home manager on Saturday 5th August regarding respite care for my mum. She was very understanding and friendly towards us. She spent time to listen to my mum's needs and anxieties. It was agreed that my mum would be collected on Monday 7th August by the manager.
It was an extremely
difficult day when my mum came into the home but due to the manager and staff being so kind and patient my mum was persuaded to stay. She is very happy now.

Dad was very lonely at his home. Since he has been at the home he has carers in and out to check if he is ok. Meals are good and everything is also very clean.

My father has been a resident now for two and a half years. It was very difficult at first, taking him from his own home, but I can honestly say it was the best thing I could have done for him. My father is treated so well and looked after by some excellent staff. Everything about my father has improved,
his appearance, his mood and his health in general and he is always happy. He enjoys it here and has a good relationship with both the staff and residents. I would certainly recommend Broadland View as a caring and pleasant home.

My family and I are very happy with all aspects of care our father receives at the care home.
All the staff are always so friendly and helpful towards him and to us as well.
We have not come across another care home where he could be looked after any better.

I have two relatives in Broadland View Care home and they have been in the home since early March. I just can't believe the change in them both. We had to move them from another care home as we were deeply unhappy with it. Both have gone back to their usual selves. I can't say enough good things about
this home. The staff are exceptional, they really care. Nothing is too much trouble and they go over and beyond to make everything right.
Choosing a care home is never easy but I knew this was the one as soon as I walked in the door and was greeted by the Manager and her Deputy.
My Mother is so happy and settled, she has been signed off by the mental health team who were called in after concerns at the last home.
If you are looking for a happy, safe, caring environment with wonderful staff, this is the place. Lots happening, the entertainment is excellent and the food is delicious.
You know you have found the right place when all the residents and staff are always smiling!

My Mother became a resident at Broadland View in March 2017 and this is the happiest I have seen her in years. She is happy, content and being looked after extremely well by the staff. She is stimulated by the excellent entertainment and eating and drinking well. I have no complaints at all. My wife
and I finally have peace of mind that both our Mothers are being so well looked after by the wonderful caring staff at this care home. I would recommend it to anyone considering placing a relative into care (which is never an easy decision).

Having very recently helped move two friends to this facility I am very impressed with the high standard of care. The staff are all very friendly and the attention to even the smallest of things is superb. For example, those that have difficulty reading can point to what they want just by looking at
the laminated pictures of the meals. What a wonderful idea and so simple. Other homes should take note. The residents themselves are also very friendly. The whole place comes across as one big happy family where everybody is treated with respect, care and love. Well Done.

Having visited various care homes over the years, I have no hesitation in saying that Broadland View Care Home is the best I have ever come across. In the six months, my friend has been resident and her condition has against all odds improved. This being in no small measure a result of the encouragement,
love and affection shown to her by the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and every single staff member contributes to the caring family atmosphere. This ethos of care is also extended to all visitors who always receive a warm welcome, offers of refreshment and informative support. My friend feels happy, safe and above all surrounded by the most loving and caring people you could come across. I cannot express my thanks enough to the staff and management, they have created a wonderful environment of love, care, dignity and respect. Thank you.

I visit many elderly people in their own homes and care homes as a voluntary minister of the Eucharist on behalf of a Norwich parish. I am a retired nurse. I have visited Broadland View for four or five years. It is outstanding, welcoming and stable staff. Clean and welcoming environment. Food looks
and smells delicious. Very dependant residents beautifully cared for in all areas of physical and emotional care.

Having cared for my sister-in-law for approximately 12 years, my wife (now deceased) and myself could see my sister-in-law's health deteriorating, reaching the point where we could not give her the care required. The council were approached for help and a care worker was appointed and care was provided
in her home and attended her personal needs. She also attended a day centre.
As time passed, her continued deterioration reached a point when she was a danger to herself in her own home. At this point, residential care was recommended and she is now residing permanently in care.
Having been in there for 1 month, and visiting her, my own personal observations are telling me she has accepted the changed and has settled down.
Throughout this journey, over the years, I cannot give enough praise for the care that has been given to my sister-in-law and the relief and peace of mind that this has given me. My thanks to all involved in the high standard of care and help given.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.995)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.995) out of 10 for Broadland View Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.851 for Broadland View Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (41 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 47 Ratings = 4.851
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.144 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Broadland View Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.2 = 0.769
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
