    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.342 for Barchester Lynde House Care Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 13 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 13 Positive Reviews = 1.300 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (13 Positive Reviews ÷ 76 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.342

It is regularly cleaned. They have a variety of food. The patients seem well looked after. They have lovely grounds to go out in the summer.

Wonderful homely, relaxed atmosphere. Peaceful, sunny gardens, beautifully kept, with masses of seats and tables. Excellent nursing, I have complete confidence in the care. Carers very attentive. Food very good, served in elegant surroundings, very good. Rooms well equipped. Everything immaculately clean, always smells pleasant. Many activities. Good physio. I am very happy to visit, always.

I would recommend this home because of the high standard of care, the dignity and respect shown to residents by all the staff and the friendly atmosphere of the place.

The garden is a great asset. There are plenty of interesting activities for residents to partake in if they are able to. There is a very nice dining room and guests are always welcome.

My father was very well cared for at Lynde House for the last two years of his life. He was treated with dignity and compassion by all the staff. My mother has been there for several respite visits and I could not recommend the home and staff more highly. I visit very often and feel my mother is safe and very well cared for.

I have lived here for six years and have had excellent care good activities, I have been very happy here during that time. My family visit me every week to check how I am and are pleased with my progress.

As when my father was at Lynde House 4 years ago found the care home excellent. With staff who have been there for 10 years. This speaks a lot about Lynde House. Have also recommended other people to Lynde House and they have been very satisfied.

Daily Consideration and Respect

My cousin does not take help easily, she is not completely aware of where she is and definitely unaware of the state she is in. She has vascular dementia and she has always been difficult to handle as she is terrified of losing her mental capacity. The sad thing is that she is unaware that she has already lost it. Despite her prickliness, the nurses and carers at Lynde House come and chat to her, all this kindness and respect when sometimes she shouts and yells at them or accuses then of hurting here, but it's not them but herself who is hurting them. Yet they remain so loving towards her.

My mother has been at the above home for nearly 9 years. She is 107 years in February 2015, and I'm sure their care has prolonged her life. It is very well managed and the carers/nurses are extremely caring and helpful. They arrange every type of activity to suit all tastes. The food is well balanced and appetising, with variety and choice.

This is a care home which absolutely lives up to the description of the facilities and the provision of care which are provided. I went there because i have Prostate Cancer which has resulted in compression of my spinal chord and made me unable to move my legs. The staff were excellent in looking after me and getting me (94 Kg) in and out of bed and onto the commode or my wheelchair as required.
The food is good with a choice at every meal and wine is provided if you want it. And if you don't like what is on the menu you can have an egg or cheese and biscuits.
Lots of entertainment is provided for the residents such as Bingo, Scrabble, Carpet Skittles and drumming.
The Internet is usually available in the rooms but had a fault for the last week I was there.
Completely recommended.

Lynde House is the only home I would even consider for my husband - and I have seen many. It is exceptional in every way - one feels as if one is visiting a 4 star hotel - so elegant, warmly hospitable, so amazingly caring and with genuine love from all the staff. It is beautifully run, and the staff seem very happy and committed . I love to visit my husband, sit in the lovely gardens, and perhaps have a meal with him. Yes, it is THE BEST.

Unfailing loving kindness from all staff. Management always caring and attentive, always present on site. My husband is so happy at Lynde House he feels secure and loved. The food is wonderful, the dining room a delight and service excellent, all like a 4 star hotel. I love to eat there. The gardens are a dream, so lovely to sit in the sun in beautifully cared for flowers. Many of my friends have relatives at Lynde House it is quite simply the best.

We are very grateful to Lynde House for coming to our rescue under very difficult and unexpected circumstances when both parents had strokes 5 days apart. The hospital would not release them back to the own home. The staff have all been very supportive and helpful in this difficult situation for which we are extremely grateful. We would recommend this nursing home to anyone without hesitation.
