Staff are always polite and courteous, dedicated and compassionate. Staff Profiles

Roz Salamandi

Job Title: Home Manager

As manager of Garth House, Roz leads her professional staff team in delivering the highest level of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 39 residents.

In a wide-ranging nursing career, Roz amassed more than twelve years of experience across acute medical wards, oncology, haematology and surgical nursing, before specialising in care for the elderly in 2002. She took over as the owner and manager of a private care home and has continued to work in the sector to date, only interrupted by a short period of two years spent working in a private hospital in Barbados.

This diverse experience has equipped Roz well for her role at Garth House, where she works hard to ensure that those in her care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.

‘I feel privileged to be able to make a difference to people’s lives every day.’

As well as spending time with residents and making sure they are comfortable, safe and happy, Roz sees it as an important part of her role to act as a mentor to her team. She firmly believes that a happy, fulfilled and motivated staff team will be in a better position to consistently deliver a high standard of care.

In her spare time, Roz enjoys reading, gardening and walking her dogs near to her Fernhurst home in the picturesque Surrey Hills, where she has lived for the past four years.
