My stay here was excellent all my carers so kind & helpful in every way I would like to thank everyone who took part in looking after me here. The welcome & kindness is something I shall remember for a long time, all done with a smile & cheery word, so nice when you feel unwell.
There was one problem with a carpet stain outside the door of the wet room, reported by my carer, the maintenance team came to inspect, sent a lady with carpet cleaning machine, she did a great job but sadly the stain returned due to the main problem under the floor - maybe a blockage which needs attention for future occupants.

Many thanks for the happy time I spent with you all.

The care home has a very nice garden and a pleasant atmosphere. The environment is peaceful and comfortable, which makes it a relaxing place for residents. The garden area is well maintained and provides a nice space for residents to sit outside and enjoy fresh air. The staff members are friendly, caring, and always ready to help when needed. The rooms and common areas are clean and organized. Overall, it feels like a safe and welcoming place where residents are treated with respect and kindness.

Dad has been at the Grange since end of October. He went there reluctantly but he was made very welcome and settled in really quickly. He joins in events, goes out for coffee and has made friends. All the staff are friendly, helpfull. If I have had any worries these have been addressed. Dad was ill recently and I had the reassurance he was being well cared for, being kept up to date which is a relief when my dad is on pallitive care.

I would just like to say a big thankyou to all the staff at Alice Grange for all their kindness/professionalism and care for my father. My father has been here approx 3 months & did not want to go to a care home. He now states how happy/settled he feels and also feels sage. All staff made sure my father had a wonderful Christmas period & special thanks to the entertainments team lead for all the wonderful activities that were put on which my father really enjoyed.

Thank you, all.

I have noticed since the onset of my aunts dementia she has given up on all activities that she used to love. She used to go to the gym, swim, walk, gardening and play carpet bowls. It was with great joy that I saw the activities staff had got my aunt to go to ten pin bowling. She looked like she was having a whale of a time. I could see the determination on her face again when she was about to bowl. Excellent.

Thank you for the pictures on social media.

Overall Experience
The home is beautifully decorated and on the face of it seems really good. My father went for a 2 week respite to try and help him following a fall. Unfortunately once he'd gone in and paid the fee we found things were not suitable for his mobility needs. The en-suite bathroom was a disaster with no grab rails for the shower meaning he couldn't use it and with the toilet not having wall mounted rails meant a free standing frame was needed which with the perching stool needed to use the basin and walking frame to get about meant the bathroom was cluttered and a danger for someone at high risk of falling.
So I wouldn't recommend for anyone who needs aids in order to use a bathroom. The food was also a complete let down, nothing like the 5* dining experience the website would have you believe. Overall very poor value for money at £1,800 a week.

In the end my father had to leave after 6 days as totally unsuitable all Barchester care about is taking your money!

Mum has been in Alice Grange about a year now, having lived with us for over a decade. Moving from home in your 90's is a difficult thing to do.
Mum has settled into AG very well, the Staff have all been wonderful, they genuinely 'care' for her and appreciate her personality. She says 'nothing is too much trouble' and she herself recommends it to anyone who's interested.
We are very pleased with her care, including her daily care, emotional care and for them identifying when any medical care is needed. Everyone we have come into contact with is friendly, capable and committed to providing good care.
The home is purpose built and spacious, with all the facilities needed, including a lovely garden and regular entertainment.

So glad we chose Alice Grange.

I was nervous at first, after my hospital stay, but soon found good friends in the staff who were ready to help me in my room and also outside. I cannot praise them enough. The food was really good for me, as I'd lost my appetite, and now I am eating well. I did enjoy the trips out and the things (like scrabble) which we played. Thank you all.
