After a year of receiving care at from a local provider we finally got to the point where mum, for her own safety and well being needed care 24/7. Mum has lived with worsening dementia for 5 years so what started as rest bite for a month became permanent with the help from the DIST team, her doctor and adult care.
A place at north court was available and the move although a bit tricky was the best decision for mum.
The staff are kind and caring and very friendly. Her room has plenty of room and she now talks of it as being her house. She is still getting used to living with other residents with dementia from living alone. I feel she is happy, she joins in many of the activities provided.
The food looks good, plenty of drinks available in the lounge and her room and she has the choice of eating in her room or in the dining room.

Mum can move freely around to different lounges and dining room as all on one level, she had difficulty doing this at home. Big thanks to all staff.

Reply from Dagmara Kaminska, Home Manager at North Court Care Home

Thank you Ian, I will pass your kind words to the team. It is an absolute pleasure looking after mum and we will continue to ensure her wellbeing and safety is paramount.

We are extremely happy with the care and support provided at this senior home. The staff are caring, kind, patient, and always treat the residents with dignity and respect. It is clear that they genuinely care about each person and go above and beyond to make them feel safe, comfortable, and valued.
The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are always helpful and approachable. We have great peace of mind knowing that our loved one is in such caring and capable hands.

We are very grateful to the entire team for their dedication and hard work. We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and supportive place for their loved one.

My mum was relocated to North care following a break down in care support at her previous Care Home,.

The staff have been amazing in supporting mums Dementia needs and managing her everyday care within the home.

Thank you for sharing this. We know how stressful it is when a care arrangement breaks down elsewhere, so I'm really glad we could step in and give your mum a smooth transition.

My overall experience with North Court has been very positive. Staff are lovely, although sometimes I feel new staff aren't up to speed with residents needs and likes.
Food is good, although choice could be slightly better. I think the home will only get better as time passes, with more robust systems in place.

Important thing to say is, do I think my mum is looked after and safe, yes is the answer.

I can't believe the glowing reviews this care home have received recently, I wouldn't send an animal here. While the ownership and management have changed over recent years, the quality of care has continued to decline. Unfortunately the management seem to have spent more effort in redecorating the home than investing in the training of staff or care of the patients. We recorded several concerns and complaints over the years for our relative, and most recently we became increasingly alarmed at the use of agency staff who were inadequately trained on first aid and patient safety. I would urge anyone needing to send their relative into care to avoid this place, which has a very poor reputation in the community for good reason.

Reply from Dagmara Kaminska, Home Manager at North Court Care Home

It is very upsetting to read your review, considering your last visit to the home was back in December 2024, its rather strange to understand why you submitted the review in July 2025,where your relative is no longer in our care and home was under different management then. Things have massively...

The entrance to North Court is very welcoming as was the young lady on reception. My aunt was in bed and her room is very clean, though a bit sparse. She was very agitated and wanted to get out of bed. The carers came in and I went out and my aunt was changed and assisted to a wheelchair to go and watch the entertainment in the lounge. She screamed a lot whilst being assisted. The music was incredibly loud which upset my aunt but we stuck it out. I then left and my aunt was waiting to be taken back to her room. I think my aunt spends a lot of time in her room.

My Aunty was a resident of North Court. She was reluctant to go to any home and I was anxious. I can honestly say that I can’t praise North Court enough from the time she first stepped in she was made to feel at home and so were we. The care she received there was excellent and couldn’t be faltered in any way. Every member of staff was always polite and acknowledged us and we could visit whenever we wanted. The activity coordinators were excellent and again included us. I also noticed that on occasions such as Xmas the staff all went above and beyond to make it very special for all the residents, the home was decorated beautifully. I have since recommended this home to people who have asked me about and I seriously couldn’t have received any better care for my Aunty it was outstanding and I can say with confidence I highly recommend the home.

Dad moved in around a month ago we have had nothing but kindness shown to our dad, his words - the staff are lovely and can’t do enough for me. The food is excellent lots of fluids given he always looks clean and smart we are all so happy he is there. We are now able to visit and have lots of laughs with him, best thing we have done. Thank you so much to all the staff at North Court.

Such a clean welcoming environment, the staff give the best to the residents giving love and support and helping them with day-to-day activities. The staff are incredible and so caring towards the residents, anything they need the staff are there providing them with the assistance and support they need, giving the positivity with every task and telling the residents they are doing well and they are proud of them when the residents complete activities and everyday tasks. My aunt came to North Court Care Home for end-of-life care which was given with compassion and kindness. Medical support from the local surgery was good and communication from the nursing staff was excellent. My aunt died peacefully and we were very grateful that she did not die in hospital where she had been for five weeks previously. I'm not sure how we would have felt should she have recovered and gone on to live in the home as the environment is very dated and in need of modernisation. I cannot comment on the facilities and activities as she was bed bound.

My mother has been a resident for two months now. It has taken her a while to settle in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only concern I have is that the food is not very appetising. After having a meal there myself, I agree. Surely, when catering for the older generation an attractive meal would be beneficial.

My main reason for completing this review is to express my growing concern over the staffing levels of employed carers. There seems to be more and more Agency staff who often speak very poor English and often don't seem to have a clue as to what is expected. Also, the food is not always up to standard and is very poor.

I took my husband for a week's respite so I could have an operation on my knee. He sat in a room, and no one came and asked if he was ok. No remote for the T.V, no jug of water left so he could have a drink, no food until I said I was going to the shop down the road to get him a sandwich. No drink until 4 pm when I collected him and took him home. The home should be closed down. I wouldn't leave my dog there.

Friendly welcome on arrival at each visit. Care staff are passionate about their residents' comfort and wellbeing and are a credit to the care industry. I’m really happy that my dad has settled in his new environment and I’m comfortable in the knowledge that he is being well cared for and that his needs are being met without compromise. My brother has been a resident here for over 3 years. I have always found the care he has received very good. The staff have been friendly towards me. Everything is lovely and clean. I have 2 Christmas dinners with him which I enjoyed very much. I can't wait for things to get back to normal. It must make everything so much more difficult for the staff.

This year has been difficult but I have found the staff very caring, in very difficult circumstances. They've kept Covid out of the home, by restricting their personal lives. This is a credit to them. It's always warm and friendly. The food is excellent there. Residents always clean and dressed well. The laundry service is excellent. One doesn't wish for your loved one to go to a care home, and while I was reluctant at first, am quite satisfied.
