The whole team at Astley Hall are just fantastic. The level of care shown to my father is just more than we could ever wish for. Everyone is so warm and welcoming to us and keep us involved in all the activities. The activities provided for the residents are also amazing and I can see that all the residents really enjoy them.

I live overseas so when my mum was admitted from hospital to Astley Hall I was very nurvous, I can honestly say the transition from hospital to the home went very well, all thanks to care team & management. I recently visited my mum, it was lovely to see how well mum is being cared for. I regularly see photos on there social media page & read the daily notes via the "Relatives Gateway" & can see how well mum is being looked after, you can really see the "carers" do care.

You are always made to feel very welcome, I did have some meals when I visited & was lovely to have freshly home cooked meals.

Reply from Jayne Rose, Administrator at Astley Hall Care Home

Thank you for your very kind words they will be shared with the team. The relatives gateway is a great way for families to see how their loved one is being cared for and activities they are joining in with. We look forward to your visit the next time.

Father in law has been here twice. First time for two weeks. Now permanent. The team here work well together. All friendly. If we are unsure of anything the manager is very approachable to discuss. Issues are looked into and dads well being is taken in hand , we have no issues . He is at Astley Hall due to his choice as well as his best interests.

I just visited Astley with no prior appointment to get a proper feel for it as we were looking at numerous options for a family member on full-time residential. Not only did they allow me in, but I also had a full tour and had a chance to see management and stay within the normal working environment. Based on the professionalism and care packages offered and provided and exceeded the decision was without question the correct one. We would recommend Astley 100% in all aspects.

Aged 99, was admitted to hospital and deteriorated over 2 weeks. From there he moved to Astley Hall for 2 weeks respite care. He was so much happier with staff who really cared for him and had all his best interests at heart. He celebrated his 100th birthday after 3 days and he managed to enjoy having a few close family members around him during the afternoon. The chef prepared a lovely assortment of afternoon-tea sandwiches, salad, savoury rice, cakes and scones for the visitors to enjoy. Although he was frail, he was able to sit in a comfy recliner chair, propped up with pillows to hear all the staff sing Happy Birthday to him. The staff were all so kind, warm, thoughtful and caring.

Unfortunately, Alfred went down hill and died a few days later. The staff made sure we knew the prognosis and kept us fully informed so we were able to be with him. He was treated with so much respect and consideration. They helped up through the journey and offered us lots of support.

My wife has been a resident at Astley Hall for nearly five years and in all that time I've witnessed compassion dignity and dedication from all the staff. I visit my wife three or 4 times a week there is always a drink on her table the staff regularly pop into her room to check on her well-being. There are activities in the lounge if my wife doesn't want to participate a member of staff comes to her room for a chat and a singalong or a pampering session.

There is a lovely atmosphere the staff are always willing to answer any questions. The food is very good and the staff are always cleaning. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Astley Hall to anyone whose loved one needs the care that my wife receives. I can't thank you enough.

Astley Hall Care home is brilliant. It is located in a pleasant country area surrounded by a lovely garden. I visited my sister earlier this month to bring Christmas presents and check on her well-being. I visit as often as I can, living some distance away in London. I sense that my sister is in the best place possible, given her condition. What I do witness and see, also through being in constant contact with her husband who visits her regularly, is just how good the staff care is there! They appear kind, assertive and very professional. When they enter my sister's room she lights up at their presence. The food is very good and the atmosphere feels friendly. I would like to thank the staff for going that extra mile and making me feel that Astley Hall is the right place for my dear sister to be. Thank you so much!

I wrote a review last year shortly after my friend arrived at Astley Hall. I was very impressed with all aspects of the home immediately and even more so since having visited more regularly over the past 12 months. The care and support given are superb. Gardens and hobbies are encouraged, new friendships being made is a joy to see. Thank you for making a difference.

Transferring a loved one to a care home is a pretty stressful time, but we, including Mum, have actively enjoyed the experience that the manager and her team have facilitated. All the staff are so kind and caring and smiles are never in short supply. Mum is also enjoying finding her appetite again, what wonderful food. It is clear everyone is invested and enjoys their work, thank you.

The setting and staff are excellent. Our father seems happy and extremely well cared for. Not only do they provide a stimulating, comfortable and caring environment for him, they also make it easier for all of us.

Our father has been staying at Astley Hall for about 3 years.
He had to be moved from his previous residence as he had a number of behavioural issues. Since being at Astley Hall, he has settled down and appears very happy. Both the environment and the care he receives are excellent.

The staff are exceptional and our father and ourselves would be devastated if he had to move.

My mother needed a high degree of personal care including assisted feeding, cleaning and personal care. Every time I visited her she was happy, enjoyed the provided activities and never appeared distressed. The attentiveness of the staff was exemplary even when it was obvious they were under pressure. The nurses present when she passed away were amazing with one staying over 3 hours beyond her shift end to help my mother.
