From the 1st look around the home until the day my Dad went home the entire workforce took such pride in their work. Following several months in hospital followed by a month in a sub standard care home elsewhere the staff turned an underweight depressed man into a cheerful outgoing happy chap. He loved
every day with the wide variety of activities on offer, he loved the food and nothing was too much trouble if he needed help.

I would say my experience is really very good, the staff are exceptional it is just that at times there does seem to be a shortage of staff, particularly on a night. Also as the home is set over two floors there probably needs to be more staff allocated to each floor.
Another comment would be regarding
size of toilet in the rooms, they are too small to accommodate a rollator making it difficult for my husband to use unaided.

My Mam has been a resident of Lindum House for around 4 years now and as a family we are 100% happy with the care provided.
Mum has had a number of challenges to overcome this year, having lost her dear friend and companion whom was a fellow resident of Lindum in the early part of the year along
with some general health issues associated with her dementia. But rest assured the Management and Staff were always on hand to support my Mum both physically and emotionally.
Additionally, the daily and weekly activities are excellent and are thoroughly enjoyed by residents and family alike.
In summary, I would have no hesitation in recommending Lindum House as a care provider, the Management, Staff and Care workers all work extremely hard and more importantly they genuinely care.
Thank you to all at Lindum House, you are doing an amazing job.

A warm, welcoming and caring environment which is well maintained.
Every member of the team is friendly and helpful and accepts ownership of any questions or issues even if it isn't their direct role - no sloping shoulders!!
Respect and dignity are prominent attributes along with a friendly support
team who engage with my mother in conversation and friendly banter whilst going about their day-to-day duties.
A full programme of activities to choose from and a dining menu which is freshly prepared and changes every day.

My mum came to Lindum House a few months ago now after being in another private care facility. There is a big difference with Lindum and the staff...in a very positive way. As a family, we are all very happy with how the Management and staff are with Mum. It's a very proactive place to live. There is
energy and fun in the atmosphere and the staff seem to really care.
My old Mum is probably one of the most negative people on earth, nothing will ever be right by her but we know different. We know she is getting good care. They actively encourage her to participate in group activities which is a real win as Mum chooses to isolate herself for choice because that is what happened at the other home.
Thank you to everyone who is so patient with her and for the excellent food standards. As a family we are all relived that Mum is settled and is slowly letting down some of her brick walls!

My Mum absolutely loves living at Lindum House. Everyone is so kind and caring and she has such great relationships with all the staff and other residents. She's always busy socialising or doing activities and since going to live at Lindum House she has really improved both physically and mentally.

I received a call to let me know my mum had become unwell and paramedics had been called , I was given a detailed explanation of what the paramedics had said and she listened to my views, she was very reassuring and told me that they are keeping a close eye on her and that they would ring me if mum
became worse and that they would call me with an update in the morning after she had finished her night shift, I received a call as promised and again given a full update, the staff are professional and caring and show empathy and understanding and I fully appreciated the call to reassure me . We are very pleased with the care and patience my sister is is being giving. The staff are really good with her and try to include her in various activities. She has been a resident at Lindum house for over year now and, although her dementia has got worse she is happy there.

Our mum came to Lindum House in the autumn of 2023 following a stroke at the age of 93, and after decades of independent living. We had looked at several homes, and chose Lindum for the instant warm, caring 'vibes' it emitted - and we were not wrong in our assessment. The manager and her team put us
at ease that mum would be in good hands. Mum quickly settled into life at Lindum, with the buzzing atmosphere, friendly, caring and attentive staff and lovely surrounding gardens and clean, well organised facilities. Until her recent passing, mums quality of life in her last 18 months has been wonderful. Right until the end, the Lindum team showed great respect and warmth towards mum, and she was happy. We really cannot think of a better endorsement than that.

My mum has been a resident of Barchester Lindum House, Beverley, for a lot of years, she has been looked after so very well by all long-time members of staff and new ones too. The last few months I have noticed a decline in my mum and she is a little more challenging but as always, the care Mum receives
is second to none, I always tell people of the fantastic love and care Mum gets, it's a big relief for me when I leave Mum, she is always in the hands of people that really care. I can't thank you all enough and last but not least, a massive thank you to the manager for all she has done for Lindum House, Merry Christmas to you all.

I have been a resident for 5 months I love it, it's home from home, and the staff are friendly I take part in all the activities. The food is lovely the staff and management are so nice. I am so happy!

My aunt was a resident at Barchester Lindum House until her recent passing. She thoroughly enjoyed living there and the care she received was second to none. From the day she arrived, the kindness and patience of the staff was superb, until her final days where I can only thank them for their compassion.

family and I will always be very thankful to the staff for their empathy and respect... and for the carers who went above and beyond to make her stay there so very comfortable.

My dad has been in Lindum House for just over 12 months now. The care and support that he has been given is second to none. He is treated with respect and as an individual, which is what we hoped for. All of the staff are lovely and are very welcoming when I and other family members visit, which we
do regularly.
We never wanted Dad to have to go into a home and it was a big adjustment to us, as he had a rapid deterioration due to a serious decline in his medical condition. But this really is a home-from-home. It was a difficult choice but Lindum House was, and is, the right choice. I would definitely recommend it.

My mum has been a resident in Lindum House since January 2024. She has really settled into the home and made some lovely friends who she chats away with. The care home have daily activities to keep the residents engaged and they enjoy their monthly trip to the pub for some 60's music and a dance! We
cannot fault the staff, who have been amazing and helped my mum settle in and look after her needs whilst allowing her independence too. Everyone knows our mum and chats away with her. Having tried other care homes for respite Lindum has by far been the most suited for our mum which has been such a huge relief for us.

Hi, my name is Jayne and I am the General Manager here at Lindum.


I have worked in the social care industry for over 30 years 25 within management; I qualified as a Registered Manager in 2001.


Social care is my vocation I feel at home in the environment, I have a passion to cascade my wealth of knowledge and experiences throughout my team in order to fulfil and enhance the quality of life for those people who receive our care.

Anthony Cancio

Job Title: Registered Nurse Joined: 2018

Hi, my name is Anthony. I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in the Philippines in 2018. I am very happy to say that Barchester supported me with my move to the UK in June 2022, and provided me with the relevant training and support to get my UK registration PIN so as to work as a registered nurse here at Lindum House.


My role is to support all nursing needs of those living at the home. I am very dedicated to my job and find it very rewarding. I put my relevant nursing skills into practice throughout my working day.

Wendy

Wendy Shipley

Job Title: Care Assistant Joined: 2021

Wendy joined our wonderful team of care assistants at the home in 2021.


She speaks warmly about how much she enjoys getting to know our residents, listening to their stories, experiences and how she has a wish to help others.


Away from the home, Wendy loves to spend time making memories with her grandson and going for walks with her partner, Andy and Bella, their golden Labrador.

Matt

Matt Carr

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2025

Matt has been working at Lindum House since the beginning of 2025 and thoroughly enjoys working with the residents and the Lindum team. He has worked in the social care sector for many years and is very passionate about what he does.


Matt's speciality is home baking, and he really enjoys making cakes for the residents' birthdays & special events/activities. Matt's past catering experience started in the education sector, which then led him to become the food and beverage manager at a local golf club. He then moved to the social care sector. Currently, still a member of the National Association of Care Catering, which, in 2023, they won catering team of the year.


Matt's home life is very busy as he enjoys socialising and regularly walks his dog on the beach every day.
Matt has already made a positive start to Lindum, as we are welcoming 'meet the chef' back next month, at the residents' request.

Stephanie

Stephanie Faulkner

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Joined: 2022

Hi, my name is Stephanie, and I am proud to be an activity assistant here at Lindum House. I have been in post since October 2022. I am no stranger to Lindum House, having worked here previously for 5 years, the role of an activities assistant with over 15 years’ experience.


As the home's activity assistant, I feel it is most important to know the residents, their likes and dislikes this ensures that person-centred program of events and activities can be planned and facilitated.


Here at Lindum House, we are fortunate to have our minibus so that we can have regular outings to local attractions and sometimes further afield – we are always open to suggestions for our excursions.


I get great job satisfaction when I see the residents smiling, laughing and generally enjoying the activity I am facilitating – seeing the residents smile and being happy is very rewarding!

Job Title: Head of Maintenance Joined: 2022

Hi, my name is Bob. I am Head of Maintenance here at Lindum House. I joined the team here at Lindum in October 2022, but have worked for Barchester for over 13 years in total.


Maintenance is paramount when it comes to Lindum House and the people who live, work and visit here. I take my role very seriously and enjoy keeping the home environment at a high standard, ultimately creating a safe and warm place for people to live in and for my colleagues to work in.


I take great pride in my work and feel a sense of achievement when I have refurbished an area.

Hi, my name is Sarah. I am Head Housekeeper at Lindum House. I have worked since 1995, and I am proud to be the Home's Head of Housekeeping.


I love my job and working in the care sector, it is all I have down and would not want to leave it. I enjoy working for Barchester, they are a well-run company with lots of benefits. I feel empowered in my role and very supported as part of a team

Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward to.


I've worked in health and social care for around 15 years. I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!


I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated', everyone is different, and it's important to focus on each individual's wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!


Our residents' smiles are my reward; it makes me so happy to see them enjoying themselves.

Job Title: Hair and Beauty Therapist

Hi, my name is Jacqui and I am proud to be the Hair & Beauty Therapist here at Lindum House. I have been in post since May 2004. I am no stranger to Lindum House, having worked here for 20 years.


As the home's Hairdresser & Manicurist, I feel a sense of achievement every single week, knowing that my residents look and feel so much better after they visit me.


Here at Lindum House, we are fortunate to have our little salon, which the residents relax and socialise in; it really is quite the little social hub! I feel that social activities at any stage of life are important to a person’s wellbeing, both physically & mentally.


In my spare time, I enjoy swimming & Paddleboarding, I just love the water; I also have a house rabbit called ‘Billy Bear’, whom I may bring in to visit the residents occasionally.


It's my absolute pleasure to visit Lindum House weekly and make our residents feel Fabulous; Not to mention getting them ready for Lindum’s parties and monthly social events.
