Touchless Tech Switches help partially sighted

Date of article: 20-Jan-10

People who are partially sighted, have a tremor, or other mobility and dexterity difficulties, can now turn on lights and appliances more easily, thanks to a new range of switches that incorporate unique passive infrared sensor technology.

Highly innovative, Touchless Tech switches are operated by simply moving a hand or other body part over the sensor. The narrow sensor area and a 5 second post-activation ‘lock-out’ also make it difficult to unintentionally activate the switch.

The sensor’s silent operation and warm glow in the dark also make the switches ideal for use at night.

Touchless Tech switches have strong social value and are available from Ability World and other resellers.
