Barchester Healthcare to open ten new care homes

Barchester Healthcare (BH) is to open ten new care homes in 2010. GB Building Solutions has won the £4.6 million contract to build Barchester’s 70-bed care home in Bramley, Basingstoke in Hampshire. The project starts this week and is expected to be completed in November.

Barchester has already kickstarted a 64-bed care home in Chellaston, Derby, and a 60-bed facility in Hurst Green near Oxford. Later in 2010, ground will be broken on a 60-bed care home in Hopton, Great Yarmouth, a 56-bed home in Jersey, 50 rooms in Lymm, Cheshire and a 60-bed care home in Saltford near Bath.

Barchester has teamed up with Castleoak Developments to also develop care homes in Basingstoke and Wadhurst. Further sites in Oxford, Birmingham, Ashchurch, Canterbury, Cobham and Five Ash Downs are also being evaluated…
