Uplands raise their glasses to new bar

Pensioners celebrated the opening of a pub in their care home with beers, cocktails and brandies.

Amanda’s Bar served its first drink at Uplands Care Home on 7th October.

The bar is named after psychiatrist and supporter of the home, Dr Amanda Thompsell and opens between 1pm and 4pm and for two hours in the evening.

The bar was the brainchild of Home Manager Arthur Tanure and Activities Coordinator Patricia Walters.

Patricia said “We are always thinking of things that would make life better for our residents. Gin and tonic is one of the favourites.”
