Limecroft Care Centre Manager Appointed

Meridian Healthcare announces the appointment of Hazel Smith as Manager of the newly re-opened Limecroft in Oldham.

Hazel brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role including most recently the management of a 20 place day centre in Royton, Oldham for people with dementia related conditions. Hazel is one of a number of staff recruited by Meridian for Limecroft who previously worked for Oldham Council.

Limecroft re-opened in December 2011 and offers short stay dementia care for the people of Oldham. The service provides care for up to 20 residents with Alzheimer's or similar conditions. Meridian Healthcare was selected by Oldham to provide the service following a competitive tender process carried out in Autumn 2011.

The service is operated alongside Oldham Council who own and manage the building. The service was officially re-launched on 9th December.

Meridian Healthcare has recently been awarded Investors in People Gold status. This accolade has been awarded to only 14 other care home providers according to IIP assessors. To date only 1% of all companies in the UK that have reached the IIP standard have been awarded Gold. This reflects the commitment of Meridian to training and development of its employees for the benefit of the residents.
