As a family we would like to send a heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care the team at St Vincents, Southsea have given dad over the 3 years he was there 2022 to 2025. Knowing he was looked after with kindness, dignity and patience has meant so much to us as a family.

Their support, compassion and

Overall Experience

My husband has been at St Vincent House care home for 3 years now. The staff are all exceptional. They are kind, patient, caring people who have looked after my husband and made him feel very welcome. The meals etc are top class and the place is clean and very well looked after. They celebrate all the

important dates throughout the year and get the residents to make decorations etc to hang around the home. My husband is very happy there and that means the world to me and our sons.

Overall Experience

My father lived at St Vincent Care Home from July 2023 until his recent death in September 2025. During his time there he was settled and content. My father had various medical conditions and throughout that time, he never needed to attend hospital as staff were so attentive and responsive to any changes

in his physical health. They requested GP and district nursing visits when necessary. During his last few months he became much frailer and staff made the necessary adjustments to his care, whilst still ensuring he was given choice and control. The palliative care given was wonderful and my father died with dignity.

Overall Experience

From the first time I walked into St Vincent House I was very impressed with the loving helpful care that all members of staff gave the residents. When mum moved in three weeks ago the staff made her very welcome and helped her settle in, and they attend to all of her needs. Mums life has changed since

moving to St Vincent's and she is loving it. There is always things going on for the residents, entertainers coffee mornings, keep fit, bingo and outings to different parts of Portsmouth and Southsea. St Vincent House is excellent in every way.

Overall Experience

My mother was a resident at the home from October 2024 until her death in March 2025.
During that time, she was given excellent care.
The staff were very kind and thoughtful and nothing was too much trouble. She refused to eat, but was given every encouragement. The food always looked and smelled

appetising.
When visiting mum we were always made very welcome.

Overall Experience

My mother was a resident of St Vincent
Lodge, Southsea for 5 years. She received very good care, from a dedicated team of staff.
She settled in well, and enjoyed the activities and attention she received. Laterly, she needed pureed food. The chef presented this beautifully, ie carrot puree was

served in the shape of a carrot.
Overall, l was very impressed with the home, never smelling incontinence issues.

Overall Experience

My dad came to this rest home for a 4 week respite in January 25 . After only 2/3 weeks he liked it so much he's decided to become a permanent resident. All the staff are brilliant and can't do enough for him . This is one of the main reasons for his decision to become a permanent resident.

Overall Experience

My father has been a resident of St Vincent's for the last 5 months.
I can honestly say I am bowled over with the support and care the staff not only give to my dad but to the whole family. Nothing is too much trouble and as a nurse myself I am so impressed with care and dedication of all the staff.

I am also impressed with the activities programme that is full of different activities that visitors are encouraged to join in with.
The staff keep us regularly updated with my dads progress and include us in relevant decision making.

Overall Experience

My father is a dementia sufferer and has only recently moved into a care setting. This has been difficult for him and our mum. Both of them have been made to welcome and the staff are always willing to do whatever it takes to answer their questions and give reassurance.
Our dad is quite poorly and

has had several episodes of being quite unwell, we are always consulted and listened to.
We are happy that if dad cant be with us, you are doing your best to be the people he turns to for support.

Overall Experience

My mum has been a resident since November 2023. The care she receives is exemplary from all the staff. Due to her dementia she took a while to settle but was shown kindness and compassion and loves living here now. She needs persuading to join in activities but Sharon works her magic and it is wonderful

to see her participating in so many things. She is always clean and in her own clothes. The food is excellent. As a family we are always greeted as friends and the staff take the time to learn about us so that they can talk to Mum about her family. We could not have chosen a better home . Thank you.

Overall Experience

My dad has been a resident for over 2 years and I can honestly say all the wonderful staff from management to domestics at St. Vincent's go above and beyond to make everyone feel happy and comfortable. The care and attention to detail is second to none. The residence always appear happy and content

which is very important. St Vincents activity team are outstanding and provide lots of different things for them to do, like entertainers, arts and crafts, trips out along the seafront and even the local nursery children visit regularly which puts a smile on everyone's face. I can honestly say that choosing St. Vincent was 100% the right decision for my dad, I would strongly recommend this st Vincents to anyone looking for a safe and caring place for their loved one.

Overall Experience

My husband has lived in St Vincent House for six months now and from day one he has been cared for with love, dignity and compassion. I have visited him during every part of the day and into the night and have witnessed their continuity of this care. The management and staff were so supportive to to

me and helped both of us to adjust to our new lives, now we are apart, and I cannot thank them enough.
The activities they provide is wonderful, with entertainers coming in, trip outs
and celebrations marking all events. The team are excellent I would highly recommend.

Overall Experience

My partner has been a resident at St Vincent House for nearly three years and now he is at the end of his life. The management team has adapted his care plan for this stage of his dementia and I have been kept fully informed and involved with the process. I have been given a full and clear explanation

of how he can be kept comfortable and safe with minimum intervention and within current guidelines.
He is treated with so much patience, care, and respect, and with knowledge of his particular needs and sensitivities gained throughout his time there. I am impressed with how much time the carers are able to give him on a 1:1 basis, reflecting the very favourable ratio of staff to residents and the general ethos of the Home. Good practice in any environment always comes from above; at St Vincent, it is taught, modelled, and encouraged.
I myself am treated with care and compassion at this difficult time. I don't have any family support and this means a lot to me, it gives me strength.

My Mother is coming to the end of her life after a stroke at 91. The staff are very respectful and thoughtful and keep me updated daily. The management was very thoughtful with financial matters and was very flexible. If anyone asks me what to look out for in a home for their loved one I say ask how

long the staff have been there as I have found great comfort as the staff at St Vincent's have been there all of the 5 years of my Mithers stay and some have been there considerably longer.

Overall Experience

When my mum went into St Vincent's in August 2022 it was an agonising time for us, as her daughter I felt like I was letting her down. But thanks to the amazing staff my fears were soon alleviated, my mum was made to feel like she was in her own home, her room was full of her bits and pieces and very

homely. The care she was given was excellent and the staff all knew her and treated her with such kindness. They also treated me with compassion and kindness obviously realising what an awful time I was having in the beginning. My mum settled so well which amazed me, as when she first went in she was shy, depressed and really not enjoying life. The transformation was incredible, suddenly I had my mum back, a very happy lady with a heart of gold and a wonderful smile. She joined in with all of the activities, loved singing and dancing, the staff were brilliant at organising so many outings and activities. I can't thank them enough for everything.

Lovely care home, very clean. Very professionally managed with excellent, caring and compassionate staff. My mother needs a lot of care and medication, and she is given everything she needs. The food is excellent, and we would recommend St Vincent House Southsea to anyone who would require a care home

Overall Experience

My mother spent 18 very happy months in St Vincent's and I never regretted my choice of residential home for her. From the outset the staff were helpful and friendly, doing all they could to help Mum settle in, including allowing her pictures and ornaments from home. St Vincent's is a relatively small

home and so the staff all knew Mum well and developed good relationships with us as a family. Communication was always excellent and the accounts team were very understanding when there a few problems with the local authority funding that we needed whilst the family home was sold. When Mum's care needs changed a different room with a special bed was found quickly and the staff moved Mum's belongings for us. Sadly Mum passed away quite suddenly, but I was given help to clear her room and was very touched by the card and the photos of Mum during happier times at the home that I was given. The offer of staff to be present when the funeral cortege went past was also very moving.

Overall Experience

One of the most difficult things to do is accept and find a residential care home for your relative. As a family we spent a long time looking for the right place. I found St Vincent's staff very sympathetic, helpful and always put the care of my relative first but always there for the family giving

great support.
The staff spend time with each resident working for the resident to feel comfortable. Food is good, plenty of snacks available and the room is always clean.

Overall Experience

St Vincent House is genuinely an exceptional residential care home that I can't recommend enough. I selected this care home for my father after he had a fall at home and a lengthy stay in hospital, which resulted in him being unable to return home. Having viewed several care homes in Gosport, and having

had a bad previous experience at a different care home, I have been incredibly impressed at everything about the home and the way it is run. Dad had a wonderful welcome at the home and the friendly, caring, loving staff treated him and the other residents and visitors with respect and compassion. They really did the best for Dad in his time of need.
Sadly, Dad passed away in hospital during early October and lots of the staff turned out and showed their respects when the funeral cortege went past the home, this was very touching for Dad's family. In addition, they helped me clear his room and the management team refunded his overpaid care fees very quickly without any fuss.
