My father has dementia and spent a two week respite period in the care home while I was on holiday. During his time staff were patient, caring and considerate for his condition. Activities were inclusive and despite him not joining in initially, he was encouraged to be part of the larger family and was disappointed to come away. When he does recall his visit, it is with pleasure.

The staff are very caring and patient. Also, there is not a huge turnover of staff so my mother knows and trusts the carers. There is a smell, especially in the older part but guess this is due to the size. It is clean and my mother enjoys the food. Would be nice if those with severe dementia could be separated as it can be a little scary sometimes.

My father has been a resident since February 2018. He has settled in very well and is looked after to a high standard. He is in the high dependency unit as he is unable to walk or feed himself. He needs a lifting aid. The staff constantly talk to him and include him in activities. He is free from pain. The care, food and facilities are of a very high standard. The Lodge not only cares for residents but also their family. We have continued support from the staff regarding our own struggles accepting his illness. All staff act professionally and with compassion. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. My Mum and I are very grateful to The Lodge and its staff.

Overall I am pleased with the care provided by The Lodge, the carers are helpful and have a good relationship with my father and the management respond well to queries I have.

I have had some issues that concern me, however, nothing that has not been resolved to my satisfaction.

All of the staff are extremely caring, from the Manager to the carers and cleaners. The staff personalise the residents, call them all by their first names and interact with them extremely well at all times. The resident's bedrooms and shared lounges are very clean and well maintained. My mother-in-law suffers from acute dementia and tends to wander during the night time. There are always staff on hand to assist her during these episodes and their patience is amazing. One great advantage of the Lodge is that it is a very large property specifically designed for elderly care, unlike adapted large houses. From my own personal experience I can honestly say that after visiting several homes to try and find a suitable placement for my mother in law, this is by far the best. PS. Have just returned from the Mother's Day afternoon celebration for residents and family - it was great.

Family and friends always comment on the very high standards The Lodge care home provides.

Any issues regarding residents always dealt with promptly. Continuity of care from the same care workers is also a bonus.

I'm very happy with the care home. My daughter and I visit about 5 times a week. We are treated like family and made so welcome. My ex-husband is immobile and not vocal. The staff are great with him treating him with care and dignity.

Overall mum is well cared for but sometimes her jug of squash in her room is not changed daily. On a number of occasions, we have thrown it away as it smelt and was stale.

My uncle was recently admitted as a respite case, who is now permanent. I cannot praise the staff enough. My uncle needs help with dressing etc and I have always found the care staff to go above and beyond what is needed. The entertainment is also great and again, my uncle has loved taking part in all the activities that they have. So happy that I don't have to worry anymore about his needs and I know that he is well looked after. Thank you so very much.

The Home is set in lovely well looked after grounds and the interior has recently started to be refurbished, but it really needs some more pictures etc to make the main lounge seem more homely, though I have noticed some start to appear.
On the whole, I am happy with my Mothers care and most of the staff appear very caring. Up until recently, there were a lot of times where there was no staff member in the rooms (which I was not happy about as I did not feel this was safe). Recently I have noticed that there is generally someone in each lounge.
There is a good range of entertainment, and the Staff put a lot of effort in here, but my Mother does not respond to this, but a lot of the residents do enjoy this.

I think over the last year the Home has improved and I feel my Mother is safe here and as mentioned most of the Staff are really dedicated.

My mum went into care last August. It was a very traumatic and upsetting time for me. I cannot thank the manager and all the wonderful staff enough for all the care and support they have given both to myself but especially my mum. I have nothing but praise and admiration for them all. My mum is happy here, and she is looked after very well.

Staff are not welcoming. When I took my friend to the home no one came to welcome him or explain to us the procedure e.g. what time meals are and who to speak to if there are any problems. My friend had other residents go into his room and take his things and the staff didn't seem bothered. They then put him in a room away from everyone where he was isolated. Staff are extremely rude. I informed them that his GP may visit because my friend hadn't been eating and the staff member said he was like that before he went in and that they don't do miracles.

We are happy with the care my relative receives. Obviously, we would prefer her in her own home but as this is not possible sadly, The Lodge is the next best thing. The care staff are great and the activities team are also fantastic. The Lodge is a care home that does genuinely care, not just for residents but for their families too.

Just wanted to personally thank you for taking care of my nan and most importantly for keeping her safe for her time that she spent with you. She was extremely special to our family and always will be and I know that my family always spoke highly of you all. When I visited my nan at your home from Scotland she was comfortable there. Again, thank you so much.
