Winton House

My mother-in-law went into Winton House for a respite stay and she decided it was the best place for her to stay permanently. The management team have been extremely efficient and helpful in getting everything arranged, giving us the choice of different rooms until my mother-in-law was comfortable and happy. She has settled in really well, enjoying the social events with other residents and chatting to the wonderful care team. The home is spotlessly clean, tidy and always smells fresh. The food is varied and delicious, she's been eating a lot more than when at home, so looks healthy and happy. All the care team have been amazing, really welcoming and friendly, and the housekeeping team have kept her room spotless and her clothes laundered regularly. My own mother was in Winton 8 years ago, and a lot of the staff are still there which is a great indication of the happy, homely, safe environment the team have created. I cannot praise them highly enough.

Winton House has become my mother's home. The environment is comfortable and relaxed and the staff, all the staff, go out of their way to help. As the daughter of an elderly mother I know mum is safe, cared for, supported and most importantly seen. We cannot thank Winton House enough for ensuring my mum is always treated with dignity and respect.

I think that my brother has settled really well since moving in a year ago and is happy. He is well cared for and enjoys the interaction with the staff and fellow residents. He especially enjoys all the activities and joins in willingly every day.

Winton House is like a home, the building itself and grounds are very homely. It's clean and always smells fresh. All management and staff are approachable, helpful and friendly. You ask for anything and they will try their best to help. They have activities through out the week and events for both residents and invite families to special occasions. I would recommend Winton House always warm and welcoming.

We discovered the wonderful Winton House when we were looking for a respite placement for my mother following a hospital stay just before Christmas. We were instantly impressed with the feel of the home and we all felt that mum would be very well looked after there. Her respite stay was so successful that she has now become a permanent resident and we could not be happier with the care she receives. All the staff put the resident's needs at the heart of everything they do, from the chef who makes a point of asking residents what their favourite foods are, to the housekeeping staff who keep the house spotlessly clean and welcoming, and of course, the care team who are there day and night to support the needs of each resident. The management team has also been excellent and any concerns or queries we've raised have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. Winton House has really been a godsend for our family and I would have no hesitation recommending it to others.

Winton house is definitely a home that strives to do the right thing and put issues right when bought to their attention. My uncle is extremely poorly and unable to function normally but the staff are so caring, considerate and kind that he feels very comfortable with them. The change in management last year has resulted in a strong structure and improvements gradually taking place. The carers are always happy to give an update and the Manager and deputy are often available. As the relative of someone who is very poorly they are keen to support myself and my uncle at this difficult time. Recommend very highly

Amazing care is provided to all residents and nothing is too much trouble for the highly experienced team. The team genuinely cares about all of the residents and works hard to make life as fun and enjoyable as possible.

All staff were very helpful and pleasant. Being able to have a bath with help was excellent. Entertainment was varied and good . Lovely and warm temperature. Food was basic but ok . Very easy to book in . Would definitely stay again if needed.

They went over and above to look after my mum. The activities team were fantastic too coming up with all sorts of things for the residents to do and making it fun . The night team were fantastic too , all extremely caring and friendly. The care home should be extremely proud of there staff

My experience during a four week respite stay at Winton House was an entirely positive one. I was a little apprehensive initially, but my fears were very quickly assuaged. Every member of staff was both professional , helpful and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt very well looked after. My room was comfortable,and always kept spotlessly clean. The laundry service was exceptional. Mealtimes were something to look forward to. I now come to your caring staff! I was so impressed seeing their care of and dedication to your residents. I was only with you for a short while, but felt the same degree of care, which was truly appreciated. I would like to offer sincere thanks to each of them

My room did not have a shower and the available shower for general use was not easy for me to use.

He particularly enjoys his relationships with the staff who are so friendly and caring.

My father has been at Winton House for a year. The staff are kind and caring and take the time to chat with him. The communal areas and his room are always clean and tidy. I know that he enjoys the food and there are plenty of activities to get involved in. There is a maintained garden and seating area which the residents can use and when the weather is good and he is well enough, he enjoys walking around the garden. The staff have been very helpful in taking him to medical appointments when needed and recently took the time to go to the local hospital to discuss his discharge and how they could best support him. Both he and I have been very happy with the care and support he has received.

My mum has been at Winton House a year now and is very well cared for - she is not easy and has dementia which is only getting worse so has been very difficult for me particularly with my mum objecting to everything. The management and staff at Winton House have been very good in helping me through a difficult period and I feel my mum is now coming to terms this is her home and she is being very well looked after - they try and get her to join in and go on excursions which is very good for her as at home she had no company whatsoever and was not capable of caring for herself - to add to that I live 150 miles away so a great worry off my mind knowing she is safe.

My mother has been at Winton House for more than three years and has always felt safe and happy there. In the last few months, she has become dependent on her carers to help her dress and move around. Everything possible has been done to help her get used to no longer being independent and senior carers are helping me too to come to terms with these changes. They are always kind and happy to spend time talking to me and I can see that my mother is being well cared for.

Winton House is beautifully kept, very clean and modern, the food is good and activities every day of the week. My mother has been very happy there.

Towards the end of his stay, he decided he would like to become a resident, however, a dementia diagnosis meant this was not possible.

My father has been at Winton House for almost 6 months. He is so happy to have support around him 24/7. He joins in with a lot of activities and loves being here. I know he is safe, well and looked after.

In addition to the comfortable, newly decorated rooms are well-furnished lounges and smaller spaces and plenty of activities to join in if you wish to. The kitchen is just being refurbished and all other areas look recently decorated so the general upkeep is clearly very good. We are very happy to have found Winton House as a home from home for dad.
