Overall Experience

Kilkee has cared for both of my parents. My Dad was there for the last few months of his life, requiring 24/7 care, and was treated with dignity and respect. Mum became a resident there at the same time, with dementia and the staff have been amazing when dealing with her ever increasing needs due to the dementia, and helping her deal with the loss of Dad. She has been quite demanding at times, but the staff are wonderful dealing with all her daily needs, and also helping us come to terms with this cruel disease. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done.

The caring staff are very polite and welcoming. They are always ready to help/assist when asked. The staff always respect residents privacy when necessary and always ask how the residents families are.

The staff are amazing and really take good care of my Dad. He loves living there.

They all have a joke and laugh with him , which Dad loves. He loves sitting in Hall and keeping an eye on all the comings and goings of the day

Overall Experience

Menu generally good, would like more shepherd's pie/ cottage pie and macaroni cheese. Fresh veg is steamed, not sure what happens to the veg when presented for dinner. Catering can only do what they can, with the food they have. However, some days the food is cooked better than others. Recently noticed more noise and disturbance during the nights which disturbs my sleep.

The staff at Kilkee Lodge were absolutely brilliant supporting my mum when she stayed there whilst recovering from 2 broken wrists.
They made sure that she was supported with her needs and also encouraged her to do as much as she could to ease the transition back to her own home.

They went out of their way to provide her with her food requirements - nothing was ever too difficult for them.
