My Dad was in Stronvar for just over a year. It is very homely and the team are always very warm and caring to all the residents. The home is extremely clean and well presented. I would recommend Stronvar to anyone considering a home for someone.

Dad has been here since the end July. We chose Stronvar because my grandmother had lived here until her death in 2017 and had been very well cared for. It was lovely to be remembered by the manager and to find some staff who had cared for my grandmother.
There has been no staff turnover in the 6 months
that Dad has been here. He has Alzheimers, so continuity of care is very important for him. I have peace of mind knowing that he is safe and well cared for. His needs are met, and the staff are very fond of all their residents. It is a small home so the individual care is excellent. Dad has settled very well, and certainly as much as the Alzheimers will allow.
I have also found that all the staff, from the manager to the cleaner, have been very supportive of me as well as Dad. I've had some difficult decisions to make and they have supported me at every turn. It's a real team effort.

Stronvar is an excellent care home. All the carers and managers are extremely kind and caring.
They endeavour to have as many activities is possible within the constraints and capabilities of the residents.
Would recommend this home to anyone wanting a personal, intimate and caring environment for
their loved ones.

Stronvar welcomed mum in on restbite first of all and thereafter full time. She was not sure about going into a home as i wasnt either, however, all the staff at Stronvar love mum as they would their own. Mum's dietary requirements were taken care of in full and she thrived being there. The rooms
are get and very comfortable. I can advise if you are looking for an excellent home for a loved one please take a look at Stronvar. Excellent.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.283) out of 10 for Stronvar Rest Home Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.783 for Stronvar Rest Home Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.783
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stronvar Rest Home Ltd is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 17 registered maximum number of service users is 3.4, which has been reached with 5 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
