My brother has been at Michael House since December 2024 and has flourished there as never before. He was depressed and fearful when he arrived but the staff made him feel welcome and cared for straight away and we could not believe how quickly he related to his care staff and settled in. His general
health has improved and he is happier and more confident than he has been for over twenty years.
The staff clearly know how to relate to people with learning disabilities, and for the first time in many years we have confidence that he is really well cared for and looked after, as well as being encouraged to be as independent as he feels happy with.
Reply from Ranga Mugabe, Senior Care Home Manager at Enham Care Home ServicesWe are so pleased that your brothers health and wellbeing have improved so significantly since he moved to Michael House. We really appreciate getting feedback such as this and to hear of the positive impact that our teams are having on the lives of the people they support I will make sure to share this with them. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

Our son has lived at Enham for over 12 years, initially in Elizabeth House and for the last 6 years in William House.
He is very well looked after there. He loves life and living in William House and has lots of friends, both residents and staff. The Manager, Bonnie, is outstanding and has a wonderful
team supporting her. With her skills, leadership and enthusiasm and the staff's dedication, William House is a very happy home.
We would thoroughly recommend Enham to anyone

My brother has lived at Enham since 2012 and after the initial adjustment has always been happy there. The block where he lives, Elizabeth House was originally a residential care home but over the last couple of years has transitioned to Support Living. My brother enjoys the greater independence this
allows - being supported to go food shopping, cook his own meals and even clean his flat. The staff are kind, attentive, and caring and also make him laugh which is a wonderful thing to hear. I feel he is well-cared for and I know he wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Since the new Manager took over the management of Enham Trust there have been huge improvements.

My son has been in Elizabeth House in Enham for about 12 years. The staff in the House are completely committed to him and go the extra mile to support him. They know him well - for example they take him on days out, planning in terms of what his interests are. He has a wide programme of activities
which are open to all residents and helps them make friends. For example, he is in the choir which puts on concerts - joyous occasions. I think this sense of community is something very special to Enham, as are the grounds - like a campus. I get immediate updates of anything needed to do with his health and I'm confident he is looked after.

In any care home there are things that could be tweaked to be improved, but I have complete confidence in senior managers to act as needed. My son is extremely happy, safe and settled in Enham and I am very grateful for this.

My brother has been in care at Enham for around fifty years. There have been many personnel changes over this time, but since the recent involvement of the Aster Group, there is a much more positive, professional, and forward-looking management approach to the care services provided. The carers really
do care and my brother is happy there.

I am very satisfied with the care my son receives. It is delivered by kind and caring people with dignity and respect and I feel he is safe in his home. My son is very happy in his environment with excellent senior support and management staff and a range of in-house activities. His health needs are
well managed and all hospital appointments are attended and reported on. He very much enjoys his regular trips out.

My daughter has lived at Enham for 17 years and considers this to be her home. She loves her life at Enham and is involved in activities around the campus site that support her physical development. She leads a good social life and enjoys excellent support from all staff at Enham. She is treated with
respect and dignity at all times. Above all else, she is listened to as an individual. The positive ethos found throughout Enham fully supports our family when advocating for my daughter. The staff are dedicated and caring.
Reply from Sharon Bye, Director of Care at Enham Care Home ServicesThank you for your feedback which is deeply appreciated. Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.774)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.774) out of 10 for Enham Care Home Services is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.457 for Enham Care Home Services is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.457
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.317 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Enham Care Home Services is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.667
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
