Hello, my name is Felicia and I am delighted to be the registered manager of Merrydale Residential Home on the sunny Isle of Wight. I joined Merrydale in 2020, just as the pandemic started.
In 2017 I gained my Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management in adult Health and Social care. I have previously worked with individuals with learning disabilities, being a palliative care worker as well as a funeral coordinator.
I pride myself on being someone who cares about individuals, taking everyone's views and opinions into account in any situation. I am a warm and friendly person which I feel makes me a people person, and I love my job here at Merrydale.
Hello, my name is Sam. I joined Merrydale back when I was 16 years old as an apprentice.
I have developed my career here over the years and I absolutely love working at Merrydale and doing my best to make a difference in individuals' lives, or by simply putting a smile on our residents' faces.
I have gained a range of qualifications here as well as a level 2 & 3 diploma in Health and Social care, and business administration qualification.
In my spare time, I love crafting and enjoying the local beaches and scenery.
Hello, my name is Lisa and I have worked at Merrydale for nearly sixteen years. I absolutely love my job and my workplace. I have my level 3 NVQ and an array of health & social qualifications.
During the first COVID-19 lockdown, I stepped in and used my previous career as a hairdresser to make sure all residents continued to have their hair done as they liked and looked forward to.
In my spare time, I love to shop and keep things clean and tidy and I am now a Nana for the first time, which keeps me very busy!
My name is Sophie, and I have worked at Merrydale for nearly five years, initially as a Senior Carer and more recently as a Care Co-ordinator, following the successful completion of my Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Before joining Merrydale, I spent much of my career in administrative roles at St Mary’s Hospital. Eventually, I decided to pursue a new direction in the care sector, and it has proven to be the best decision I have ever made. Working at Merrydale has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally. It has been confirmed that this is the career I was meant to follow—supporting our elderly residents with the compassion, dignity, and respect they truly deserve in later life. I am passionate about continuous learning and development, and my colleagues often affectionately call me “the nerd” or “the geek,” as I always enjoy taking part in training and anything that helps expand my knowledge and skills.
My name is Faye and I have been working at Merrydale for just over a year now and it is a wonderful place to work. I have my NVQ level 2 & 3 and I am currently working on my level 4 to further my career. My hobbies include spending time with my friends & family and I am a big animal lover! Merrydale is like a big family and such a welcoming home.
