Sovereign House is a small family-run Residential Care Home in Herne Bay.

It offers long-term and respite residential care for clients with or without Dementia.

Sovereign House has been a Care Home since 1984 and can accommodate 10 clients. All room are single, have en-suite facilities and can be accessed via a lift or chair lift.

Clients participate in daily activities run by the staff in the home and have regular trips into town and the sea front.

There is also a visiting hairdresser, manicurist, chiropodist, optician and hand reflexology therapists on a regular basis.

Mum has been settled at Sovereign House for many years now and sees it as 'home'. The staff are very friendly and approachable and provide excellent care. It's a small care home that feels very homely and is always exceptionally clean. Mum always enjoys the activities provided, it's the perfect place
for Mum and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

I would definitely recommend this care home. Mum can be really challenging at times but the staff deal with the situations extremely well. The home always smells fresh and clean and food excellent. I have no worries at all about leaving mum there and it gives me real peace of mind to know that she will
be well cared for.

Looking for respite care for my mum was so difficult, but when I walked into Sovereign House I knew instantly that this was the right place for her.


The staff are so welcoming, friendly and caring. The property is so homely. As Mum has dementia it was so important to find somewhere that wouldn't

be overwhelming for her, Sovereign House is perfect.


Mum was quite anxious when she first got to the home but the staff were great with her, (and me!) in reassuring her and settling her in. When I picked her up she was happy and joking with the staff and even said that she would like to go back.


I cannot thank them enough for looking after my mum and the peace of mind I had that she was safe and comfortable.

After living with us for 2yrs we had sadly reached the stage where Mums dementia was becoming too difficult for us to manage. After checking out a few local care homes, Sovereign House was recommended to us by a friend and after visiting and meeting the staff and the owner we were confident that Mum
would be happy and well looked after here.
Mum stayed at Sovereign House from 8th October 2018, until she passed away on 1st February 2019. We can honestly say that we could not have wished for Mum to have had better care, she was fantastically well looked after, had a lovely room and the friendly staff were brilliant from start to finish. The special care given to Mum in her final weeks was wonderful and made a difficult time so much easier.
Needless to say, we would thoroughly recommend Sovereign House to anybody looking for a care home in Herne Bay.

The staff at this home are very caring and supportive. The hygiene levels are good and consistently carried out. I would recommend to anyone looking for a small high-quality home.

My stepmother has been at Sovereign House for 5 and a half years. We have always been very happy, she is very happy!
The staff have a very good rapport with all the residents, it is always very clean, her room is spotless and ensuite. She loves all the food, it's good home cooking. They have activities
for residents or they will play cards or quizzes with them. We just had a summer party, the food was great, we played games a great time was had by all.

On visiting Sovereign House to see my neighbour, I was welcomed by the very friendly staff. All the residents looked very happy and chatty! The home had a lovely feel and the smell of home cooking made me very hungry! Would not hesitate to recommend this home to friends and family.

My mother has been cared for at Sovereign House since early 2015. We chose this care home because of our previous experience when our aunt (Mum's sister) became a resident, spending her final years in a safe, clean and happy environment.


Staff are caring, considerate and always respectful towards

their residents. The home is always clean and tidy and is managed firstly in the best interest of its residents.

My mother came into this home a year ago suffering from acute anxiety and depression. She would just sit on her own and not interact with anyone. Now she sits in the day room with the other residents and partakes in various activities. This is due to the wonderful care and attention that she receives
from all the staff and management team.
